Well title says it all.. Duos model is almost 100 euros cheaper so are there any differences with S9+?
Are they only rom related or do they have differences in h/w as well? And why is it cheaper anyway?
Thanks in advance for your replies

One is dual sim, while the second isnt. Simple as that.
I believe duos is EX, and the non could potentially be SD.
I think it is:
1 sim = S9+
2 sims = S9+ Duos (also known as Hybrid but has Duos on the back of the device).
I might be wrong. I normally am according to the better half!

i am also wondering with this duo version though mine is duos, i thought the hybrid sim is standard since years ago for flagship phones but seems with these 2 variant it isn't. i thought at first with this duos variant have 3 slots: 2 sim 1 mSD but seems its just another hybrid one *sigh*
The duos as long as it's the exynos version with the same product code (G965FD) will run any official G965F firmwarw fine. I got one from Hong Kong and flashed the UK three firmware and now I get volte and WiFi calling. It was over £200 cheaper than Samsung UK!!!

Thanks this is what I was looking for to hear. Not having the same firmware model as the world one would be a no go since f/w updates would be different.

S9/S9+ Duos is a Hybrid Dual SIM device based on Samsung Exynos 9810 platform.
S9/S9+ Regular (non-Duos) is a Single SIM + SD Slot device based on either Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 OR Samsung Exynos 9810 platform; it depends upon the model number.
I could find all model numbers here with a quick google search; I am not sure if this information is absolutely correct though.

The 2nd slot (hybrid one) accepts only SD cards on non-duos models.
Samsung might not be using "Duos" branding in all market where it sells Dual SIM variants.
For eg. European dual SIM variants are branded Duos but Indian dual SIM variants are simply called "Samsung Galaxy S9 Dual SIM".
Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
For anyone who are interested the Hong Kong version is dual SIM only with Qualcomm CPU and the sim2 slot can be used as SD card slot
http://www.samsung.com/hk_en/smartphones/galaxy-s9/spec/
The model name and number are different and I have been using the S9+ 128gb version SM-G9650/DS
Hong Kong version is hybrid dual SIM with SD 845.
Other versions sold here are parallel imports.

thank you for this info. I have been reading here
someone saying that "one has single sim has two sims. it is simple as that"
No it is not so simple.
He failed to provide this useful info YOU gave and which makes it a dealbreaker. Because i want to buy a dual sim which also has an sd card slot available
(non hybrid).
This changes all. I have put for sale my single sim s8 plus in order to buy a dual sim s9plus.
Now i will keep my s8plus and continuew using my good old s3 for my work phone.

Sorry to be that guy, but this is wrong.
I have a Duos s9+ running on a Snapdragon 845. (G9650/Argentina so Chinese Snapdragon, OEM Unlock and Root capable. YAY) It is, as you said, a hybrid tray, so will accept either two sims, or one sim and an SD card.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the processor.
for HK version , I think it has one difference, one's slot can support SD cards.

I'm currently in Korea and just bought the LTE Note which uses micro sim.
Do you also have micro sim slot in your Note or it's just me? I haven't seen any note uses micro sim.
I've heard a few guys here use this note (the one was bought in Korea) oversea. Are those factory unlocked?
Thanks
Nope my SGH-I717D utilizes a full sized SIM

How many dual sim versions of the V10 are there? H921N, H962?
All the dual sim versions have 2 sim slots and a 3rd slot for a SD card correct?
Also does the V10 dual sim version have a IR blaster built in?
I googled for information and photos but all I could find was info on the USA single sim model.
H921N owner here, yes, it has the two sim slots and the sd card one. And yes, mine has an IR blaster.
H962: 2 sim and 1 sd card slots, check. Ir blaster, check

The problem with Colombia is that some phones are just not approved to be put on there networks even if it supports the frequency range. My brother purchased a dual sim phone that had the supported hardware to run on the frequencies in Colombia but when he went to activate he was told that particular make and model could not be used in Colombia.
I know the V10 is sold in Colombia on Exito.com webite and it is the LGH960A model but I can not find any information on if it has dual sims or not.
Is Galaxy S9+ Duos with Exynos SoC Dual Sim Dual VoLTE or 2nd Sim Card is 2G/3G only?
So, you will want to use two different SIMs and speak use VoLTE for both?
I think it's possible. I have never thought of it this way, but it should work (although I do not have any evidence to back it up)
Looks like SIM2 won't do LTE at all according to phonemore http://www.phonemore.com/samsung-galaxy-s9-plus-sm-g965fds/specs/3886

Sorry, but Phonemore specs are completely unbelievable. It's simply bullsh...
Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S8+ Duos and Note 8 Duos (all with Exynos) have 2nd SIM 2G/3G capable. Why could S9+ have only 2G network on 2nd SIM, if older models have 2G/3G?
Galaxy S9+ Duos with Snapdragon SoC supports 4G and VoLTE on both simcards simultaneously. Is it the same with Exynos version?

Unfortunately non of this devices you mention supports 3G. You have to switch in settings in order to have suport 3G,4G for sim 2 and vice versa.
S8 Exynos (G950FD) supported VOLTE on both SIM but not simultaneously; the other SIM would no longer remain in VOLTE network mode if you selected that mode for one SIM.
It's a shame that below $100 xiaomi phones now support VOLTE simultaneously on both SIM but Samsung doesn't. I hope S9 series does.

Well, my pre-order is expected to be delivered by 17th March; I can test and let you know by then.
Will voLTE be enabled by default on unlocked phones? Or will I have to buy an operator modified ROM to have the option to use the VoLTE or Wifi calling services?
Thanks
Its Hybrid Dual-Standby config so unfortunately only 1 sim can be primary at 4G/VoLTE and other can be only 3G/2G at that time.
Yea, I've just got my S9+ Exynos and I can confirm: when 1st SIM card is connected to LTE/VoLTE service, the second SIM card is connected to 3G network
No Dual Sim Dual VoLTE.

Now we need to wait and see if the Snapdragon version can do it.
Another question, if you disable LTE on SIM 1, can SIM 2 then connect to LTE. Or do you have to swap the SIM cards over?

I second that.
I just received my S9+ (via renewal of my mobile contract) and received a dual sim one (check by inserting two sim cards, it does ask for both pins and let's me choose the sim card to use for calling), although it was never advertised as such.
However, it only shows LTE for the first one.
Considering that the dual-sim version is marketed as specific "Duos" devices, those might differ - but I wouldn't bet on it.

Problem is not with switching Band of Data SIM; but having both SIM work at LTE simultaneously.

Cheers, that makes my new phone decision easier. It won't be a Xiaomi this time. ?
You can check some unboxing on youtube from Hong Kong. All Global version got EU charger.
It's been possible in the past to convert some single-SIM models to support dual-SIM (the P20 Pro L09 could be flashed to a L29 to support 2 Sims) - considering that this phone also does exist as a dual SIM variant in China, maybe it'll be possible to do something similar to enable dual SIM support?
It'd be interesting to see if the two modems required in this phone once we see a teardown of the global version. (would that even be visible? Idk)
