If the phone is paid for, your cousin just needs to call Tmobile and ask for the unlock code. They will give it to him.

A Gear fit and Samsung galaxy s4 by T-mobile. It can not be pair up. I downloaded the Gear fit Manager and Everytime it popup passkey code and both Gear Fit and The galaxy s4 passkey is match, but refund to pair up. I have been tried more then 20 times and Everytime it showed Waiting for confirmation from Gear Fit Manager and it disconnect.
I have tried to pair with 2 different Galaxy s4 and result are the same. How can Hard Reset on this Gear Fit? Maybe the Firmware problem?? I bought this Gear Fit in bulk deal.. All of them connect, only this one. Maybe it need firmware upgrade or Reset etc.. Please advice. Thanks
Never mind, Upgrade the firmware via ODin on download mode and it connect right the way.. The old firmware issues. Thanks XDA and Upgrade Guide

For the time being it seems the Gear S2 and Gear S3 won't be affected as they are not explicitly mentioned. Samsung also says that all current Samsung 2020 smartphone models will still be compatible with the entire Gear lineup
