I really hope I'm in the right place... Anyways, how do you install apps on the Amazfit Bip? I've been trying for a while now. I've figured out how to do watchfaces from the Play Store, but I can't figure out how to do the apps. I need help very soon!

P.S. I'm new to XDA so please don't be mean
Hello and welcome. But you cannot install apps on Bip, it uses a proprietary ROM/firmware. AFAIK you can only add custom watchfaces if you use Android on your phone so far.

Hi,
I recently got Amazfit Stratos and I am wondering if there is a way to load Android Wear watch face on it? Or at least is there a way to port it? I am specifically interested in this one and wasn't able to find anything similar.
I am new to smart wearables but not new to Android development. Any pointers would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
G
It may work actually, but don't expect it to work when the device is in sleep mode (without the backlight)
Install this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/amazfit/dev-android-wear-framework-t3781906
Download the APK from the play store link you provided using any old APK downloader that's online, then extract the Wear APK from res/raw, install it on the watch and set it as the watch face. If it works, great! If it doesn't, you're probably out of luck
Thanks for the info!
Wondering if this requires unlocked bootloader?

I have been searching for a while for an easy way to install apps to my Amazfit Pace watch without having to connect it to a PC via ADB.
I have read many threads of people wrestling with the same issue.
I found a solutions that should work with most people with an amazfit watch, be it Pace, Pace 2 or Stratos. NO ROOT REQUIRED.
Install Amazmod form the Play store on your phone alongside the Amazfit App.
You also need to install the accompanying assistant on the watch by connecting it to the pc in the regular way. Many threads already explain how to install apk's on the watch.
Once that is done it is easy to install an APK directly from your phone to the watch wirelessly.
1) Download the dersired APK from the web (apk.tools or other known sources).
2) locate the apk with any installed file explorer
3) Share the file with the AmazMod app.
This will upload the apk to your watch and install it using ADB commands. It by-passes the internal installation limitation and the apk is installed.
That's it.
Hope this helps many people out there that like me have been looking for a solution.
Cheers!

Yes, latest AmazMod version lets you install APKs and WFZ directly from phone, wirelessly. And also uninstall APKs from watch using the app manager.
I already knew this but it's nice to see someone taking the time and effort of explaining how to do it for everyone else! Give that man a cigar lol lol..thanks mate ?
?
There's also an app called BugJaeger on the play store that let's you do this over wireless adb if anyone isn't using amazmod.
But it's great that amazmod now has it... One less app to keep on the phone.
Edit: just did an Install via amazmod and its incredibly seamless

Hi DaveCZ,
It means that Amazmod needs an assistant to be installed on the watch itself in order to work.
See also the link below to the developer's XDA thread on Amazmod.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/amazfit/app-amazmod-t3810252
This assistant needs to be sideloaded and installed on the watch. Once that is done, you will no longer need to tether your watch to the PC to install new apps.
Hope this helps.

Huawei does not support custom apps as well, however the newest one is about to support this feature. I do not know about Samsung, new ones sure as they started to collaborate with Google and use WearOS, as for Amazfit there is 5 models that will let you to install apps: Pace, Verge, Nexo, Stratos, Stratos 3.
The only way to know for sure is to watch reviews on YouTube or test yourself in the mall (I have MiStore in my city mall).
Hi, I've found quite a few of the Amazefit family of watches have apps on the android store to allow the button to be double or triple clicked to play music, skip tracks etc. Has anyone found a way to do this on the Bip u or Bip U pro, as the apps don't seem to support this model, and after searching the net I've not found anything? Thanks in advance for anyone who can help with this.

Hello, have you found any updates? I used to use my original Bip, but now i have run to the same problem.
I have found out, that you can use alternative way, to make shortcuts. You can you the Notify for amazfit app, which lets you to run actions, but with sliding back and forth from music selection. (it is not easy to describe). But I would still prefer the old method.
