ASUS "Z380KNL" problem with fastboot and gain root access - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
i have ASUS zenpad8 Z380knl (P024) with android 6.0.1 and updated OS. now have two problems :
1- i can't work with fastboot mode. when i reboot device with command " adb reboot bootloader " or " adb reboot-bootloer " or other, when device is rebooting i select menu " Enter SD down mode " and " fastboot devices " not work in Windows and Linux and Mac! (i have installed all of drivers for bootloader and fastboot and asus android devices in windows and full driver setup in linux and also USB debugging mode is enable)
2-i check to root devices with this applications : kingroot - kingoroot - drfone(wondershare) - root Genius and other. they don't have any root strategy for this device. from problem#1, i can't install TWRP and flash device (fastboot not work!)
can anyone help me??

[Q] Fastboot :waiting for devices (FOUND)

ok .. searched around but everything stops at unable to get fastboot working
I had it connect once .. but can't for the life of me remember how it was ..
I have the fastboot device driver in my window device manager ..
but when I'm in fastboot mode .. I can't get it to show devices (ie stuck at waiting for devices)
is there anything I missed ?
anyone has an image of the newer 3.2 bootloader I can flash in ?? ( IO unit .. so it goes either to fastboot or ODIN download)
Need to wipe data since it went into bootloop but I can't access recovery mode or fastboot
FIXED ISSUE : ok you need ADB interface and not the automatically installed driver from Nvidia (Nvidia Fastboot Device) ..
uninstall and delete the Nvidia driver from System devices
Scan for devices and browse for device
go to ADB / extras / google / usb and click OK
you should get ADB interface installed as device for FASTBOOT

[Help] can't install custom recovery on Lenovo Vibe C at all!

Hello
A newbie here ...
My new phone "Lenovo Vibe C (A2020)" does not allow me to install any kind of custom recovery on it, I tried the following methods ...
1- SP Flash Tool: doesn't detect my phone at all, even after installing all drivers (Qualcomm, MTK, Etc ,,, ).
2- Adb and fastboot: whenever I try to flash a recovery, it only shows (waiting for a device) command, even after being detected by "adb devices" command, and showing device ID.
3- flashing apps: I used flashify and thrasher, at the beginning they both show a successful flashing process, up until rebooting to recovery, then only shows "Lenovo" logo for a second right before turning the phone off.
that's what i did, any help would be appreciated.
Note: the phone isn't even indexed in the site's database ... I wonder why!
You should unlock the bootloader first after rooting your device
Hello there. I do hope that you can still boot your device normally. If you can, please do make a backup of your rom.
(a) Download and install the latest driver for your device
(b) Download the latest adb and fastboot tool (I recommend Minimal ADB and Fastboot)
(c) Download the custom recovery image. Save/copy it on the root directory of your ADB and Fastboot folder.
(d) In your device, go to settings > developer > enable oem unlocking and usb debugging (which is I guess you already did).
(e) Now open your terminal/cmd: adb reboot bootloader (this will boot your device in fastboot)
(f) In terminal/cmd: fastboot oem unlock (or fastboot oem unlock-go)
(g) Now flash the custom recovery: fastboot flash recovery "recovery.img"
***I suggest you try first if the custom recovery image works: fastboot boot recovery.img
(h) Reboot into recovery and check if it works.

ADB recognizes device only in recovery mode, not in fastboot mode

I'm running into issues with my Compact X. Current situation:
- Omni 8.1 rom installed, but doesn't boot. Stuck on Sony logo.
- TRWP 3.3
- Rooted
- When in fastboot mode (vol up + connect usb cable) the device manager shows: Android Device > Sony Fastboot Interface.
- Windows 10 running in "Test mode"
- adb & fastboot v1.4.3
ADB does not recognize my device when the device is in fastboot mode. When it's in recovery mode the command 'adb devices' shows me the device listed. I can then reboot in fastboot mode, but then the device isn't listed anymore. I'm not sure what happened because a couple of hours ago I installed TWRP using fastboot.
I'm trying to get this thing up and running again, but not being able to flash anything via fastboot complicates things. Any idea's what could be the culprit?
Download official Android drivers by Google and force Install them (search: Force Install Windows drivers" anywhere preferably YouTube

Thank you for your reply. As far as I know the official drivers were already installed. Because at first my device did show up listed when using the command 'adb devices' and I successfully flashed TWRP recovery. But to be sure I repeated the process:
- Connected my phone in fastboot mode (vol up + connect usb cable). The blue led lights up.
- Go to the device manager, right click on 'Android ADB interface' device and manually install the driver via 'Have disk'.
- The driver installs with no errors.
But still my phone is not listed and I cannot flash anything.
When the phone is in recovery mode it is listed using the 'adb devices' command. But when I'm trying to flash something I get the message <waiting for device> .
Ok, I restored my computer to a point before I started messing with my phone. After installing the official drivers my phone is still not listed (adb devices), but this time flashing did work. I managed to flash the AOSP 8.1 image. My phone is up and running again!

Huawei Nexus 6P unlock download mode in bootloader how?

Have decided to root my phone with Adb and fastboot devices in Windows 10 and also installed drivers sucessfully and i can se my phone in cmd when i type fastboot devices.
Have unlock the bootloader in the phone and Enabled USB failure search in Advanced settings in developers mode.
When i loaded the Twrp file in cmd with adb i could copy and write the file to my fastboot device but when i reboot the phone into bootloader i se that download mode are disabled.
How can you unlock download mode ?
When i try to reboot into recovery mode i get the Android bot with a red triangle into it.
Im guessing that happens for i dont have download mode enabled and im wounder is the Twrp file on my phone or have that setting stopped this process?

How to get Android Bootloader Interface with a cube U30 GT C4H

Hi,
I am new in this topic and not a great geek ans please excuse mi for my aprroximative english ! but i am trying to convert an old cube tablet to a domotic tablet. So i have to flash the old rom to a newer like lineageos for example.
So the tablet is an U30GT C4H with android 4.2.2 and the original rom.
I connect the device to my Mac Os and with adb tools (from plateform tools find here) and terminal i wrote adb devices (tablet on) i see the device. OK
When i command fastboot devices, nothing, no line
When i command adb reboot-bootloader, the tablet take off and the screen keep black. With the terminal fastboot devices, no response, with adb devices command > List of devices attached but no more, no device.
With this tablet it is possible to start in recovery mode with power + audio down but with this option i have the android logo and no command. If i take power on no change.
If with adb command and tablet on, i write adb reboot recovery, the tablet restart and the screen see logo android and no command.
I know this kind of topic do not interese a lot of people but i would like use this cube for my house to command domotic (music, heaters etc..). More, i think it's a shame not to recycle this type of device for the planet !!!
Thanx
Fastboot only works if in your tablet's Android's Settings -> Developer options the option OEM unlock got enabled and tablet got restarted afterwards.
i don't see any option OEM in the menu developer
I found that the solution is use slideload protocol. I reseted the tablet and now i get recovery mode. Then i can connect the tablet to my Mac and use terminal with slideload lines. OK
But each time the process failed with rom i found on the net...
Is there an universal rom !!!
Any idea ?
You don't have to boot the device into Recovery mode:
Code:
adb devices
adb reboot sideload
adb sideload <PROPERLY-SiIGNED-FILE.ZIP>
adb reboot
BTW: adb sideload is meant to re-flash Stock ROMs only.

maybe the issue is the rom i doawnloaded ?
it is kasty-cube_u30gt_h-411-111-rooted4_4gb.zip
or
kasty-cube_u30gtc4-441-20131212-rooted4.zip
both failed.
Perhaps i have to unlock the bootloader as you said but i don't know
I'm pretty sure the 2 mentioned ROMs are a Custom ROM. Hence you can't use adb sideload method to flash them. To install a Custom ROM it's required that a Custom Recovery already got installed on device's Android.
I don't find any way to instal a recovery. I had arctools.zip but the app failed to acess to the SD disk or internal storage...
