I'm very sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum or if this has already been asked. I did search but couldn't find anything.
What exactly limits the super slow motion to 0.2 seconds or whatever it is? Would it be possible to increase that to something higher?
If it was a matter of storage then I'd be more than happy to get a huge sd card for my phone but I suspect it might be limited by the ram capacity.
Any help would be great.
I completely agree with this. I also hate that you have to do it within a normal video. How about just slow mo? Press record. You're recording in slow mo. Press stop. It stops.

You can cut the video after recording.

Th limit is the DRAM that is a layer right underneath the image sensor.
Longer recordings with 960 fps are not possible.
Unlimited Recording is possible with normal SlowMo with 240fps in FULL HD

I have a issue for a long time with whatsapp. I can only film 6 seconds with the camcorder.
When i set the Razrs' camcorder at a lower resolution it won't help (WA still uses HD+).
Are there others with this issue? How long can you film?

Im sure the limit for whatsapp is only 12mb vidz which totally sucks and i can see why only 6 seconds.. Hope it helps!!
Usually happens when sd card is too slow. What is your Sdcard's class?
im waiting for a new SD card (ordered it last week), but i think it wont fix the problem.. But who knows
dont think it matters.. takin in mind that 12mb is the limit for videos being uploaded i dont see why they would increase it for camcorder vids!! thats my point of view..
u can prob just record the video normally.. use a video converter which would reduce size but retain a pretty good quality of the vid

I see the guys in the International LG G3 forum talking about recording slow mo, but I don't see any options for the video recording on the Sprint version

I found it! You go to the little gear icon in the top left of the camera application. Click the little "##M" icon that chooses megapixels... it drops down and let's you choose 120HD for slow mo.

Took me a couple of minutes to find also.
I'm glad they gave us the ability to record @ 120 but when it comes to editing how the video looks there are no options.
So even though we can play the video at 1/8 speeds (slowmo) we can't upload or share the video at the speeds. It then just becomes a 720p 120FPS video instead of slomo....
The question that I have is: Where is the ability to edit the video so that certain parts of the video can be slowed down?
Unless I'm missing something on the phone the software is a little lacking in this area.

Hello everyone.
I can only record video for 10 minutes and then phone automatically stops recording.
10 minutes limit is on FHD (1920x1080) 60fps option, if i turn to FHD but 30fps there is 25 minutes, but it's still not enough.
My card is formated in exFat, so 4GB problem doesn't exist.
Does anybody can make mod to camera apk to bypass this limit?

Same problem I noticed here. I'm trying to record road trips and that time limit surely doesn't help at all!
I'm saddened to see not a single reply yet.
I assume using some different camera apps could override that limit. Haven't tried though so can't confirm. Although I actually want to use the stock camera and prefer it over any other camera app.

After recording 4K for five minutes, feel how hot your phone gets. Put your finger on the camera lens housing, the tell me you want to hack it to keep recording. The phone practically melts down after five minutes, you definitely don't want to record for longer.

Thanks for the reply. I have been shooting a few 5 minute 4K videos and my V10 it didn't get extremely hot. I just got it last week, so there isn't much else on it but stock apps. My Note 3, on the other hand could melt an igloo if I just turn the camera on. No shooting required.

Yeah it's a bummer that we only get 5 minutes of recording, but our phones are using a method of software encoding to shoot 4K, and this process really heats up the cpu. Professional cameras that shoot 4K have a dedicated hardware encoding chip, so they can record nonstop. Someday mobile phones will have a solution like that, but today is not that day.
10 minute limit solved (mostly)
I found this problem on a Samsung S7 Active with Qualcomm CPU (AT&T branded phone). Samsung may have put a 10 minute limit on video for 2 potential reasons:
1. The phone gets very toasty if it's over 10 minutes at 4k.
2. 11m 30s seems to be the 4GB limit for 4k video, which may be a limiting file size for certain storage.
I solved this, but still have the limitation that every 11.5 minutes or so the video stops and starts again after a couple of seconds (because it's reached the 4GB storage limit).That's OK for my purposes, but might not work for you.
To get this working I first installed two apps:
1. Open Camera
2. No Screen Off
Open Camera is an open source camera app that can be downloaded free from the Google Play Store. It allows for 4k video recording for as long as you have storage (I had it recording for 3 hours without a problem).
You will need to do a couple of tweaks in the Open Camera app to get 4k video recording working:
* Settings | Video Settings | Video Resolution. Make sure it's HD 1280x720.
* Settings | Video Settings | Maximum Duration of Video. Make sure it's "unlimited".
* Settings | Video Settings | Restart on maximum file size. Set to "yes"
* Settings | Video Settings | Force 4K UHD video. Set to "yes" (this is the critical setting that worked for me on this device but may not work for you).
If you want to record to a storage card, go to Settings | More camera controls... | Use Storage Access Frameworks and turn it on. You should be able to use it to select the SD card folder to store photos and videos to.
That got me recording 4K video, but the screen times out which stops video recording. The max time I can set the screen to stay on for is 10 minutes (not much use!). So I used the "No Screen Off" app. Installing that and tapping the icon forces the screen to stay on indefinitely.
I've coupled this phone with a damaged screen ($37 from eBay), with a 64GB micro SD card and a power bank to provide power for 3 hours to make myself a cool 4K camera for recording concerts. I can afford to have several capturing different parts of the choir / orchestra to edit in post processing.

Since yesterday I'm trying to make "long" videos (~one hour) in HD1080p quality and everytime the size of the video exceed or is near 4Go the recording stops saying limit is reached.
Of course I tried to store in both internal memory and SD card the result is obviously the same.
So my question: is it possible to start a new file (recording) automaticaly? cause if the limit is FAT32 I'm afraid there is no alternative.
May be there is?
By the way, I'm using LineageOS 15.1 2018.02.18-UNOFFICIAL-mido and the default cam recorder.

You could use google cam to actually record better. (At 60 fps) and possibly you can record more than hour long videos.

Hi, in fact I just installed Open Camera and I think it will do. I can change lot of settings including if and when continue recording etc.
