Can the LG V30 do this? - LG V30 Questions & Answers

1: Use a voice phrase like "OK Google" to open the phone when the LOCK SCREEN IS ON.
2: Be able to take a a picture by telling google assistant to "take a picture" and doing nothing more.
Need a high end hands-free phone that can do these so I do not have to unlock my phone while I am driving or doing other things.

Google Assistant can unlock the phone by voice command "OK Google", and then open the camera app when you say "Take a picture", but it can't actually snap the picture for you.
You then have to use one of the LG verbal commands (like "cheese" or "whiskey") to take the picture.

So, combo of Google Assistant and built in camera voice commands, YES. In the camera options, you want to turn on "Cheese Shutter". There's a choice of 4 words listed that will auto snap a picture
I just did all this (unlocked the display, open the camera app, take a picture) all with voice commands prior to writing this post.
I've used the "cheese shutter" option to take pictures in cramped corners behind equipment where I need to read serial numbers or whatnot. Put your hand back there with the camera, say the word. No need to touch the screen.

I do it all the time.
"OK Google."
"How can I help?"
"Call Home"
"Calling Home"
Phone starts dialing.
Sub in whatever contact or phone number you like.
I did it three times today while driving, calling a friend, a cousin, my wife.

You dont have to wait for it to respond, you can say your command right after ok google. You just waste so much time if you did that.

You're wrong, at least for my phone. I have to wait for it to open up and respond. If I do it sooner it (sometimes?) doesn't hear all my command.
Because I've tried it your way and it doesn't work when I'm driving, and then I have to start over. If I wait for the interface to open and show the "How can I help" before telling it to dial, it ALWAYS works.
Maybe it would work your way sometimes, maybe even most of the time. I don't know. But when I encounter failure like that, I go back to what I know will work ALL the time.
