Where are my photos? - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Galaxy S9+
Some photos does not appear in Gallery app, but in My Files app, when I open the camera folder all photos are there.
Any Ideas?

It will be in dcim directory either on phone or memory card, depending on your settings you choose. I did pick up that depending on what type of photos/vidoes/ar etc is taken, will depend where it stores the pics etc...not everything is stored in dcim anymore

Check to see if they are in your secure folders app.

[Q] Gallery Question..

I am running TnT Lite 4.4 (Love it).
I have moved some pictures onto both the internal sdcard and sdcard2. But gallery does not pick them up and display them. It sees my picasa pics, but nothing local.
I do not see any options under Gallery to set a local directory.
Does nayone know how to configure Gallery to look at a local dir for pictures?
I'm seeing the same thing. So far in searches I haven't found an answer.
Additional behavior, if I browse to a picture in the file manager it opens with gallery, but the only controls that work are the zoom in/out. The more and share controls will briefly show and then disappear if you long press.
Me too...
I have been having Gallery problems for some time now, about 2 weeks to be exact. I get no thumbnails, and no gallery found. Nothing I have tried to do will show the pics on my gtablet. However, if I go into an app like RootExplorer, and go to the folder with pics, I can get them to be displayed by apps like Just Pictures, etc. Even Gallery will display the individual pics but very slowly.
So far, have not been able to conquer this problem. I was told to add a folder named .nomedia . But that did not work.
It's aggravating not having Gallery working.

[Q] Gallery app without folder groupings

Dear all,
I am looking for a gallery app with the option to display all photos on my android without being grouped into folders, so they display all at once.
I have a couple of camera apps which store photos in their own separate folders, and it's becoming a bit of a mess. Of course I could move all photos (and downloaded pictures) into one folder, but I would need to be doing this regularly.
Any ideas?
Cheers
gallery... all photos...
or get quickpic and add all the folders and none of the junk ones.
Thanks, but that's not quite what I meant.
I want the any gallery app which will display ALL of the photos/images on the sd card without having me choose a folder first.

[Q] Gallery Subfolders?

Is there a way to get the gallery to not display all subfolders or another app that can? I have several hundred wedding pictures I moved to my SD card in about 10 subfolders all under one folder called Wedding Pictures. When I open the gallery I can see all the subfolders, I would like to just see the main folder at first. I also tried Quickpic, that isn't displaying properly either.

[Q]Add folder to picture gallery

I changed the storage location for the pictures taken from the phone's camera to an external SD card. After I did this when I open the gallery application the photos that are stored in the new location and any new taken from the phone don't show up. Is there a way to manually add the new location of the photos so I can seem them from the gallery? TIA

Click to collapse
They should show up. Did you try rebooting?
Very funny. It was almost as if there was some sort of issue with the SD card not being able to see the files. It was as if they were deleted. I unmounted/remounted a couple times and rebooted and they finally showed back up. Thanks for the reply.
edit: now all of my timestamps are incorrect, but much better outcome than not having my pictures at all.
edit 2: quickpic application has a feature to use the metadata from the image instead of file timestamp. back to normal.

Do Gallery Apps use their own storage?

When I take a picture, the picture goes to DCIM folder of my phone. Does each gallery app copy the picture from DCIM to its own storage? If I installed two gallery apps on my phone, will I be using twice the storage for my picture? or the Apps will just share the pictures in DCIM.
Your doubt every gallery app use the one storage dcim which it shows it no affects how many gallery app u have if u have thousands of gallery apps the all will show one folder called DCIM
