Need stock ROM with encryption for X829 - LeEco Le Max 2 Questions & Answers

Hi all
To login to my work account I need to have non-modified stock rom with encryption. Somehow what I have (5.9.026s) cannot do encryption. Any idea which ROM I can use? Thanks!

You can use last official EUI for x829. It's 5.8.20s. It's pretty stable, has some new designed UI and encryption.

Complete noob, getting a Le Max 2

Hey all,
I've just ordered a Le Max 2 from some mob in China. When it arrives in 2021 I hope to install a clean Oreo rom.
The problem is I'm new to all this jazz. I can follow a walkthrough successfully, and without killing the cat etc, but I don't know which walkthrough/guide to follow!
Is there a stock Oreo rom for the Le Max 2? Is 'stock' the right word here? I mean from Android/Google.
If not, is the Lineage rom ok?
I just want a clean phone, no crap installed, higher version of Android the better.
Also, I noticed a firmware page. Do I have to update my firmware first? Or after Rom installs?
thanks all

Hey. Welcome to the group.
There's no stock ROM for Oreo. We only have EUI 5.8/5.9 (Marshmallow). Lineage is okay, but as of now Oreo custom ROMs have bugs. One is low mic volume in calls, another is that you can't use Slow Motion Mode in modded GCam. In a new Oreo Custom ROM (Dirty Unicorn) it has GPS and Fingerprint bug, not sure about low mic volume but the Slow Motion Mode bug is still there (because of OSS HALs)
I suggest you flash Nougat if you want minimal bugs.
I think Marshmallow custom ROMs have no bugs at all (someone confirm) but the security patch is old.
You don't have to be on latest stock ROM, just flash the latest TWRP and start flashing ROMs.
Good luck!

Use google my friend flashing roms and learning about adb and fastboot is quite fun (well for me it is ). It's quite straight forward, you just need to have the proper software and drivers.
Lineage rom is good, it's updated quite frequently and most of the time has minimal bugs. go with nougat as my colleague suggested. Also i think it's ok to stay with just stock firmware Eui is quite nice i guys.
Just remember to backup everything and save it in a safe place before trying something for the first time If you are afraid of doing something and want a quick answer you can PM me, i will try to answer asap

What I can say from my personal experience. First, stock EUi is a crap. Also, abandoned, since LeEco company does not exist anymore. Second, 7.1 or 8.1? I would recommend Lineage 15.1 (Oreo 8.1). It's most stable for me. I found any other rom based on Lineage more buggy than stock Lineage 14.1 is stable too, but why to choose older Android?
Install procedure is pretty easy. You need to unlock bootloader, flash twrp, then flash rom + gapps, that's all.
BTW as you can see, there may be many opinions. But it's not risky to test various custom roms and choose the one that is the best for you. Don't hestitate to try many roms, it's not a pain at all. Actually, it's a fun.

How to remove root completely from Poco F1 installed with Android 9 based custom roms

Dear All,
I have bought POCO F1 in the first sale and I am very happy with its performance. Once there were Android Pie based custom roms, I have enthusiastically tried some of them. I have to thank all developers here for their relentless efforts in bringing the most updated features to our beloved POCO F1. I just have a small problem, I rely a lot on banking apps and all of them complaint that my device is rooted on Android 9 roms. I know that I can hide root by using Magisk but I dont want to use it. I want to know how to remove the root completely rather than hide it. So, Kindly give me some information as to how Android 9 based rom can be completely unrooted.
Unistall Magisk
I have the same issue......my ROM came prerooted.....is there to remove root completely....
You'll have to try different ROMs until you find one that works for you (i'd Start from Pixel experience)
I never had this problem so i have a feeling that you might have missed a step.
(Did you wipe system, data, davlik before flashing?)
(Did you flash an encryption disabler? because you shouldn't)
Just flash a stock Fastboot package. That's the only true reliable way to "unroot" a device.
If your ROM came pre-rooted, it's either a crap ROM or is still being built in userdebug mode for dev purposes. If it's the latter, unrooting is a bad idea and probably won't solve anything anyway. So either accept it, or use a different ROM.

Should I use a custom rom?

First of all : I know that this is already explained a hundred times in different topics created around poco's forums. Still, it's not very clear yet to me.
I used to like the MIUI skin and it's features, but lately, because of the bad development in global stable rom and a lot of delay in the updates, I'm planning on going to custom roms.
Last time I used a custom rom was at time of cyanogenmod 13, in my old Moto g (falcon). In that time, I didn't used bank apps, I used to like root apps, root wasn't a problem to banks/Netflix/other apps, my camera didn't had some features like the blur, infrared camera and such things. And that's exact my point. I'm afraid of those things in custom rom: safetypass on bank apps, problems in buggy camera, I'm not used to this "dfe", it's not very clear how to flash, when flash, etc. I'm afraid to lost my IR, I don't want to flash magisk also, but sounds like a very must thing in custom roms lately. I'm atraid to get play store uncertified also.
I like too many features, but I don't plan to use a rom with a lot, because I want a bug free and with good battery and performance too, so I'm going to a stable rom.
Should I use a custom rom or stay on MIUI global stable?
Yes Flash A Custom Rom!
It honestly all depends on you, however, if you are concerned with stability I wouldn't be. Poco's root community is really large and most of the custom ROMs that have been around for a while are really smooth. I personally despised using MIUI, it wouldn't have even been that bad had Xiaomi fixed their gigantic screw up with the notification system. Not to mention unnecessary bloat is on the entire OS and its not really much of a stock Android experience. When I buy new phones I only buy ones that can be rooted and romed because thats essential to me. I currently use the Pixel Experience Rom and I have found it to be the best. While the performance of the rom is on par with the other roms available for this device, its animations are much more fluid. Plus the google camera that comes preinstalled in it works flawlessly, and you can always flash the xiaomi camera zip if you want those features. However, if you want more customizability I would opt for another rom like Reserrection Remix.
When it comes to DFE from my experience you don't have to flash it, you would just have to enter in you passcode each time on boot. Not flashing DFE however can cause problems when you want to flash new updates as the device may still be encrytped. Plus the DFE zip includes magisk so you will pass safetynet. Im able to use most banking apps and netflix just fine on my phone. Plus if you are on MIUI right now and have updated to the latest you probably also have L1, which will transfer over to any custom rom you flash. Heres a typical flash process:
1. Backup Data
2. Wipe everthing on the phone except internal storage and format data if needed
3. Flash the rom zip
4. Flash GApps if needed
5. Flash DFE (Which includes magisk)

Thanks for the information. Tomorrow I'll unlock my BL, and flash probably the PE, or AOSiP. That was very clarifying to me. Just one more question: play store is certified? Because in my last Xiaomi, except for Xiaomi.eu (I didn't had roms like LOS ir RR, just MIUI based), even the MIUI based roms had problems with play store.

Can Poco F1 be re-enrolled to Intune MDM after flashing with custom ROM?

I have a Poco F1 (8 GB, 256 GB) that I use as a primary device for my personal communications as well as work.
To access corporate apps, It's enrolled into Intune MDM (Mobile Device Management) and I was wondering if moving to lineage or any other custom ROM would prevent me from MDM enrollment. It's currently on MIUI 12.0.3 | Android 10 and I was planning to move to gain some battery life + next android version by flashing the device.
Has anyone flashed their device and re-enrolled into MDM successfully without any major headache? I also want to know if your payment apps such as Paytm/GPay/Amazon Pay will work just fine on a custom ROM or not. I have been out of touch with flashing/modding for a while now. So, if you have any ROM/Kernel recommendations that you have for Poco F1, please do share it.
Thanks!
No idea about Intune MDM but Paytm/Bhim/GPay, YONO etc. all work fine in conjunction with MagiskHide. Only Axis Mobile app doesn't work. Still on Magisk v23 so I haven’t tried v24 and the new DenyList which is supposed to be even better.
I have been using crDroid almost exclusively for the past almost 2.5 years. Very stable with plenty of customization options and excellent battery backup. I haven't tried crDroid 8.x based on A12 yet.
Hi Yes. I am using it for my work email. I have flashed my POCO F1 with Pixel Experience Android 12 rom and Magisk 24.1 for hiding root (using Zygisk) service.
It works well with Intune and MDM. I have tested this with Lineage OS 18.1 as well.
One thing is do not disable Encryption when you burn a new ROM. With this Intune behaves much better.

Calyx OS vs /e/OS. Which one for PocoF1?

Which ROM should I use in my PocoF1? Have following to consider:-
As a 4-year old device, my PocoF1 had battery drainage problem back in Awaken OS and StagOS. Currently it is on Arrow OS and battery seems fine (default kernel). The only reason I consider changing is the updates. The system updated last on February 2022. It detects September update but cannot do the update process. Is Arrow OS web having some issues?
I want degoogled experience. I don't use any Gapps, nor even microG. No google account either. Privacy is important for me. I am also considering encryption in my internal card. I want my system to be updated on security line.
Not a gamer. No heavy user. Just casual user for videos, mail, chat and study.
I am torn between /e/ OS (which I used to have fine experience, but didn't like launcher, and also its update would reset everything of my system), and Calyx OS (gives very good security and privacy, but did not try myself for long).
Which one would you recommend? Any suggestion would be helpful. Also please tell me if i need to consider sth extra for encryption. Thanks.
DivestOS is supposed to be more secure than Calyx OS. Personally I have used Awaken A12 for close to a month and experienced no battery drain. Otherwise crDroid for almost the entirety of the ~3.5 years I have used F1. AFAICT all A12 ROMs come encrypted by default. In case of A13 some ROMs don't force encryption.

Divest would be my perfect if i t had not camera issue. Also the rooting is not possible in Divest, but I want to use magisk and root apps.
CrDroid is interesting, but I do not want any google account in my system. Does the ROM come in pristine variant? I saw only one variant of the ROM, which is almost certainly bloated with gapps.

Oh I see. I did not see any mention of this important information in the download page at a first glance and I assumed myself. Thanks. I will try.
And I have tried CrDroid ROM and is pristine as pure.
