Of course this topic was thousands times rolling, but..
I've flashed my phone with indian ICS and in google play my phone is still called "Plus Sony MT27i" as my vendor.
Where are this things hidden in software?
Of course all apps are from Indian software. So it's branded Indian - not debranded.
So, how to REALLY debrand my sola? SI change, or something more?
I have a Xperia Z Ultra with android 4.2.2 branded on Tele-2 Netherlands.
I still haven't received the update jet, but can't find any information about the release from Tele-2 Netherlands
I also tried manually updating with flashtool, but this doesn't seem to work
Really looking for an answer, please help me

this thread is for android development. ROM's/ Kernel/ system... Members go to the Q&A section to specifically help others.. So next time go to the question and answer thread... you'll get more help... :good:
If you Ultra is branded or locked to a carrier then you wont be able to update using flashtool. (unless its specifically for your carrier based unit)
You will have to wait for your carrier to push the update directly to its customers.
I also live in the Netherlands. My ultra is not carrier based. At the moment using Vodafone in the past Telfort. But i also didn't received the update yet. I assume countrys like the Netherlands and Belgium are on the bottom of the list.
I never saw anybody else with an ultra overhere, and getting out of the reactions when i'm using the device otber people also saw this phone before
Making the phone carrier free isn't that big of a deal, i think. When lurking the forums at xda you'll find a method i assume. You can looking in the general android part of the forum (interesting stuff overthere), the sony xperia Z and Z1 forums can also be beneficial.
Hi everyone I have some doubts I hope you can clear for me.
This Monday I buyed an awesome Z2 with my local carrier (TIM-Telecom Italia Mobile) for 15 eur per month
Today I saw on Sony's website that the latest update right now is 17.1.2.A.0.314 and had already solved the camera overheating problems on FW 17.1.1.A.402 which is my main complain about the phone.
I hate to be outdated having I high end phone
So I'm thinking about debrand the phone but I'm afraid I could avoid warranty if so.
I saw this tutorial:
xperiablog.net/2014/06/01/debrand-your-xperia-z2-tutorial
Is it safe? It doesn't matter if I use that UK rom on my italian phone? Can't I use another generic rom to do the process (i.e an italian one)? I can return to the stock TIM rom if anything happens and they will accept it for warranty?
Sorry if these are such newbie questions but I just buyed the phone it's awesome and I don't wanna lose it
Thanks ^^

if your device is a Xperia Z2 LTE (D6503) then all for a Z2 (D6503) will work without problem on YOUR Z2 (D6503), unless you have a Z2 D6502 then look for D6502 files
take note that your xperia Z2 warrenty from sony will be voided if you unlock your bootloader or root your device

Thanks I used a generic italian 1.17.1.2.A.314 and everything went well
I own an Xperia Z5 and patiently waited for the Marshmallow update when I noticed that it was already released which made me look in the software info. Apparently I have a carrier branded stockware installed, on a phone from which I thought isnt branded at all.
I got it from someone else so it may be possible that he flashed it himself. So now to my question: How do I know if this is the original stockware or not?
Hi, my m4 is now working with 26.1.A.2.167 / R16A "Jazztel ES", and I wanted to know if there would be any problem flashing 26.1.A.3.111 / R12A "3 AT". Phone is not rooted. Will this lock the phone or brick it or something?
I'm kind of noob in this, but I managed to download that firmware from xperiafirm and to bundle it and to flash CyanogenMod roms in my old xperia V, but I was having second thoughts abouth flashing it because of this carrier thing and I wanted to ask first.
Thank you!
Sure you can flash it. Be sure not to flash simlock.ta too.
