Hello, I recently unlocked my bootloader & would like to root my device, but I want to keep my stock recovery. So its there any way to root without flashing twrp? ie. Flashify/flashfire etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Have you unlocked officially or unofficially? How many days it took you to unlock officially after receiving the sms from Xiaomi? I got my request approved since 13th July, yet unable to unlock bootloader as it stucks on 50% and gives account different error all the time. Have you changed your ROM to get it unlocked? Thanks in advance for your help.

i never tried Flashify/flashfire. but if you want to stay on STOCK then you can flash CHINA DEV ROM it have native root support you can flash it via MIFLASH (CHINA DEV HAVE SOME PROS AND CONS DO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BACKUP) DO AT YOUR OWN RISK
TWRP can be booted temporarily without flashing it. While in fastboot mode device attached.
Code:
fastboot boot <name of twrp.img>
Requested unlock privileges late Sunday Night and received permission late Tuesday Night.
My device arrived on Wednesday, was able to unlock it by Updating to developer rom and using the unlock tool on Thursday.
For FlashFire to work you need a rooted device. Also flashfire has not been tested on the RN3 Pro devices.
Hi, i have bootloader unlock unofficially, after two months apply to order the sms to officially unlock, as can officially unlock when I already have unofficially?

I cannot unlock my bootloader for some reason now. I had applied for permission around a year and a half back, I got the permissions, unlocked the bootloader and flashed a lot of ROMS. When I flashed MIUI through fastboot, the bootloader got locked again. Now I want to try some ROMS, but I cannot unlock the bootloader. It goes all the way till 99 percentage and it then gives the message 'Current Account cannot unlock this device'. I have permissions and everything because when I go to the mi unlock site I'm directed to the download page, not to the application page. Also, when I try to bind the account to my phone in Mi Unlock status in developer options, it keeps saying 'Couldnt Verify, wait a minute or two and try again'. I've waited for a day and it still doesn't work. I only have one sim card in my phone(the one which I used to get permission) but still it keeps saying the same message again and again.
Please help!
Regards.
Hello. Though I never had the problem (was on NOS rom before I messed something and had to flash miui rom via fastboot and relocked bl, I easily reunlock again using official method like the first time).
Before unlocking, make sure your phone are locked by using cmd "fastboot oem device info" or something like that I forgot. And your phone developer option have allow oem unlocking ticked on. Make sure your phone mi account logged in and of course matched with the one on your pc/laptop. Have good usb cable, drivers, and stable internet. Also you can try unlocking using another version of miui rom (the one you used for the first unlocking).
Don't know if those helps though.
I had the same problem for almost 2 months, asked on the miui forum and nobody helped so i just unlocked it unofficially, works great! On RR N now!
Same
I have the same problem, and also I know a lot of people with it. It seems that xiaomi has banned the unlock tool I don't know why...

Yeah its not an issue with all devices, I do have colleagues who have managed to unlock it officially, but still its a problem for a lot of people.
I have the exact same problem. Stuck at 99 when trying to re unlock, on both miui 8 and 9. I didnt bother trying to unlock with developer roms, just used the method to flash twrp without bl unlock. All good now on nos 8.
I'm happy with flash twrp only without unlocking bootloader since I got root access anyway
Why are you people trying to unlock bootloader when it's not even necessary on our phone? Just look on the forums a little bit more and you won't struggle anymore trying to unlock.

Hi , just manage to add account and device without errors on mi note 3 by using SoloVpn app from playstore set to China .
Now i am waiting 72 hour's to proceed unlocking.
Apparently the error on add account and device starting with 80xxx and some Chinese text it's blocking the unlocking tool.

Hi. I bought my redmi note 4 sd from someone and the bootloader already unlocked when i received it..my question is, if i accidently formatted my phone using mi flash tool and accidently clicked the clean and lock option, do i need to request the bootloader unlock code again? Or will i be able to unlock it again?

I don't think you need to raise unlock request.Need to enable developer option and allow OEM unlocking.
fastboot oem unlock is sufficient for unlocking after lock by Mistool..
But, it would always configure your mi id for the device before starting.....

Nope, most of the time it isn't going to relock the bootloader. (98% of the time it won't)
I raise request unlock bootloader last night and today morning i received sms from miui to unlock the bootloader and follow thebinstruction. i guess its not wrong trying ? once again to unlock bootloader..since previous owner already request to unlock bootloader! Maybe thats the reason i receive the unlock sms not even 1day because its already requested in the past..
I impulsively unlocked the boot-loader on my Mate 20 Pro last night because Funky Huawei was selling the codes for $20. Today I can't really think of a good reason I actually need the bootloader unlocked since I have no interest in rooting my phone and there are update methods for manually flashing firmware that don't require an unlocked bootloader. In fact, the tool posted on XDA for updating firmware with an unlocked bootloader apparently requires that you be rooted to use it.
Is there a way to relock the bootloader?
The only mention I could find in these threads was someone who said you need to factory reset the phone and then go back into fast-boot. I don't think the person who wrote that even tried it and that he was just making a generalization.
Does anyone know if there are actual steps that relock the bootloader without bricking the phone--which the e-recovery restore method might do since it will try to install an older firmware than is currently on my phone.
I might just keep it unlocked anyway but I was curious if there was a known relock method that works on this phone.

Use dload method, but pba that will erase everything like your 1st setting of your phone. Phone will be locked again, FRP will still unlocked.

does dload method altso come with recovery_ramdisk fixed? for us that have modified it for root or twrp??
So that the device becomes out of the box like new?
Yes, recovery_ramdisk back to stock with dload method

i can confirm dload method lock back the bootloader.
i had install an alternate fw but was not satisfied cause too much features were not working, i used first erecovery to download official fw but unlock bl was still present. then i try dload and phone was completly reset with bl locked.
dload method isn't working for me. I extracted the UPDATE.APP from the firmware version that is currently installed on my phone (using the update_full_base version), created a dload folder on my external card, copied the UPDATE.APP into that folder and then did the dial code and selected update from memory card. My phone reboots and then I get an error that says that the update failed.
Do I need to use the UPDATE.APP from a specific build to get this to work?
I installed firmware via the Funky Huawei method. It seems to have relocked the bootloader because the warning about the bootloader being unlocked doesn't come up when the phone boots but the data on my phone wasn't erased. Can the bootloader be relocked without erasing all the data on the phone? If so this is the first I've heard of it.

Will we able to reclaim warranty after relock? Anyway the service guys would be able to know that the bootloader was unlocked before?
Soo what is the legit way to relock the bootloader and the FRP?
is the FRP from stock/defualt locked?
