Hello,
I wouldlike to build a rom from AOSP source. I'm not a dev and i never use ubuntu but if i found a step by step tuto, i think i can do it.
I found many tuto on the web and i think this tuto looks good:
https://source.android.com/setup/build/building
I have a PC with i3 8gb ram ssd 250gb and a fast internet connexion so i think it's can be good if i use dual boot windows/ubuntu with 100gb space.
What i don't understand in all of the tuto is where we add information about the hardware device?
Can i build AOSP 8.1 rom for kenzo?
Many guides are based on lineageOS but if we want AOSP rom, can we do that without lineageOS repo?
Thanks
id love to try aosp 8.1

MIUI8 for UMI PLUS
Recently, I ported MIUI8 to UMI PLUS using the patchrom on github-micode. I was able to compile and get a zip file. But, after flashing the rom, I am stuck on a bootloop.
I looked at the errors using logcat but can not solve them.
So if somebody gets to push my job or guide me to the end so that we can all enjoy it ... I'm listening to you.
Based version ported on marshmallow 6.0: Plus V3.01_20161019 ROM (available on umi forum)

"ANY HELP?"
Thank you for your attention.
If you get it working please make it puplic
Btw what is Linux 16.04? You mean Ubuntu 16.04 right?
Yes I meant Ubuntu 16.04
It is already public on mediafire, no ?
Hi dgshow ! Thank you very much un advance for your port. I know nothing about port. But for your bootloop, use sp flash tool with the ROM an full erase + update.
Any update? Interesting project... Se could solve alla issues of chiese stock Fw in this way...
Hello everyone,
First of all, thanks to all the developers who revived this orphan child of Xiaomi.
I want to use this pad as a daily driver. Which custom ROM would be preferable. I have seen Lineage OS 14.1 (Stock blobs) and LOS 14.1, 15.1 (Shield Blobs) by smoke team. They are nice.
Stablity and smoothness/swiftness are my primary requirement. I don't want most feature packed rom.
Thank you.
I would say any Shield blob rom would do. I would prefer 14.1 versions because I watch a lot of youtube with this thing.
I run atm: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-pad/development/rom-resurrection-remix-n-v5-8-5-xiaomi-t3734895 and I am very happy. Everything works just fine and comparing to stock blobs 14.1, the shield one beats it 100-0.
Hi,
I’m asking your help because i’m getting lost, i explain :
I’ve got a Acer Liquid Jade S (Acer S56) with a MT6752 CPU, it’s currently on Android 5.1 and i want to « port » higher Android from another phone with the same soc.
I already tried in august and july to build my own rom for this device but i never did it before, it was my first « rom building experiment » and nothing so far, it’s too hard for me, there is no device tree at all so ^^’
The good thing as i already said, there is a lot of other phone with the same CPU like Lenovo K3 Note, Lenovo P70, Jiayu S3 with latest android version custom rom.
I ported a 5.1 stock rom from the Lenovo P70 and it’s work (but still 5.1..) because the rom was x86 and that’s the issue...
There is a lot of rom but they are all x64 and i only got a x32 rom with my Acer (the cpu is compatible x64, strange choice from acer).
So i’m asking, how can i port if i don’t have a x64 kernel and « x64 base stock file », like lib64, it is possible ? Acer guive the Kernel Source, but for Kitkat, i’m asking if there is no way to « upgrade it » to support higher Android version and add x64 compatibility, but will it work (probably with some bug but don’t care ^^) ?
Because i don’t have the lib for 64, I know it’s possible because i look myself on lenovo website and they provide Android 5.1 x32 and not 64. Someone ported the stock rom to x64 but i didn’t find how…
Can you please help me ? I know that phone start to be « old » but it’s good for me, i’m not a Android « gamer », just want most recent android because apps starts to be not compatible with 5.1
Thanks
Any idea ?

Lately i have noticed some youtube tutorials of how to install android 11 R (which is currently in developer mode). And seems as if many devices especially ARM64 devices are being used including J7, A3, and other A series phones.
They are using gsi roms from either google android developer webpage or Erfan's GSI roms for their tutorials
The features are pretty much the same with android 10 because not much work has said yo be not done yet.
Was just wondering if it was possible to try it on our A10.
Im not sure if there are galaxy A10 phones with ARM64, but many i saw have A64 with A/B partitions which means they use A64AB gsi roms.
Is there anyone who tried it yet? Or is it even possible or we will have to wait for other stable versions to come.
Thank you

A10 has only 2GB of ram. It's stock firmware is therefore ARM (32 bit). That's why you can only install A64 A/B GSIs on it.
To try Android 11, you must wait for someone to build it specifically for A10..
