If changing ROMs doesn't make a difference, it must be one of the apps you are using.

It's not that difficult to change the battery.
But before doing so, try a ROM based on MIUI, like this for example:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi...HMNote4X_V9.5.2.0.NCFCNFA_v9-7.0.zip/download
It's based on the latest China Stable ROM. See if this will improve your battery life. You can flash it in TWRP just like any other custom ROM

And now using custom roms as they giving much sot.
If I want miui ROM I will flash multipro which will give around 8 to 11 hrs of sot with velvet kernel.
Still no hope . I noticed one thing though.. My charge was 6% and the phone turned off, i plugged in the charger, it showed 6% on the boot charging logo, then I start the device at the same time it shows 46% inside UI. i turned off my mobile to check, still the charge stays at 46% . How do i get 40% charge in a min?

Flash sirkays 6.1.1 ics kernel. In which you can use your phone for 2 days
Then flash hybrid rom(2.3)--I choose this rom coz it is lite and can run very smooth even in 800mhz
Then under clock your phone to 800mhz and use conservative governor

Thanks but I don’t think you understood me. Even though I do have battery problems concerning its life it is not the problem I am posting here for. The problem is that my phone is unable to measure battery percentage for some reason..

Charge your phone to 100% (421)and then calibrate it....IT SHOULD WORK
maybe reflash ics firmware or change battery or take it to repair center
Just restart your phone.
r
When I plug my charger percentage remains frozen so can’t see wen it is fully charged. And when I try to calibrate it just says 0% battery spent for example when calibrating web browsing... It is as if some battery sensor burned out or something. Could that be the case?

No it didn’t it just started couple of days ago.
The thing is that I can read my battery status via hard battery calibrator script which means that sensors are still operating. but I cant recharge my phone via usb and I cant reed my battery status on it (in status bar). Also my battery time is extremely poor - like 12 hours max on very little usage (about 8 hours of me sleeping included) or like 3-4 hours of heavy usage. Is there any one here with knowledge to help me? Thanks in advance

Hey!
I´m running Omega on my S3 and I love it but since I first installed it I´ve been having problems with the battery, it seem like it is just getting worse and worse.
I think I am getting 1/3 of what I got with the stock ROM.
Any ideas?
Before i have the omega rom and i have the same problem
i have install the Android Evolution HD and it's very better !!
Problem , Android Evolution HD is a simply rom like the original rom, but you have mods ^^
I have exactly samr situation as above poster, Omega and Android Revolution HD.
But I figure, at least to me, it is possible due to 2G/3G network connection
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I've been using Omega for quite some time now and I've tried many settings to maximize battery life like shutting off radio signals, disabling fast dormancy, even using a darker wallpaper to save that extra bit of juice...but i must say this rom just finds a way of sucking all the battery out some way or the other.
I might try Android Revolution now hmm
Thanks guys!
First I thought it was something wrong on the hardware side but now I am sure it´s the ROM.
It´s a shame because I really like some of the features and aside from eating battery fast it also freezes, stops and turns into a brick for a minute or two sometimes. My beloved SGS III is no longer very reliable but I thought those were the consequences of starting to play with the ROM, this is my first time I do something to my Android phone. I´ve been jailbreaking and trying different things on iPhones but never on Android.
Seems like the only solution is to try a different ROM.

Yes, everytime after flashing a new ROM, you got to do this and give it a few days for the newly flashed ROM to settle down to be able to measure battery life better.

If I understand correctly, wipe battery stats only remove battery statistics, it does not improve battery life. See:
http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...-battery-stats-does-not-improve-battery-life/
Maybe check the Battery usage in Setting.
I get 48 hours on a single charge through configurations on Perseus. I opened up a thread to detail the config.

Same problem here on Cm. Just charge your phone until 100%,calibrate your battery by deleting batterystats.bin via twrp or with a battery calibration app. I did calibrate my battery two days ago and besides phone was charged 100%, after calibration shew 87%. After this you will see just an improvement.....

Try vova vafin cm12.1
Flash this twrp, it's just perfect: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwdRTuyj12_yR2xMREVkZnBacDA/view
In order to calibrate the battery via twrp you have to:
boot into TWRP recovery

folder /data/system/
click batterystats.bin
click Delete
reboot system
If, after all these, problem with battery still exist, then consider of buying a new one

This is similar to what is happening to my RN2.http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-2/help/uptime-recovery-shutdown-0-battery-t3497868
With last charge it did ~1:45 SOT on normal usage.
After it shut down, I restarted and it was at 2% and I watch a video for 45 minutes before it went off again
Finally I did 30 minutes on TWRP with 50% screen brightness.
Which ROM are you using?
EDIT:
can you do the test with recovery?
After it shut down:
- boot into recovery
- set the screen brightness to 50% if you can
- time how long it remains on

Hi all. From a month to now I'm facing an odd problem with my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 SD International. First of all I tried several ROMs: both MIUI Global and Developer, LOS, RR, LegendROM, AOSP Extended and XenonHD: in every of these ROMs, battery performances are quite poor: two months ago screen on time was not less than 9 to 10 hours, now it's hard to reach 6 hours of SOT. I have to charge the phone every two days instead of three. I tried several kernels and power consumpion profile but they didn't help. Is my battery faulty? How con I solve this problem?

Done, let's try it!
I'm sure it's planned obsolescence. The redmi note 2 had the same bug. It drained quickly and charged quickly too. But when you let it drain to 0%, and powered it back on, it still had 35% left. You could still use your phone for 1h after that.
Overnight charge is okay, just don't let it drain to 0%... You should charge your phone everyday. Not once in 3 day.

Assuming the battery was charged every 3 days, are you usually use it from 100 until it's very low power or empty??
if yes, then your battery might already broken...
its because full cycle usage will degrade battery performance faster, just do full-cycle when the battery meter is not accurate to calibrate it, otherwise don't let it fall under 10% or even 0%.
Believe it or not. Battery gets weaker and phone tends to easily heat up after we begin torturing our phones by unlocking and flashing tons of ROMs very frequently. In such Flashing back fastboot images also doesn't bring back that wow factor of the phone.
This is my personnel experience with 5 Android phones till date. The one locked and unrooted is still giving best backup.
But yea we obviously miss some wow mods of xda like Viperfx being unrooted.
Hi, I've opened a thread describing my situation, you can take a look at it if you want to, it may help in finding the solution. I would appreciate if anyone could help me.
The problem is causing buy the wifi.
The phone have a wifi issue.
I write a tread about this.
I found some strange behavior with my phone for the past two months. Actually, the problem started when they released MIUI 9 and it is getting worse over time. The battery is draining really fast. When I check the usage, android consumes almost 70% of the battery. I had reported the issue to MI support and it seemed ok for a few days when I updated it to 9.6.1.0, but the issue seems to be back now. The only option I have right now is to use other custom roms. Can this happen because of faulty battery? I hope not!
---------- Post added at 12:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:02 PM ----------
I am facing a similar issue. When I checked battery usage, android is using 70% of the battery. Could this be an issue with battery? I used to plug my phone over night in the past.
Try let your battery drain to 0% so phone will shut down, this is called calibration btw.(do not use play store apps, all they do is deleting some files which do not work like intended)
Then charge till 95% at most and try again. Btw don't charge phone overnight as it was mentioned above and try charging it when the battery drops to 15%-20%. At most let it charge until 95% you don't want to overdo it. If the issue still persists then you might want a battery replacement.
Hello everyone!
I bought my Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus in january this year. Since then I've been more than satisfied with this device. I was using Resurrection Remix v6.1.0 for a couple months when I started to see that my battery was draining faster and faster... Firstly, my phone could charge up to 98%, then it would stop charging... Then there came issues with screen on time... I was barely getting around 5 hours of screen on time. I quickly wiped everything and flashed DotOS which had even worse battery life for me... Now I'm on MIUI 10 Global Beta and things aren't getting better... As you can see by the screenshots in the attachments, my battery is performing terribly. Moreover, 96% seems to be maximum value for my battery since I can't charge it more than that... Can someone give me an insight of what might be going on with my phone?
Unlocking the bootloader and installing custom roms might cause troubles for you and affect the performance.. you should know that.
It seems you are using 4G which drain battery faster than wifi as it appears in your screen.
Check for wakelocks, if [Timerfd] and netlink wakelock exist (with high alarms/wakelocks), then you need to reconnect the battery cable.
i get the same issues on my R5P which i bought back in May. when in install any MIUI rom, it seems that Android System is draining most of the battery.
at first i was getting 5-6 hours SOT. now i struggle to get 3-4 hours with the same usage.
i am currently on crdroid and max battery charge is 98%.
how difficult is it to open the device at reconnect the battery?
i had the same wakelock problem after instaling orange fox recovery and rooted oreo miui 9.
the only solution to wakelocks was to flash with test point method.
it was a very easy process.
for opening the back cover i have used 2 or 3 bits of plastic cutout form water bottle. use scisors for cutting plastic from water bottle.

A recovery has nothing to do with wakelocks in your ROM.

After some testing several forum users reached the conclusion that test point isn't needed. Disconnecting battery is sufficient.
Test point method implies disconnecting the battery.

flashed 9.8.1.25 beta
I had to do the test method because I have locked my bootloader by mistake and then got a bootloop.
but the wakelock problem has gone
I dont know if orange fox caused the wakelocks but I got those wakelocks like in the first post picture after using orange fox for rooting oreo miui 9.
After that I tried flashing nougat 9.5.4.0 , formating data, doing all the wipes , factory reseting then restoring my backups with twrp but the wakelocks were still present.
only test point method helped me get rid of wakelocks.

yes, i disconected the battery but I had to flash with the test point method because of a bootloop and locked bootloader by mistake.

use wakelock detector app.
kernel option
i had the same problem before, just discharge your battery to 0% i mean take time until your phone won't boot up and then wait an hour, then charge it for maybe 6 hours (i let mine overnight)
and repeat 3-4 times
if that doesn't work try to calibrate your battery/
good luck!
i just took the back of the phone off, disconnected the battery, reconnected it, booted it up and it charged to 100% in crdroid. testing battery life now.
Thanks for the replies. I'll most probably try the testpoint method and tell you if it worked for me.
Regarding the wake locks, app says that my phone is awake almost 70% of the time even though I used for around 2 hours in a 24 hour period... My phone is going from sleep to awake state every couple of seconds...

Tell us your results after testing
Hey.
IDK if this is going to help but here you go:
Yesterday I flashed via recovery the MIUI 10 Global Stable update for vince, working more flawlessly than Global Betas. I have tested a lot of ROMs for vince and always noticed that MIUI even 9 or 10 has worst battery than PE or any other Android Stock rom (8.1) for vince.
With this MIUI update things changed and I'm having the same statistics (or even better) as Android Stock roms for vince, now I've changed some settings before telling you this.
1- Installed MIUI Hidden Settings.
2- Opened Battery Optimization.
3- Selected all the apps that I could optimize.
Did that this morning (around 8 am) and I'm having this SOT.
Note: Mine is only charing to 98% idk why.
Want best battery life, Miui 10 Stable is shockingly best super smooth and best battery ever. The rom.
is even smoothest of all the custom roms i have tried. It is weird but Miui Stable release for Redmi 5 plus is a amazing ,

Thanks For Tips
As Per My Thinking Android System Higher Point for Battery Drain In Your Battery Uses Screenshot That Means Some Inbuilt App Use Battery
Ok so i had some problems with my battery draining fast with very little screen on time about 4-5 hours. What i did is opened the phone, disconnected battery cable, left it like that for a minute or two. Then i flashed the latest global miui 10 stable official stable rom using mi flash and flashed all data. Now my battery is once again amazing like when i first bought the phone! I get about 10 hours sot
So I opened the back of my phone and disconnected then reconnected the battery. While the back of the phone was opened, I did the test point method and entered EDL mode. I connected my phone and Windows installed the needed Qualcomm drivers. I opened MiFlash tool to try to flash the latest MIUI global stable ROM, but it always said there was an error. The error was that it couldn't receive the "hello" packet. So, unable to fix this error, I booted the phone and entered fastboot mode then flashed latest global stable ROM. Battery life improved just a tiny bit. Still getting subpar battery life with around 3-4 hours of SoT. Am I missing something or what? I am unable to believe that I managed to damage my phone's battery in less than 10 months since I don't use it for gaming.
Anybody got a clue on what to do?
