Presumably you don't have a physical mini-hdmi port then? I've been reading conflicting reports of whether the device supports hdmi and wasn't sure quite what comes with it and whether there are regional differences.

As i understand it, the Korean version of the SGP has a built in HDMI port. The other versions - International and US - do not. I don't know about the internal software on the US or Intl. versions supporting such an adapter.
I was wondering whether the MHL cables contain a chipset or if the HDMI encoding is done on the device (for things like the Galaxy S II), and therefore whether there's any possibility of HDMI output being available on the non-Korean devices via one of these MHL cables.
In any case I'll do some investigation when mine arrives, but if anyone knows what hw the Galaxy S II uses to support MHL (if any) then please do post.
Received the Samsung MHL to HDMI Adapter today (EIA2UHUNBEGSTA) and the US Version (YP-G70) does NOT support video output. I confirmed the Adapter is working OK by connecting it to a Galaxy Nexus phone & the video immediately appears.

Probably not helpful, but I was in Korea recently, and we checked out the YP-G70 in a shop in Seoul, and that did have a mini-HDMI port on it. I didn't get it then, because they were asking $400-$500 for it (USD) and I had known that the US model was coming out soon, and had heard it was going to be in the $200+ range.
Also, I think some people bought from Exportprive, and supposedly those had the HDMI port plus the (Korean) TV receiver.

I've been looking into MHL as well, and so far no one has responded to my queries as to whether it's a hardware or software feature in the device. If it's purely software, then there's hope for it existing on the device in the future. It seems that all the new ICS devices support it, but I don't know whether it's built in to ICS or not.
So there may be possible hope for future modding/porting of MHL.
I'm almost certain there is additional hardware to support MHL on devices that have it.
The G70 might have analog TV output like the Captivate did though.
dmesg output from a Samsung Galaxy S II would probably show the chip name, which would give us a clue. Anyone have a link to such a thing?
I don't think it has analog (composite) out, since it has a mic input in the earphone jack. look at the earphones that it comes with, see how there is already a fourth section?

Maybe so, but I would think Samsung would list it somewhere in the user manual, wouldn't you? Btw, the iPod touche's audio jack doesn't double as a video out, you have to use the 32 prong apple jack.

Unknown. This thread is speculation so far.
Well, maybe it is possible, but I think Samsung would have surely listed it as a feature, it at least mentioned it in the user manual. I think I have a 3.5mm video-audio cable laying around somewhere, I will dig it up and test it, one moment...

I tested mine to no avail, but on one tv, I did get the message "This device is unsupported". Most tv's either said no signal or nothing at all. Weird that one tv would recognize it...
Yup just tested - no good.
I wonder if you could make a mod, but I am 99% positive it needs hardware. To bad, I wonder why they took the HDMI out of the U.S and EU versions in the first place? I would have payed a little extra for it, if necessary.

If the cable was intended for an iPod, it may have a different pinout that caused the TV to see one of the audio outputs as video.
Edit: iPod AV out cables and Captivate ones should be the same, from tip to sleeve:
Left, Right, Ground, Video

If they didn't have time, motivation to enable some feature, they won't list it even if it's possible, otherwise they'll get lots of returns with people complaining that such and such a feature doesn't work.
I suppose the thing to do is check the jack driver, which I seem to remember seeing somewhere (certainly there was an entry in the sysfs afair) and see whether it either shows how to enable TV out, or whether we can then workout what the chipset is that controls the jack.
Is there any accesory fo live with walkman for tv out, i had nokia 5800 tv out cable, is it work?

This cable works only on Nokia 5800.
There are no Android phones that support TV-out via 3.5mm jack. Some phones have HDMI port for this, but most don't.
Now, microUSB-HDMI adapter is known to work on some Androids, but LWW has not been tested. So we also do not know, if there is any app for it or not.
2nd way would be DLNA, but that only supports media files.

I already tried the Samsung "Micro USB <-> HDMI" cable and it dindt work. But that cable it's a bit weird, you have to connect the charger to the cable. Maybe a generic "Micro USB <-> HDMI" cable works

You don't connect the charger to the adapter.
I am not sure, if Xperia's support TV-out from microUSB. If not, then likely will not work.
For DLNA, you need the original file from stock ROM.

In Xperia Mini st15a, DLNA can be used through an app what initiate an server what give access for media content like videos and photos, and if you have an eletronic like a notebook or tv with dlna certified, then they have the client to connect to the server and execute these contents. Although, windows 7 comes with dlna client, windows media center, through wifi (dlna is a protocol what runs over wifi).
I asked in my country to Sony support about MHL, they say what the only device is the Xperia Arc S what have MHL ... but i can't confirm that, and the new Xperia U, P etc etc maybe have. However, for us owners of xperia 2011 devices, theres no mhl function, and i searched a lot... so i found xBounds, google it.
About cables through jack, the same, don't work... Sony have an oficial cable to x1 i guess, but not for live's or mini's.
Search also about mirrorOp app on Google Play Store.
PS3 have dlna also and Sony have an app on Play called VScreens.

Yes, in service menu there is a button for hdmi test. All Android with service menu have a button for hdmi test. All Android with this button kinda have hdmi software support. But, in order to use HDMI properly, the device need a hardware what support HDMI, for example, MHL need an USB socket and a circuit, HDMI need a HDMI socket and a circuit.
In this case, is all about hardware not only software. Although, there are some ways to do screen mirroring, some hardwares and softwares. I bet in xBounds.
No one tried to plug an MHL adapter in mini's or live's, because no one reported if work or not, all we have is a uncertainty. No one tried to plug another kind of cable and reported if work or not. *No one since the latest search I made.
I haven't tried to use an MHL adapter yet because I don't found it in my country so easily and don't found a MHL adapter "more appropriate".
I just need search for a friend or visit some seller what I can meet to test it. I don't found yet.

Doubt not. You're obviously too busy to look it up . Suffice to say that entering "android tv out 3.5mm" or "galaxy s tv" on a well known phone spec checker (sometimes known as 'giyf') gives prominent links to the correct accessory and video demos.

The Sidekick 4g does as well. 4pin 3.5mm TRRS (Left,Right,Ground,Video) cables work on it. So does the Galaxy S II (i9100), and according to Samsung's website, with "Samsung Exhibit™ 4G Android Smartphone Samsung Captivate™ Android Smartphone Samsung Vibrant™ Android Smartphone Galaxy S™ 4G Android Smartphone Samsung Omnia® II Touchscreen Smartphone"
Composite video on 3.5mm jack, and most of those phones have MHL over usb or hdmi as well. Suck on that non-believer.

Sadly theres no MHL, or jack, or HDMI, or magic for xperia mini/pro, et cetera.
Is really unpleasant what the demostration video for LiveDock cause the impression of is possible do tv out for any phone Xperia, but this was discussed before, the true is what the phone in demostration has your own HDMI out. Even the docks with HDMI out, is for phones that already have the HDMI out builded in.
We have just a long wait for xBounds becomes a true for us, because is the only resource what seems work as we need and want.
Of course there's another solutions, but the issue is the delay, but this is not problem, for example, if you want just show content in non-real time.

I have read that the phone does support mhl 3.0, but then I have read that it doesn't and the only way you are getting video out is through Miracast. Anybody here have direct knowledge if there is mhl support?

yeah I just bought the new Avh-4100nex and it was delivered today, I plan on using the Android Auto, I thing there is special Hdmi adpater you have to use for the samsungs I think

Just wish I knew which adapter worked. I would get the nex4100, but having an Appradio 2 already and was planning on using ARLiberator or unchained, it would keep me from spending $600. At this point I guess I have to return my phone. Drastic I know, but my radio is useless without a phone.
Samsung phones will generally only work with Samsung brand MHL adapters.
I've read multiple sources on the web that it is true that he S6 doesn't support MHL. I'll verify this later today. While this isn't a big deal at home because you can use chromecast ...etc, , it is in my car. I've always displayed my Phone's (androids and IOS) on my car stereo, for gps or waze purposes (just some examples). Anyone else use MHL? kinda bummed about sammy taking away that functionality.

I got it to work with my AppRadio using Chromecast. Not sure if that is an option for you, but it did work for me. I just would rather use a hardwire connection. If Chromecast had not worked I would have returned the phone. Lack of MHL was a deal breaker for me, but Chromecast works really good for this device.

I have a Kenwood, Guess I could put a chromecast dongle on. I prefer the hardwire connection. How stable is your video connection to your head unit?

With Chromecast it is flawless, with any other Miracast adapter it is horrible. The only hard part (not hard, time consuming) is setting up the Chromecast to work with tethering off of your phone. The rest works just the same as an mhl adapter.
Well, these comments are bothersome! I ordered a Samsung MHL connector from Amazon and it is coming from China on a very slow boat. I ordered it two weeks ago and Amazon says it could be another month. This will tick me off if it finally gets here and doesn't work!! If anyone gets it to work, please post here!!
I got an official Samsung adapter and my s3 works like a charm but my s6 edge just shows a black screen

I just bought a 4100nex and now I'm running into this same issue. Could you please send me a link or thread that explains how to do this with a Chromecast. I'm so bummed about this whole situation. I have the s6 edge

Just a quick question, has anyone tested USB OTG on the V10 yet? It is about the only feature I've not read about, I know the G4 supported it so just wanted to make sure this is the same for V10 before ordering. Also can anyone confirm the IR blaster is available?

How well does the ir blaster work compared to the g4? On g4, I have to aim it right at the source.

I have already replied at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63512060&postcount=14 , but that is completely untrue.
The Hi-Fi works at least with Google Play Music. I have tested it on a F600S.
The DAC, at first, only works with the stock music app, and as reported, Google Play (downloaded content only!). However, there is an app on the play store that enables it for pretty much anything. The app does work, thankfully, at least well enough to get the DAC active with Poweramp. Look for "DAC Fix".

I've used the Sandisk 32G (available here on amazon) with no problems. I've been able to transfer files both directions and watch video directly from the inserted drive.
IR blaster is very small and located on the top where you'd probably expect. I tested it successfully with my television.

Not very good compared to my old Note 3, Note 4, Note 4 Edge nor my Gear 2 Neo smartwatch. I think the IR blaster range is the only disappointment that I have on this device. I have to be within a few (4 maybe) feet for it to work with my TV. With my previously mentioned Samsung devices, even the watch, I could use the IR blaster from across the room (15 feet or more).
I guess I must not be that far away from my devices, I've not noticed a difference between my old note 3 and the V10 for the IR
My IR works 20 plus feet. I can control living room tv from the bedroom.

My V10's IR blaster controls my tv and dish receiver from over 20 feet away. I do have to aim right at what I'm trying to control, as well as enter the first command after opening app more than once before dish responds. I'm very pleased with it. Awesome for lost broken and no battery remotes controls. Setup was fast and easy. :good:

I have H96 PRO+ Amlogic S912 Octa-Core TV Box w/ 3GB DDR3, 32GB ROM and I would like to buy a webcam to be able to use it for Skyep too.
I would like to know if the Logitech C930e is compatible with Android 6.x or should I buy the Logitech C920?

AFAIK it should not matter as the cam will only be detected as a normal webcam anyway.
I doubt Android has specific drivers for Logitech.
I tired on several Android devices with a USB inspection cam using noname Windows drivers.
The cam worked on all Androids right away but I was for example unable to activate the light.

Not too far right. Not every USB Webcam is supported by Android.
You have to pick a one that is compatible with the Android version you have.
For example, I tried an old USB Webcam Logitech v-ubk45 that has a built-in mic with my box and only the mic worked but the cam was not recognized.

So far I had problems with all sorts of devices but even cam I connected just worked.
I have a 920 still around in one of my spares boxes, will hook it later today and report back if my box will recognise it.
C920 should work well as long as you have Android 5.x and above
Can confirm, my C920 works fine on the X96 and the Yundoo Y8.
