Hello everyone, my phone motherboard ram had issues so I changed it with a used motherboard since there is no any new motherboards in the market rn.
My phone old motherboard model number was SM-G925F and after changing it with the used mother board it changed now to SM-G925I.
THE PROBLEM:
When I plug-in any headphones the left side not working at all always (have tried more than 6 headphones) only the right side works and have sound perfectly but the left side one not working at all, is it a hardware or software issue? and may the firmware model number and kernel versions have anything to do about it?
HELP );
NOTE: I tried a wireless headphone and working just fine both left and right side

Hi all!
I opened my SGS2 and changed new USB charger port + mic to it.
now i have problem wiht my voice call mic, it doesnt hear me.
This part i changed to new one..
Click*CLick*
voice call's works fine with speaker.
original part was: R.B43
gt-i9100 REV2.2
new part was: R.B 5.3???
gt-i9100 REV2.2
i think part is working but software doesnt detect mic...
What should i do now?
is it posible use "mic 2" the upper one.. to voice calls?
Speakerphone uses the upper mic, not the lower; that's why speakerphone works.
Either the flex cable is not attached properly, or the rubber housing over the microphone isn't seated properly, and could be blocking sound from getting to the mic.
It says its seller refurbished. It could be faulty...I dont buy stuff from Hong Kong

Hi guys,
I've been looking for a couple of weeks now how to solve the problem with both the microphones not working on my Xperia U st25i.
After trying everything I've read about this topic (disabling the live wallpapers, Live Manager, soft reset, repair with PCCompanion, etc) I haven't been able to find a solution. So I ask a friend of mine, that has the same model, if I could disassembly his phone and try to connect the bottom part (where the primary microphone is allocated) to my phone to see if at least my primary mic would work. When I was at the point of disassembling the bottom part of his phone I saw that the ribbon connected to the phone could break so I decided not to go any further. So I reassembled his phone and the result was that now his primary mic isn't working. So now I have one phone with both microphones not working and another one with the primary microphone not working.
Anyone knows what could I have done disassembling my friend's phone to break the primary microphone?
Thanks
Ok guys, I've finally figured out. Turns out usually the zif connector has a black plate that holds the connector in place, but for some reason this two phones didn't have it. So the solution was to bend a little downwards the little pins above the ribbon so they can make contact to the ribbon itself. Now the mics are working.
SOLVED.
My wife's Verizon S4 usb charging stopped working. I disassembled and saw a tiny bit of corrosion around the charging socket and where the flex cable plugs in. I ordered a replacement on ebay (I am usually good at picking out the better ebay parts sellers) and after installing the USB charging is fine but no sound from the mic. I examined the mic pinhole and gasket and found it was clear. I then reinstalled the original usb charging/mic flex cable and mic sound was back but of course no usb charging.
I then ordered another usb charging/mic flex cable from a more expensive vendor but it has exactly the same problem. The first vendor sent a replacement and it has the issue also. Are all these units bad? (maybe bad batch - but all three have minute differences). I saw someone recommend flashing the firmware with Kies. I've used ODIN but never Kies. Could it be that the new parts require newer firmware? Perhaps there is some trick to get the mic working. I tried toggling off noise cancellation. I also tried turning off other toggles in settings>phone. I also tried an app that can control which mic is used for various functions called Soundabout. That didn't help either. The phone is on VRUFNG6 - the speakerphone is fine (it's mic is up on top). Bluetooth works fine also.
Thanks in advance
Hi, I recently bought an used g925f, and directly modded with a custom Rom (now I'm on carhd Tom, but tries several ones nougat based) , without trying that all is working properly. It has 2 things broken, led behind multitasking button is broken, and the 3,5mm Jack is not working (don't recognize headset). No problem with first issue, but the second is really annoying. So, googling a bit other people had similar issue, but they solved after cleaning the hole, not my case unlucky. So do you thing is hardware related, or sw? In case of hardware issue, changing the board with the connector, will solve the problem?
Thank you
Hello, I'm having some connection issues with the Headphone jack on my Redmi note 4 Global Version (snap), I had the phone for over a year but from 2 weeks ago the phone couldn't recognize the headphone if it's completely in the jack, but it does recognize it nearly at the bottom with some issues (such as missing a channel), but there's a gold spot like 1mm above the bottom where the sound works as normal, but it's not reliable because any movement would take the plug out of that gold spot.
I figured a replacement should work fine and at first I tried to solve this locally, I went into like 5 tech support stores but none of them had a replacement jack, however one of them said that this issue could instead be the logic board, they asked me to let my phone overnight to see if its the board or the piece, and then tell me if the repair is possible. Because everything pointed towards a issue with the piece, as the phone did had a point where it could recognize the headphone connected, I said fine and let it, the next morning they bailed out and said they couldn't fix it because it was an issue with the board, them they spouted something about it being a common issue with a bunch of Xiaomi models having that exact same issue and telling there's no point in changing the jack as it would keep failing.
Honestly I don't believe it, the phone have a year without issues and to me the behaviour in the headphone tells a failure in keeping the connection at the end of the plug.
My idea right now is to buy a jack myself and either follow this tutorial or bring it to a store to change it for me, I'm not familiarized with smartphones and have no experience in soldering, so maybe bring it to a store is a better idea, however i still need to ask, is there a chance it could be the logic board or it definitely is the jack? I should buy that piece from Aliexpress or search another source? That tutorial seems legit enough?
Thanks in advance for any help.
I have two Redmi Note 4s with headphone jack issues.
The headphone jacks don't last as long as other phone manufacturers. Also there appears to be issues with the printed circuit on the motherboard from the headphone jack to the rest of the circuit.
Replacing the headphone jack and adding extra wire from the headphone jack connectors to the associated components should fix the problem. If it doesn't then meh, you've done all you can!
