Hi!
Is there another app just like Watch Styler for fit? I can not find it in the App Store or on the Internet.
To bad I can not make apps myself, I just started with Tasker and that in its self is hard, lol.
Maybe one of you smart ones will make an app for me like Watch Styler (just with more clocks to choose from) and I will provide Dutch manuals for your apps in the app store? Seems fair enough?
Greetings, Bammmbi
Another like the original ?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.omnicns.android.gearfit.watchstyler
Thanks for your reply.
No, I have that one, but I can't find other apps that can do the same and more for my Samsung Gear Fit.
The Watch Styer that you gave me in the link is nice, but limited in clock style choice. I would love to be able to chose from more digital and analoge clocks, styles, positioning and such. More freedom and also more colour choice. I wouldeven pay for an app like that.
The app store is full of apps for other smartwatches and such but not for my Samsung Gear Fit, such a shame.
Regards, Bammmbi
@Bammmbi If you find someone who can do this, please point them to my project, I would like to have this capability in my app. I thought about adding this functionality, but it will be down the road in my roadmap as Im working on other key features

Hi Jarredic.
Since you're asking me thissuppose.. this means that there is no other app like Watch Styler. At least not know to you... Did you ask the maker of Watch Styler if you could use his script? Its a free app.
If you ever come to making it yourself, I'll provide the Dutch version for your app, if you want to.
P. S.
If I will find someone I will redirect them to you. It's awesome, your app. I'm still struggling with Tasker variables, hahaha.
Any thoughts on this new gizmo, especially compared to the PACE and its customisation capabilities?
So far this watch looks like it's probably not based on Android and there's been no movement yet on customizing anything. So far.
I have ordered one, it should arrive in a few days. How do I know if it's based on Android? Do I try to connect to my PC and run adb?
Since the International version is not out yet, I got the Chinese version. I'd love to swap the firmware in the future if it'll become possible.
its a closed system based on the ARC band by Huami. there are only two contacts/connectors on the watch itself, thus, charging only, no software access with "normal" access.
it's not an android, it is not cross-flashable, and currently, as it seems, there is no way of connecting it to a PC without opening it physically up.
For all those interested there is a dedicated group on facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/116263679018604/?ref=aymt_homepage_panel
firmware updates via bt possible ?
no, only OTAs
https://fccid.io/2AC8UA1608/Internal-Photos/Internal-photos-3492001
ok where the jtag pin
I received mine a week ago. So far it is pretty good. It is a cross product between the miband 2 and the pace I'd say. No android at all, screen is transflective like the pace, watchfaces are just ok. Notifications work pretty well, battery life is IMPRESSIVE (used like 20% in a week...)if there was a way to make it english would be perfect, but the menu is pretty straightforward even if you do not speak any chinese.
Firmware
https://support.dialog-semiconductor.com/how-download-firmware-da14580-ble-chip
Maybe possible to change firmware by bluetooth?
Amazfit BIP Tools: https://github.com/amazfitbip/tools
small tool to convert amazfit bip resource file to a standard image file.
./res2img.py [Mili_chaohu.res]
if you call it without any parameter actually it will look for "Mili_chaohu.res_3.0.4"
it will generate splitted a number of raw file and for each file a correspondent jpg file.
The program generate some temporary file like a textual palette and a mask to be applied to the grayscale image to get the indexed one. By tweaking the program is possible to keep souch files.
./ch2en.py
Process ch2en.txt by looking for hex string pattern, connect to google translate and add the english translation to the txt file
this tool can be useful for replacing string from chinese to english

As long as its translated or either you translate it.
Does anybody know where to download the translated firmwares? Or do we have to translate the firmware like it is described in the documentation linked above?

Hi,
there's a place where I can find some good app (apk) modified to works on my Amazfit Pace? I've already installed ADB...
Don't think so, Android wear app don't work on Amazfit
Yes, it is possible. The info was provided in another forum (requires registration), for watches that use full Android instead of Wear, like Amazfit Pace. I've found this info here:
http://amazfitcentral.com/2017/11/16/use-android-wear-apps-amazfit-pace/
I have successfully ported some, it's not that hard. Most apps for AW 1.5 that doesn't require the companion phone app to work are very easy to install on Pace.
Thanks!

Here you go
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1sGPfjtSJQfd_9-Dx3HucT-J-zG2YskHF?usp=sharing
These are all apps that I found on forums and such while looking for Pace compatible apps. They should mostly work (I haven't tested all of them). As far as I know all of these apps are free. If anyone is the owner/developer of any of these apps and would like me to remove them let me know.

Thank you for the Amazefit Pace compatible apps.
I have been looking for "A Scheduler" application for Amazfit Pace where I can schedule an appointment a month or 2 months later, an an alarm or alert will notify me at the scheduled time.
If anyone here can help me with that application I will be very very happy.

This apps works well with small round displays, and can sync over wifi so you can use your computer or phone to enter data and read it on your watch:
- TickTick (very good reminder app even in free version, can connect with Twitter or email account)
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ticktick.task
TickTick usually uses RAM while on background (needed for sync and notifications, of course), otherwise it performs very well. I just wanted TickTick to remove the top bar when scrolling an item when viewing it.
Tick Tick Installed on Phone
Hi
Thank you very much for the reply.
I just installed the Tick Tick in my Mobile phone, but this app is for Mobile phone and not for Amazefit pace watch.
Is the Mobile app able to remind me on my Amaze fit watch.
Thanks in advance.

No, install it on both phone and watch, you will use WiFi to sync data using Twitter or email account.

No, it doesn't work, it doesn't support Android 5.1 (the version on Pace). But you know you can upload GPX data to watch and use it, right? If you need an offline map, you can try OsmAnd or Galileo (version 1.6.6 works very well on Pace).
do you have link to pace apk for Osmand and Galileo?
Stopwatch wear app
Hello,

Hello. Did you read my previous comment? You must download and install the regular app (the same used on phones) to the watch. Then open it and choose the account to sync it using WiFi.
If you need help installing apps on watch:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/amazfit/amazfit-pace-enable-app-list-install-t3639617
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lo-SIiBa25w
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kR-j_aCsu_A
Once TickTick is installed on watch, connect with your Twitter account (you must have done this on phone too, same account, so it can sync to watch). You will need a browser, I recommend installing XBrowser on watch too, it is small and works well. You may want to install PaceOn too, it turns WiFi on and keep the screen on so it doesn't disconnect.

Sorry, but I don't like to apps outside Play Store. That said, I have used files downloaded from APKMirror or APKPure (I can't guarantee this one is safe), OsmAnd is version 2.5.3 and Galileo Free is 1.6.6.
Regarding hiking, I have tested both regular apps (the one that runs on phones) and they work somehow on Pace too, ViewRanger is very sluggish, but AlpineQuest runs surprisingly well (only the paid version records tracks tho):

Hello,
Since there is no possibility to add a custom workout profile (cardio, weight training etc), it is possible to install Endomondo or Sports Tracker apk on the Pace 2 (Stratos) and run it to track indoor workouts like weight lifting, cardio etc.? If it is possible, then would like to know if I can also port the daily tracking metrics to those apps? This is the only feature that I'm missing and it is stopping me to buy this wonderful watch.
I think all they have to do is add a feature to add a custom workout profile and allow the user to choose the data points in the same way Garmin allows.
Please help.
Hi,
before I had a pebble time steel and now with the amazfit bip, custom apps are missing to me a lot. For exemple, "this button" app allowed me to control my domotique box through IFTTT applets with my watch. An app to send recorded sms is also missing. And a lot of other apps...
Do you think there is any way to create custom apps that could be install like for custom watchfaces for the bip?
Thanks.
custom app is great idea
I would also appreciated some kind of customization apart of watchfaces. In worst case I'ld like to replace e.g. compass to something more useful (calendar, HTPP call via phone, display some reasonable data, whatever...). So does anybody have an idea how to create custom ROM or some hack?

No, it doesn't. Pace uses Android while Bip uses a proprietary OS.
So unless Huami releases a SDK to develop apps, there is no easy way. The only option is to hack and find out how to side load apps and mod the existing ones, if there is a way to side load (free space, support in the OS for new apps, etc).
It would be great if there would be shortcuts app. It could have 4 named buttons on screen and you would configure what action they would invoke on phone.
For now i use Amazfit tools and double click on button to invoke at least player play/pause.
any reason to nobody make watcfaces like below screens?i searched but i found only for android wear. i hope developers make this style watchfaces. for amazfit pace thanks
There is no way to fetch calendar data on watch using the builtin features now. There is a standalone calendar widget that can be helpful. Next AmazMod version is rumored to add possibility of other types of data sync, that would include calendar data.

i found amazmod on github but cant find roadmap and release date for data sync.maybe i couldnt find on github.any release date for data sync calender feature for amazmod?
Actually AmazMod will offer a service for data syncing, developers can use this to create apps like calendars that sync data with phone.

If you are on Android and Apple Music behaves like any other music player, with controls in the notification drawer, then you should be able to control it too, simply configure Amazfit app correctly. I have never used AppleMusic on Android, so I have no idea how it works on these phones.

No, no appstore. And if it's the main purpose you are getting it I think you should think twice: Pace is a sportswatch, and it does it well. But it's not meant to run apps: it has very little memory (512MB) and runs a modified and streamed down version of Android 5.1 on a MIPS processor, you can run some apps on it, but besides the ones built for Pace (there are some here in this forum) then it will be a very good experience as it's not the device's purpose.

lastly please answer for amazfit bip also? bip's battery life is amazing.
BIP can't be customized in anyway besides a few custom watchfaces... It has a proprietary OS, not even space to store music.
anyone know that if amazfit bip supports calling contacs from watch via blutooth feature??thanks in advance
