Hi guys,
This is my first thread and I've just recently began rooting and flashing roms etc.
I'm sorry if this is a duplicate thread but I searched the forum and found nothing. Here's the thing:
I have a Samsung GT-i9300 ( international version ) and after the first flash I lost my efs folder.
Which did not only mess up my IMEI. It messed up bluetooth, connectivity, wifi adress and the phone lost it's identity.
I took it to a " technician " who said he could fix it. He restored my imei, but the network wouldn't work. So he put another IMEI and voilá!
The phone had connectivity and worked perfectly. So he told me that my phone's imei was reported as stolen because the network wouldn't let it connect. ( and I have had this phone since it first came out of the box and I never reported such a thing. )
He then said the police would have to be involved to verify if i'm the owner so I just told him to put a new imei on.
When I picked up the phone it was working fine. Full connectivity. Then I flashed a rom and lost my efs folder again.
Luckily I had a backup of the imei, wifi, serial and bluetooth adresses. Which were sucessfully restored.
But still, no connectivity. So I googled it and finally found a solution! The problem is with the Baseband.Basically the phone lost it's baseband files, without which the phone cannot connect to the network, and when the " technician " restored my imei, he copied the whole EFS file from the dead phone. Which then replaced the missing files and the phone worked. So my IMEI wasn't blocked, my EFS file was corrupted and the baseband files were missing.
I used the Ariza patch. And voilá, the connectivity is back. But after being turned on for about an hour, the phone has a pop up which says it's not registered in the network and it must restart with a valid sim. And it's a no option pop up, you are indeed forced to restart your cell phone which is annoying because it shuts off at night and operations that take more than an hour are impossible.
But still, after 2 days, the ariza patch stopped working. The phone is in Emergency Calls only now and it doesn't detect the sim. But it's not blocked, it connects to the network.I read that you could flash the modem files to fix this aswell. So I downloaded the modem file for my phone, from my carrier ( VODAFONE PORTUGAL ), from one of the threads here. It didn't work.
Now, this is the question:
Is it possible that it didn't work because my new EFS file is from a phone based in the UK and my phone is from Portugal?
Can it be a sim software problem?
Also, is there any solution found other than the obvious which I've already exhausted ( flash stock rom, wipe cache, etc )
Thank you an Advance guys!
Good day People,
I don't want to beat around the bush so, I installed customROM works fine. then I reverted back to stockROM then IMEI is gone.
I tried the Engineering mode thing, I tried multiple IMEI Writers non of them works for me. I always have this error "meta mode entry fail" for some reason I don't know what to do.
I do have an MTK Based phone its dual Sim.
MT6582
Cherry Mobile Fuze Q390
Can someone help me. I don't know if I am on the right thread but it says ask anything.
Thanks in Advance.

I WHOLE formatted my Cherry Mobile Fuze Q390 (MT6582) with SP Flash Tool. Then I flashed the official firmware of this device with SP Flash Tool. I don't have any backups because I am reverting to stock. Now the phone works fine but it does NOT detect the SIM card. Also, the IMEI is shown as "INVALID" for both SIM slots when I input *#06#. When I try to fix IMEI from MTK Droid Tools it shows (ERROR : pttycmd1 device NOT found!). Also, MTK Droid Tools shows (Baseband V -----). I am sure the problem is that when I formatted the phone it wiped the NVRAM region too. So the device has no baseband or radio files right not and also the data/nvram/md folder has nothing in it. Although, WiFI still works perfectly except the annoying NVRAM Warning that I kept on seeing when ever that I wanted to connect to a network. Now the official firmware of Cherry Mobile Fuze Q390 does not contain any nvram.bin file. It does contain the BPLGU file but I can't seem to modify IMEI with SN Write Station, Maui META 3G, IMEI&SN Writer V1.5.3 and etc. I tried using the MTK Engineering mode mode also and tried to write it using the AT+ code but it keeps on saying failed to send command. Probably the SN Write Station, Maui META 3G, IMEI&SN Writer V1.5.3 and etc. only modify the IMEI when the baseband or radio files are already present on the phone. So I think the only way out for me is to flash a nvram.bin using SP Flash Tool or Flash nvram.bin+nvram.tar to MTK Droid Tools which I don't have. Any ideas whether I am on the track or not? If I am, then how can I get the IMEI back on my phone. As you people can see that I have tried a lot of things, so please suggest/advice accordingly and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fix IMEI, at least for MT6589 Gigabyte GSmart Aku A1 (if *#06# show Invalid IMEI):
Call *#*#3646633#*#* Engineer mode, Connectivity, CDS Info, Radio Info,
Phone 1: AT+EGMR=1,7,"myIMEI" <send>
Phone 2: AT+EGMR=1,10,"myIMEI2" <send>
Hello @phaw16, @nandhu.crab19 : Can you resolve that problem?

How to edit IMEI on LENOVO X2-TO
I have the same problem.
I have Lenovo X2-TO. when I wrote other framware the first sim card's IMEI was deleted and now it wrote that sim 1 IMEI is UNKNOWN.
I try all way to adit that IMEI. but can not. who know how to change and edit IMEI? I know my imei's I have original boxes where write both IMEIs
try flash nvram
Hi, I installed the new nougat rom and lost my sim connection. I tried to restore the nvram data with maui meta but it dus not work. The phone first did not get detected by maui meta but after many tries, it showed something (error prompt with big red letters saying modem exception.).
My other mtk phone has no problems connecting with maui meta. This tells me the drivers are working. Also I can still flash the p9000 with spft.
The only thing I could think of, is a bad cable. Because sometimes when i tried to flash the phone with spft and plugging in the usb crashed my computer....
Please help. Do hou guys have some suggestions to help me solve this problem?
I fixed it. Apparently my nvram got screwed up pretty bad. If I did the imei check (*#06#) in dialer, the imei box was blank. That's also the reason why Maui meta could not access my phone. To fix this I reflashed the ROM with download+format and I got some 111111's and 222222's back for sim1 and sim2. At this point Maui meta also could access the phone again.
Same problem, installed with SPFlashTool as "Download Only" and my IMEI now is 1111111111 and 2222222222222 but calls and data works!
I've backup of NVRAM folder to restore...
Good evening, here is the only method that worked for me:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67724424&postcount=53
Hi,
can anyone provide me with nvram /nvdata backup please of Ulephone power 2?
I have probably correct IMEI, valid MAC fo Wifi/BT ...
It looks like my serial number changed to 123456789ABCDEF and I have no idea how to change it to original because MAUI (?) stucked on get kernel
I can find original box with correct serial and IMEis on stick
The only one problem with mobile is I am not able connect to mobile network - registration SIM to mobile network always fail.
and at MTK engineer I have only Bluetooth, FM Receiver, Wifi, Wifi CTIA, Wifi Display
I have nothing like Radio, CDS etc ...
OEM unlocked, TWRP, rooted
Some information probably lost when flashing
I had to flash , because phone was unusable - it stucked mostly on obtaining IP address wifi
after a while, phone disconnected from wifi and cant find any wifi or if find, then cant connect because of some security issue , after restart all was OK ...
Tahnaks
