Hello, can the Bluetooth 4.2 be upgraded to 5.0 in this phone or is it impossible
I don't think the Kirin 970 supports BT 5.0.
The BT chip on the kirin 970 supports only BT 4.2 and it cannot be resolved using a software update

I am using Huawei Honor U8860 now and it is excellent Android phone.
I am wondering if there will be MIUI ROM for Huawei U8860.
It is high C/P value Android phone with good CPU and big RAM/ROM size.
Since Huawei U8800 already has MIUI ROM, hope U8860 can support
MIUI as well.
Does any one work on it ?

I've just recently purchased this phone as well.
I reckon because its still very new, custom roms for it have yet to to be designed yet.
Am waiting patiently for it. It will come, in time
Also bought Huawei Honor U8860 to replace my HTC Wildfire S.
Have to say that i'm impressed how good this is for the cheap price. My choice was between this and HTC Desire S. (I like the shape of WFS/Desire S)
Tested the U8860 a friend bought and after that the choice was easy!

MIUI has announced that they are testing Huawei Honor now and will release an official MIUI ICS rom at the end of the month.

I am currently using it, and its quite nice, however there are some things that stay chinese even if you change the language to english..
Also I had the issue that the SMS application crashed every time on boot and on opening the app or recieving an SMS. After installing and removing an alternative SMS app however it seems to work now.

I've heard from many sources (also official) about BLE availability on Android 4.3 (from software side) for Samsung S3, so just after last update of my phone I've just bought Sigma R1 HRM but... it doesn't work on ANY (I've tried five different) 4.3 ROM. Only CM ROM (4.3.1) could pair properly with this HRM. So this functionality was included in 4.3 or not? Maybe someone could help to pair BLE accessories with SGS3 4.3?
What's more interesting. my girlfriend's Xperia V could pair with Sigma on Android 4.1.2!!! I don't know how it is possible if it is one of key feature 4.3?
P.S. Just for info: Endomondo on Android cannot handle BT Smart, it is not connected with android version.

In case you don't know...BLE has been officially supported by Android for awhile, but BLE is an inherent part of BT 4.0 and higher. This means by design the Nexus 9 (4.1 spec), as well as any device with BT 4 (or higher) has it. Although it might help you to know that Broadcom lists the component as supporting BLE.

aptX is a function of the Bluetooth chip, not the OS. Snapdragon 820 supports aptX.
Its actually rather software. By all means though it needs to be activated in software, for example all the Google devices as well as AOSP based firmware have never supported aptX while Samsung devices do so at least since the Galaxy S4 no matter the SOC they use. Google have included aptX support into Android 8 though IIRC.
Anyway, the Tab S3 supports aptX.
