When I first read the specs about this phone it seemed clear that HTC had used Gorilla Glass on this phone. I read Gorilla 1 Glass, but a review from a site i came across said Gorilla Glass version 2. Anyone have clear and definite information on this?

all the reliable sources i've read say is it corning's gorilla glass 2

I see that our EVO 4Gs have Gorilla Glass. So I would certainly hope we are getting an upgrade (v2) or I wouldn't be particularly excited about it.

I looked high and low to find support that the EVO 4G LTE is made with GORILLA Glass. HTC, SPRINT, and CORNING are just a few sites that I have checked that do not state the device is made with Gorilla Glass. Can anyone help me out with this?

Yes it will still break. It is scratch resistant not break resistant. My daughter has broken 3 epic screens already.

I still have not been able to conform that the EVO 4G LTE has Gorilla glass, but I have a question that I am looking more of opinion then an answer.

This is just like last year when the Evo 3D came out concerning GG. *Yes it does, no it doesn't* lol Corning didn't update their website for a month or two after it came out.
I emailed Corning this weekend and will post if I ever hear from them.

Neither Oleophobic coating, nor scratch resistant. Its IPS LCD panel, as said.

No it's not scratch resistant!
Never seen any IPS panel + scratch resistant..

But I have seen screens with the gorilla glass outside and IPS LCD inside.
Rather, many phones use the scratch resistant glass.

Unfortunately, the Honor 5X does not have Gorilla glass. It comes with a fully laminated screen to help protect against scratches and minor wear and tear.

it does not have gorilla glass, bt still offers the same protection as gorilla
If you're afraid about protection, you can buy a tempered glass
While it does come with a screen protector, I found this really decreased the display quality and removed it.
Unfortunately, Honor has opted to use a unbranded screen material for the phone, which you really can't call it anything besides it being really called just "OGS" or One Glass Solution. But, the screen is just as good as branded materials like Gorilla Glass 3 and such, hence from test that videos have shown (JerryRigEvery's durability test on the Honor 5X)

i just watched the durability video of bonor 5x in that channel(jerryRig) seems like honor 5x has a durable glass which is on par with other devices.
I am waiting for him to do the test on honor 8
considering the reports of easy scratching glass on the honor 8, it wont probably survive the scratch test

On the Cornering website, I'm surprised the P9 and Mate 9 used old Gorilla Glass 3...
I see the P10 used the Gorilla Glass 5 but for the mate 10 nothing...

Good question. I know the Mate 9 was a generation behind, but they also sold it at a more budget friendly price.
Honestly, for the price these devices are going for ($800-$1200) they should be using Sapphire glass.

Its clear, front glass which also there is a touch screen has GG5, so impotant thing that touch screen should be covered more carefully. It makes sense.

Then there are three possible scenarios:
1) Huawei made a mistake in choosing GG,
2) Gorilla Glass team send a e-mail with misspelling/incorrect information,
3) The end of the world is coming...

No. I don't think it guess. To compensate same, device comes with screen protector pre-applied. But same is not tempered protection though.
I don't know for sure, but in a review video by geeky Ranjit , he mentioned that it has gorilla glass 3.
In fb they've mentioned as gorilla glass 3
