Waiting on a Redmi 3S turning up, not finding much in the way of ROMs for it?
I'm wondering too. I am looking to buy a phone and my budget gets me to a Redmi 3S. It sounds amazing on paper, it's just the phone I'm looking for, but I don't know if it has any community except the pretty fishy one on the miui forums. And no global nothing. CM support is really low, but I guess I always buy phones that were released a year before and they are in their prime of the ROM support. This one has 2 threads on XDA with no replies. And the miui forums are filled with "Thanks" comments which look like filler accounts.
I really don't know if I should go for the 3 pro or 3s pro, or just get the bigger Redmi note 3. But I don't like big phones.

if you want more dev support+heavy gaming then redmi note 3 is the way to go.if you want to use it just normally and u want devs support thn i guess redmi 3 pro is a better choice as it has better support than redmi 3s for now.
Just ordered a Redmi 3s
as a heads up, theres no bootloader unlocking as of yet (except risky unofficial ones) no root without unlocked bootloader.
i just got the 3s and i just bricked it
Well, the support for 3s is quite low at the moment. Not surprising. Two reasons - Most of the Xiaomi fans already got RN3, and second, it's just released now, wait for atleast a few months. BTW, I was going to order it, but then I heard rumors about a Redmi 4 releasing this fall with SD625 SoC & 1080p screen. So, if you want better phone with more development support, then wait for Redmi 4. But I guess, they'll release toned-down version of it in India to cut down the price. The worst case scenario for India users might be that they'll release R4 with SD435.

Well, Xiaomi wouldn't like to disappoint their fans. There's isn't any reason for them to drop SD card support. But, leaks are saying there's only 3GB 32GB variant of Redmi 4, so I wouldn't be surprised if they drop SD card support. Seriously, only a few people use SD card on 32GB phones, but all kinds of hardware supports are welcome.
I was in the same boat as you but then I cancelled my 3S Prime and ordered the Note 3. The ROMs that are on MiUi forums are very shady. Also the several variants with the same name (albeit different code names) cause a lot of confusion. The Redmi 3S Prime is a good phone but if you want XDA support, I recommend you get the Redmi Note 3.
Hi, need help with this replacament.
When i bought this one, it is say that was a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x (4GB+64GB) Mediatek, in the INFO screen says Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 so i am not sure.
I already bought 2 replacament for him, first was too small, and the second the connectors did not fit correctly, so i need you help, can somebody giver me a link on ebay or other page to buy the correct one, i don't care if it is in china but i will prefer a usa seller fellas.
In the picrture you can see on the left mine, on the right the last replacament that i tried.
Please please help.
I am getting a new phone for under 200 dollars new and i'm deciding between the Honor 7x vs Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus. Does anyone know which option is better? Sorry if this type of question shouldn't go here, im new to this site.
That is exactly the comparison I did before to buy Redmi 5 Plus, my second candidate at that time was Honor 7x.
In your case I recommend that you see the compatibility of network bands first of all.
It seems that in some version(s) gyroscope is not present, some users froms US variant report that it has, model that I saw from China it didnĀ“t have.
Battery: Honor 7X=3340 and Redmi 5 Plus=4000
Honor 7x has dual camera and according some reviews a better camera but contraryly some users are disappointed in this point. (not much important for me)
There should be more details but summarizing gyroscope and battery was determinant.

I am looking for a cheap phone for rooting purposes as well as installing custom ROMs. I have boiled the choices down to 3 phones.
1. Redmi Note 7s
2. Mi A2
3. Redmi 7
I like Redmi Note 7s a lot. But there probably isn't a thread on this phone on XDA. Are the Indian Note 7s and the global Note 7 the same phone? Are they both codenamed Lavender? Basically, can I run ROMs designed for Lavender on a Note 7s?
If not, should I go for Mi A2? Redmi 7 does not appear to have a lot of ROMs.
Should I consider other phones for this purpose?
Sorry if this question sounds like a noob, this is my first time. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi everyone,
I have a Redmi Note 5 and a number of months ago I installed CrDroid Whyred on it. It's working fine. However, I see that I should be using Vince...or should I?
Thanks.
P.S. Just to be clear, it's not a Redmi Note 5 Pro.
Oh...found my answer, I think:
Redmi Note 5 - Whyred or Vince?
Hello, just come over to ask, want to buy my wife and me new phones and found the xiaomi redmi note 5 (global version). Specs are good enought for us, so want to buy it and want (of course) flash lineageOS but now i am confused with...
forum.xda-developers.com
Yeah, it's a Snapdragon 636. I must have worked that out before and completely forgot!
