My device have some problem with the battery. I was charging my phone from 0-100% but when i use my phone to 70% it shut down automatically and i turn on again but i have 5%. I checked my apps but not show anything just like the pic. I use ultimate nougat s8+ rom and try to clear cache and flash again but not work. Is that the kernel issue or the battery health is bad? (Sorry for bad english)

hello everyone!, i have a serious battery problems:
1. battery charging takes min 8 hrs!!
2. battery Discharges very very fast
i changed battery and charger and it still the same...
BUT notice that when the phone is off - charging takes 1-2 hrs
i dont know what its the problem, can someone help? thanks.
Have the same flash boeffla kernel and increase the charging of your charger and your battery will load very fast
Device: Samsung Galaxy S3
ROM: CyanogenMod 11 (Temasek Unofficial V36 )
Kernel: Boeffla-Kernel-CM11-2.1-Beta9-
1-2 hours is normal for a charge, actually its very decent. Run full charges only. Charge ONLY when battery is less than 20% and charge continuously till 100%. Check you battery usage. If you have bluetooth, wifi, 3g and whatnot on all the time your battery life will be bad and will take longer to charge.
Search the web there are many more specific solutions.
Specify if you are on stock rom and kernel.
Edit: I would NOT increase charging current. It will decrease your battery life in long run.

Tell what firmware you are using and install better battery stats and leave it 4-5 hours on standby..see what is draining your battery post screen shots in BBS threads.. And someone would definitely help you...

hi guys,
i have s3 4.3 stock rom and kernel,
i saw in battery usage that the screen is 90% .....does it normally?!??!?
it seems like the screen is draining my battery, what can i do??
Lower screen brightness If you are gaming then there is hardly any solution for that. As the post before says, install better battery stats so we can help you further. Also sometimes other things draining battery may come under one name such as 'screen'. Its not new.
This is not happening for the first time...
Ever since I rooted my device and flashed Android Revolutionary Rom on it, I noticed some weird behavior with my device/battery.
Last night I drained my battery to 6% and I turned it off. This morning I charged my phone with the phone stayed off and when the battery indicator screen lighted up it was showing that 50% juice remains. Since this is not happening for the first time, this time I would like to test on it to see whether there's really this much juice remains. So I turned my phone on and as expected, the battery indicator shows 50++% left. So I play around with it and I noticed the screen flashing terribly after some time. Not long after that the phone hang there and I had to do a hard reset by pulling out the battery. Before that, I can see that the battery is drained to around 20%. I was unable to power it on after pulling out the battery and when I connected my device to the charger, nothing happens (no display, no LED). So I left it there charging and after some time, finally the LED is lighting up (So, I assume that I drained the battery COMPLETELY just now). I can switch on the device afterwards and it shows 6% battery remains. I wonder why is this happening as this only happens when I charge my device with it turning off. Something wrong with the battery? Device? Or I have to do battery calibration?

Let it charge to 100% first before using. Then check how is the battery usage.
There might be an issue with the battery also. If it is swollen then it's time to get a new one.
Try using another battery and see. If it works fine on other battery then your battery needs to change,
The problem could also be in the ROM. Something could have gone wrong during installation even though it may look fine. If this is the case then reflash the ROM with a full wipe. If the problem still remains, return to stock rom and see.
I had the exact same problems, the screen flashes and stutters, network signal is lost and the phone turns off, it is due to uncalibrated battery.
There's a simple fix, download battery calibration from play stor (green android icon with percentage), charge your phone to 100% without using it, then click battery calibr. inside that app, then doscharge it till 0% (do your normal usage as ussual) and then charge it back to 100%
For healthy battery life don't let it drain lower than 10% it's the li-ion physics and always charge it fully, don't charge from 0 to 30-50-60% because the ions in the battery will not have a good flow.
Everything has it's lifespan but if it's configured and used properly it can have a long lifespan
Also to mention, if my recommendation doesn't work, your battery could be swolen due to inproper charging / heavy oc-ing or your charger is messed up.
Also to say, that flickering occured to me when i flashed a new rom and when i do lot of reboots, then the batterystats freak out, the voltages also and also your phone.
Charhe and use it properly, try to stay with a rom at least a couple of days to see how it'll go.

The battery usage is normal, and its not swollen. I guess I will try to calibrate the battery or reflash the ROM again.

Yea, I will try to calibrate my battery to see if it helps
I have always had a really poor SOT on this model.
Only once it did 4h, but normally it's about 2h or less.
I don't have many apps and I don't use stuff like facebook or other hungry social apps.
Since some days I started trying to boot into recovery after the battery reaches 0% and the device shuts down.
Well, yesterday it remained turned on into TWRP for 1h43m with screen brightness set at 50%.
I can understand that TWRP doesn't drain battery as a full running MIUI with apps and antennas, but it should be at 0% or anyway almost at a level that could not handle a rom running.
Does anyone have an idea of what could be the problem and how to fix it?
it's about your rom, try another rom and u'll have better SOT
TWRP doens't have many services as google services so it drains less battery
but your problem is the display of your battery, try some apps that calibrate battery
if all can't help, sorry to tell you that you should replace your battery
Battery draining so fast. (Only 2hr SOT)
At 30% phone automatically turning off and it shows low battery.... tried fastboot rom...and custom Roms too...
Now I'm using latest MIUI global beta 7.4.13
Please help guys....
Replace battery
calibrate the battery.
charge phone to 100%.
then use it until the battery is dead.
connect to the charger.
do not turn the phone on, while swithing off, charge it again to 100%.
keep 100% at least 10-15 mins
then turn on the phone and use as regular.
see if it fixes the problem
Greetings. The past month I've been getting wrong battery readings from my redmi 5(rosy, miui global 11.0.2 stable, android 8.1.0). It no longer charges to 100%, regardless if it's turned on or off, unless I unplug and replug the charger in which case it jumps immediately to 100%. There are massive percentage drops when idling( 20% drop in less than an hour), and the battery will drop all the way to 2% within 24hours. The battery life itself is no issue. I get consistently about 6-7 hours of screentime, and about 2 hours of that screentime the battery is stuck at 2%. I use the voltage readings from gsam monitor to know when the phone needs to charge, (3300mah battery, 4.3 max charge,3.45V minimum).
Attempting to repair the problem I've tried the following:
1) Allowed the phone to completely drain and shut down, left it to charge. No good. Stopped at 88%. I've attempted this multiple times to no effect.
2)Took the battery off the board and replugged it.
3) Bought a new battery altogether. Even replaced the usb board and the flex cable just to be sure.
4)Swapped the charger with one from a Redmi Note 5.
5) Rooted the phone, installed gsam battery monitor. Although I discovered various issues, the battery consumption is still negligible. Assuming I can trust the readings, 70% of battery life goes to the screen. 0ne thing worth noting however is the Android system process is constantly using the significant motion detector. I traced it back it the Google play services, but it doesn't allow me ,even with root access to turn off its use of sensors.
6) Deleted the batterystats.bin file from the system folder.
7) Enabled the battery saving feature and disabled synchronization.
8) Reset smartphone to factory settings.
9) Wiped data and cache from recovery.
10)Flashed a Pixel Experience custom rom.
11)Installed accubattery. It calculated a smaller battery capacity. However all the metrics and statistics were thrown out of whack as soon as the battery started freefalling from 40% to 2%(in idle).
12)Charged the phone from recovery mode(Orangefox). Still stuck at 87-88%.
The battery doesn't drain when the phone is turned off, but it still won't charge to 100% unless I replug the charger.
Also I forgot to mention but the phone is strictly used in airplane mode as secondary device so you can rule out cell standby drain from poor signal reception.
I'm thinking of flashing back the original rom but what are the odds of this being a rom related issue?
I'm currently testing it's full idle drain time. I won't use the device for at least 24 hours or wait until it's discharged completely.
Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? Thank you for your time.
