I am on NOS ROM using a global GSM SIM card, I hope to get some help here...... Please confirme whether it is software or hardware issue, and howbto resolve it.....
Any help will be much appreciated
EDIT: I solved my problem, I just dismantled my devise and found that the earpiece speaker is not fixed well, so I just fixed it in the right place, and everything goes fine.

I also have a Droid DNA and have had volume issues since the beginning. I took it into a Verizon store and was told that I would have to purchase headphones.......I purchased the Klipsch headphones but find it ridiculous that I had to do that. No one can hear me when I don't have them plugged in and I have to yell in my phone to have them hear me.
Mine is working fine. Maybe it has to do with GSM? I bought the phone through Verizon, and to use on Verizon, and I have no problems with it.

Hi all, I pray someone can help me, I have just bought a ZTE V967s and am on the whole pretty happy with the phone. The problem I have is that it keeps disconnecting from the mobile network when I switch between sound output device ie bluetooth to phone speaker or ear piece. Any ideas how I can stop this?
thanks in advance

Anyone able to help or shed light?
ANYONE?! Anyone had this issue with another phone before? Tried about 6 ROMS - inc the stock rom all with the same problem, interestingly it only happens with bluetooth, speaker to ear piece and back makes no difference.

I dont think that this is a cure.
It's still disconnects from both sims. If I have another call on hold I will lose it.
This is the only bug I have found in this phone.
Hello,
i have a the problem that my main speaker is sometimes very low. When i start playing music it's the normal volume for about 0,5 seconds but then it's really low. The problem is really often, not always, and even a restart of the phone doesn't work. I have already reset my phone but it still doesn't work.
Does anyone have the same problem or maybe a solution?
Best regards
Zillinda
i had it. its a hardware problem they will fix only if it will stop for good and not random... (thats why Z5c is my last sony)
my orginal post https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/help/speaker-stop-randomly-t3451518
It would be very helpful to know on which firmware you are, because it could also be software related.
Sounds to me like the low volume bug which is a known issue for nougat stock rom.

I am on 32.3.A.0.376 but i already have the problem since Marshmallow.
I just saw now that you wrote on your main speaker.
Does that mean the problem is only for the upper speaker?
Or do you have the problem on both.

It's on the speaker that plays music, and not the speaker what i use when i am calling someone.

That's partially the same one.
However not exactly. You got two speakers on your device which are hardware related identically. For playing music and video both are used to get stereo sound. For voice calls only one is used normally unless you change it by editing some system files.
So when you play music and get that problem, are both speakers low or just one?

Oh i thought that only the speaker on the down side plays music.

So i don't believe in a hardward issue. Seems to be the common low volume bug some devices have with nougat.
For more infos read the 3 nougat threads in general section about the .372 , .376 and the .378 firmware.
The strange thing is that you say you had it before with marshmallow. Not sure if that problem had existed before. That would make this even more shamefull for sony. Do you know which MM version had you installed before.
However you can try a clean flash of latest nougat. If it's still there, please try to make a clean install of latest MM rom 5.11
If that solves your problem you will have to wait for a new fixed nougat firmware from sony
in my case its since 5.1.1 but its randomly when i tap the speaker is start working good again (only the top one ,which it more important the top one has better sound range (100-24000Hz)
bottom one is (500-48000H) i think
i checked long ago with hertz sine wave scale

Wipe chace dalvic ,reboot
I had this problem multiple times already (i think it was 3). I tried nearly everything, I actually installed stock MIUI, but it didn't work.
So what helped me, was just waiting. After about 24h, it suddenly worked again. I didn't find anything 'bout that problem on xda, so I just stopped searching for it, the other day it just worked again.
Good luck

I found a solution on the Miui forum. The trick was to play an audio file and insert and remove the headphones as fast as possible several times. Apparently, the headphone jack gets blocked or dirty and the phone "thinks" the headphone is plugged and that's why no sound comes out of the speakers. So, at least for me, it wasn't a software issue....
Let me know if that works for you.

I had exactly the same problem. I've tried as you adviced and boom it works now. Thanks!
But I think that this is only a shorthanded victory, because if there is something in the jack, it will eventually block the contact again. So I wonder, is there some reasonable way to clear your jack and perhaps USB? I think that compressed air might do, but I don't know for sure.
Anyways thanks for fixing my sound again.
Have a nice day.
Sound issue!!
coming out of the speakers in ringtones but whenever u tap on a mp3 file it says no supported apps....I installed a music player from play store but the song doesn't play...it says invalid format...

Your phone is stuck in headphone mode. Try to clean the headphone jack. If that doesn't solve the problem then use some app like SoundAbout or Audio Router.

Redmi note 3 pro new buzzer install not sound. Please help.
Hello friends. Note 3 I received a new speaker because my speaker from my pro phone failed, but it didn't work. I returned and changed the product, but it didn't even have a single sizzle. I've reinstalled the old speaker, but it's working fine even though it's broken. There is a technical detail to be done during the installation of the buzzer. For example, if the speaker is not installed after the vibration module has been removed before the speaker is installed, the speaker does not work. Note that the vibration module of Note 3 pro was not sticky. It's not directly connected to the motherboard.

I think it's a chip for sound
Can someone please fix this horrendous problem on Redmi Note4 SD? The microphone's quality is horreondous and I'm not the only one who have this problem, but there are thousands asking the same thing, but the community and Xiaomi doesn't care about us. So please, could someone take care of this? It's a wonderful phone, it's perfect in everything except this damn software issue that's really annoying.
It's like having the phone under water. The more the environment is loud, the more the audio quality gets worse. I tried to modify some build.prop and xml files, but I have corrupted the system, so I installed the Unofficial Lineage OS 14, which is working flawlessy, but the issue persists. Other manufacturer, like Oneplus, have solved the problem.
So, please, can someone please take care of this? It would be immensly appreciated.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Snapdragon 625
Unlocked bootloader, rooted.
How are you so sure it's software issue, maybe audio chip/mic is just **** quality, i mean you cannot have everything high-end for that price, and it already has beefy specs so they had to make cuts somewhere.
I will pickup my Note 4 tomorrow so i cant say much anything about it, but i had mi4c before and it had crap audio aswell especially on headphones. (noise/distortion on low volume)

Because some people have solved the problem by modifying some files. Some say that the second microphone has the noise reduction algorithm that screws the audio quality. So I think that the problem is solveable.
Then use these files too and see if it fixes the issue.
I solved the problem by following the steps in this video.. tested in AEX ROM and xiaomi.eu 7.4.27

Dont do step 4.
I'll try without the step4 but before this, I better do a nandroid backup, Just in case
Here's an update: I followed the instructions in the video and I haven't modified the build prop file. At least the system boots but when I try to record a video, send a vocal note or make a call the app crashes saying that the voice recorder is not ready. Could someone help me?
I tired several things but no one worked. I don't know what to do
How about call quality, Is it good after this fix?
Call quality has nothing wrong, the problem come with video recording.
SOLVED!!!! http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=348078
The quality is now good, but it would be better if the audio was a little higher, same for the loudspeaker.
Device:
Redmi Note 4 SD
MIUI 8.2.10
Problem:
In-call mic volume is too low/distorted unless you speak very close to the phone. If phone is tilted, other person can hear only a robotic sound coming from space. However, internet calling apps (WhatsApp, FB Messenger, IMO etc.) works quite normal. Voice Recorder and Camera recordings are also quite acceptable.
Failed Solutions:
Re-flashed Stock ROM through fastboot; no difference. Custom ROMs don't resolve the problem either. Tried latest builds of Lineage, PA and RR.
Tried by disabling Google Voice / "OK Google" and denying Mic permission for Google app. Also tried SoundAbout app. Nothing helps.
Editing these files (as guided in 4pda post) improves the quality a little bit: audio_platform_info.xml, media_profiles.xml, mixer_paths_mtp.xml, build.prop.
Conclusion:
Changing "ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype" value to "none" improves the low volume issue but with low quality voice and disturbed speakerphone and earphone volumes.
Updated thread here.

Xiaomi solved the problem? Or we have to change strings in .xml files?
I spoke to the forum administration and they have acknowledged the issue and will soon get the fix. I don't have the exact dead line.
MIUI version 8.5.4.0 SOLVED the audio recording problem.
I am glad that with new I am using Redmi Note 4 (India). On 16th Aug 2017, I received the update.
