So I just followed the steps to unlock the bootloader for my Mate 10 pro and wanted to continue installing TWRP and then Magisc, but after I unlocked it, it refuses to show up in my adb devices. Any suggestions? I also tried to list the device on Ubuntu with no success When I try to run the fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp.img this msg come up:

Its listed as an Android Bootloader Interface if that helps...
Then maybe try using fastboot instead of adb you can install stuff from that.

Hi
I have Mm 6.01 installed via adb sideloading from lollipop without any wipe. Somehow it worked.
The reason I had to do it that way is that phone is encrypted but when I boot to TWRP it does not recognise my decryption Pin so I couldn't flash from recovery.
I was using the seraja recovery.
Anyone got access to the encrypted partitions through TWRP? I don't know how to install TWRP 3.0.2 which might have a fix for the pin problem. Each way I try doesn't work. Any ideas?

Since you was on a twrp recovery so you made your bootloader device unlocked so you can easily install twrp 3.0.2 which maybe help you in solving your problem
To flash Twrp 3.0.2 follow this:
1- Download Twrp 3.0.2 from this link: https://dl.twrp.me/sirius/twrp-3.0.2-0-sirius.img.html
2- By using Fastboot you have installed on your PC, Put the twrp 3.0.2 you have downloaded in step 1 in the folder of ADB and Fastboot and you can flash twrp 3.0.2 by using this command: fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-sirius.img
If there is any question or a problem with this guide just tell me and i will help you
I hope that i had helped you.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, however, it doesn't work because the encryption prevents it writing to the partition.

So your problem has been solved or not??
If not you have to unlock your bootloader which will allow you to install twrp recovery from adb command successfully.
Tell me the final result
Hi all,
I have an LG G5 H850. I'm trying to install TWRP using ADB. I've had it previously and it worked fine. I'm pretty sure the bootloader is unlocked. Anyway, when I do "fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1.1-0-h850.img" I get the following output:
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (19076 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.431s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.345s]
finished. total time: 0.781s
To me, that looks as though thats worked fine. Now when I try fastboot boot twrp-3.1.1.1-0-h850.img I get the following:
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.432s]
booting...
FAILED (remote: unknown command)
finished. total time: 0.456s
Has anyone got any ideas on this?

Had this issue a while back. I resorted to doing complete flash with LGUP to the latest version and then it worked. I had been messing around with various ROMS on different android versions.

Don't happen to know where I could get a rom that it would work with do you?
Managed to solve this. Flashed the TWRP image using fastboot flash recovery <img> via adb. Then I unplugged from USB, and got into recovery mode by doing power + volume down buttons and quickly release and repress ont he LG logo. Answered yes to both questions and got into TWRP.

That is the required way of doing it. You have to boot into recovery after flashing the recovery or it gets reset.
Hi,
Having a similar problem since trying to update my ROM ... and the Magisk install failed. Now I can only get to fastboot, can't get to recovery. And, tried this,
Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-0-h830.img
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (18644 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.439s]

Help!?! ... and thanks!

If you already have TWRP before just use the app.
If its the first time you flash twrp using the Recowvery method, make sure you have a copy of the recovery.img on your internal memory. :good:

I am new here and this was my first time actually trying any of this. I have my bootloader code, if that helps.
Phone turns on to erecovery mode if powered on normally. Running erecovery downloaded and installed RNE-L21 8.0.0.355(C185). It then asked me to Factory reset, after which it booted back in to erecovery. I can put phone in FASTBOOT&RESCUE MODE by plugging it in to PC and holding power + vol. down.

I wanted to downgrade from Oreo to Nougat.
To unlock bootloader, I used Potatonv:

I installed the TWRP in this post:
TWRP For Mate 10 lite 8.0 Oreo Version For RNE-L21C185
Here is twrp for HUAWEI MATE 10 LITE. Who want? Comment Here. :p
forum.xda-developers.com
I booted in to TWRP with
-code
adb reboot recovery
I made a backup using TWRP but I lost it and couldn't make another one because of some error in TWRP.
I then installed magisk .zip file through TWRP.
The phone would boot in TWRP no matter which option I chose in the Reboot menu of TWRP. Being really impatient, I decided to flash another version of TWRP on recovery partition, with SD card, through TWRP itself. I got this 2nd TWRP from:
How to Install TWRP Recovery and Root Huawei Mate 10 Lite
In this article, we will guide you on how to root Huawei Mate 10 Lite and Install TWRP Recovery.
clickitornot.com
The new TWRP doesn't work and phone does not show bootloader unlocked warning anymore. Upon rebooting after new TWRP, phone showed this error first few times.
I'm not really sure what to do but I figured I'd run some commands that might help someone figure out what I should do.

You can downgrade to Nougat using two methods :
1. Via HiSuite
2. Using HuRupdater tool & TWRP. Unfortunately, this method needs Firmware Finder and Huawei servers are offline. So via HiSuite only.
Don't try downgrade to the lower android version via dload method flashing service ROM (aka full stock firmware), it may brick your phone.
