I designed my wall with few widgets such as honeycomb clock and memo widget. But it won't load every time i restart my NT. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
which launcher are you using? i am using adw launcher and dont have that problem. it is the paid version though
Yep, widgets don't work on the Nook Tablet for some people. (Actually, go launcher widgets work for me, but nothing else.) I wonder if this is a go launcher paid vs not paid issue though? Hmm.. I assumed it wasn't since it affected people with ADW launcher as well (unless they also had Go Launcher installed, just not using it).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357009&highlight=widget
Some people fixed it with a go launcher update or downgrade, some with not using homecatcher, some with adding 160dpi fixes to their build.prop file. The only one I haven't tried for me was the 160dpi edits, and nothing else has fixed widget issues for me.
Actually, a recent post I haven't tried is moving go launcher to the system folder. *tries*
edit: Yep, that fixed it. Or at least my non-go launcher widget is still there after one reboot, whereas previously it wasn't.
Thanks guys!!
ffwalrus's post helped me to solve the problem!
So this seems to have worked for me on my Nook Tablet. Using Go Launcher 2.66 and Home Catcher to re-purpose the "n" button. Go Launcher is set as default upon boot, and upon hitting the "n" button. The 160 dpi fix mentioned above didn't work for me, and I was having this issue on all 2.65 and 2.66 of Go Launcher. This workaround seems to have fixed it for me. I got the initial idea from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360036
Using Root Explorer or similar tool move your alternate launcher APK from /data/app to /system/app. Change the permissions to 777 (all 3 rows checked in root explorer). Then restart, and you should be good. I have restarted numerous times now, and had no widget problems.
Step-by-Step Directions:
Open Root Explorer
Browse to /system
Click Mount R/W button
Navigate to /data/app
Long Press launcher APK file (for me it was com.gau/go/launcherex-1.apk)
Choose Move
Navigate to /system/app
Press Paste button
Long Press freshly pasted APK file
Choose Permissions
Check all the top 9 checkboxes (Read, Write, Execute for Owner, Group, Others), leave all others as they are.
Press OK
Navigate to /system
Press Mount R/O button
Restart Nook
Usual at your own risk disclaimer applies.
This method worked for me.
Thanks, worked well, widgets keep working after a reboot.

I'm not 100% but if you had access to standard launcher you could have used the search function to load up your original file explorer (I always use es file explorer, works a bit better in some cases than root explorer and it's 100% free), then you could have moved your software back to the correct place. I think you can even find market using search if you needed to install.
This works beautifully. Thanks so much!
Widgets are working after reboots again. I even left a couple failed widgets in place and they were restored without having to rebuild all my home screens
I agree that ES explorer is easier to use and being free doesn't hurt either.
If I do this fix will Go Launcher still update properly?
---------- Post added at 03:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:56 PM ----------
I would actually recommend creating a symbolic link to the file instead of moving it. this will ensure that any changes and updates are made to the file in its original location.
I've verified that this works. follow all the steps, except instead of moving the file create a link in system/app that points to the apk in data/app.
How do you create a link with root explorer?
I use esexplorer and when I open the file manager it show me only the sd card file. How can I open the file system?

you long tap on the file and select "link to this file". A button will appear that says "create link"...or something like that.
Ok. Thanks. Guess that was rather "noob" of me. Should've just tried first. Thanks!
Strange, when I create the link, the system folder will not allow me to revert back to R/O. Stays in R/W mode. Is that do to the link? Is it an issue?
I've tried:
- the 160dpi fix
- getting rid of home catcher
- moving golauncher + all widgets to /system/apps and changing the permissions
Nothing has worked.
Any other workarounds out there? Would be eternally grateful.
widgets disapear
I used the link file method with root explorer, and when I rebooted there were no widgets on my screens. There were also no problem loading widget boxes either. When I tried to replace the widgets I found that the widgets were still there but invisible. When I long pressed on the screen I got the re size/delete box. I was able to delete and replace them.
I just recently pulled the GO Launcher and other apps out of the System\Apps folder, figured there was no real reason to have them their. I also updated GO launcher at the same time. I thought it was the update, that stopped the widgets on reboot, will try moving GO Launcher back to system\apps folder. I also moved all the GO themes and GO locker .APKs, should they get put into the system\apps folder as well. I am also having issues with GO Locker not coming up on reboot. does any body have an answer for GO locker?

I appreciate your response about GO Launcher, my question was about GO Locker. The GO Locker app turns off it's lock screen after a reboot, only the system lock screen is their. Again my question is, will moving GO Launcher app to the system\apps folder fix the GO Locker app issue? or should I move all the GO Apps, GO Themes, GO Widgets, GO Keyboard etc. .apks, to the system\apps folder to fix issue? I am a person who likes to know why as well as how. I already know how, and it's an easy fix, I just find it helpful to know as much of the why as possible. This gives me the tools to solve other issues later, and the knowledge to help others to.
I asked this once before, don't remember if I ever got an answer; If you create a symbolic link in the system/apps folder, will it have the same effect as copying the original file?
Hi, I'm having a strange problem with the folders on TouchWiz. After I've filled some apps into a folder which i created, say 4 apps in total for example, and they are arranged in the order 1,2,3,4 (from left to right). But after i reboot the phone, The apps in the folders rearrange themselves in the opposite order 4,3,2,1 (from left to right). In short, the apps in the folders rearrange themselves in the reverse order everytime i reboot my phone. Any idea on how to fix this issue? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure u can see an order there or?
So f.ex. before reboot it's sorted by time from input (newest to old)
After reboot it's sorted by f.ex. name? PLS check this first.
CHEERS
What is f.ex. ? Folder extension?
What I mean is that I've created this folder called "News" then i started to drag apps into the folder, Pulse followed by Time Mobile followed by Engadget. So now the apps are in that order in that "News" folder. Then i reboot my phone, and the apps inside the folder are now arranged in the order Engadget followed by Time Mobile followed by Pulse. In short, the apps reverse their arrangement WITHIN the folder everytime i reboot the phone. And yes, the order of apps is sorted by time from input into the folder. Before reboot, oldest to newest. After reboot, newest to oldest. The order gets reversed with every reboot of the phone.
The folders themselves don't have auto rearrange problem, same goes for the apps outside the folders. They remain in the same position before and after reboot.
I hope I've made myself clearer now.
Bump. Anyone has any solution?

f.ex. : for example
hmm so for me listen logical.
News folder: news to old
Sure while creating it, it's in other way.
So Maybe u find an app which helps to create folder,
but stock folder can't be changed especially if they are created from app?!

No offense but i don't understand a thing you typed.
I am using stock ROM so my folders are created using the stock folders app which comes together with the standard default TouchWiz launcher.
This is how i create folders: (Application Tray > Menu > Edit > Drag icons into "Add folder")
Folders can be renamed. After the folder is created (by default it will be named as "Folder 1") you can just open up the folder and at the top of the folder which says "Folder 1" you tap and hold it for about 2 seconds and the system will prompt you to rename the folder.
Please try Menu > Save after changing apps or folder location.

This is a complete theming guide for android!!!it allows you to change the look of android completely to diifferent skins and os's
Windows Phone 7
This is a simple procedure to change the interface of android to windows phone
First of all,I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY HARM YOU MAY CAUSE TO YOUR DEVICE!!!!!!
First download these awesome softwares from other cool devs available on the play store or as apks on the net
Launcher 7(Home screen)
Photo safari(Pictures hub)
Z player (Music Player)
WP7 Notifications(Notifications.Duh!!)
My xbox live(games hub)
Wp7 Lock(lock screen)
WP7 Contacts(Contacts)
Wp7 Phone(optional)
Wp7 calculator
Wp7 email
Downloaded? Now for the second step,Shift all the user apps to system apps.Apps like the phone and music should be replaced.Xbox live, calculator can just be loaded.NoteELETE THE ODEX FILES IF YOURE DELETING A SYSTEM APP!!!
In case you dont knw how to make a user app to system read on,else, skip the next para
There are two ways you can convert a user app to system:The NOOB way and the XDA way!
Noob wayownload titanium backup pro, long press an app,go to special functions and click move to system app Or download system app mover.
XDA way:
Important: Make sure to allow any SuperUser permission requests that you may get during these steps..
Procedure
Configuring ES File Explorer for root read/write access (required only once):
Launch ES File Explorer, press Menu and tap ‘Settings’.
In the settings, enable the ‘Up to root’ check box.
Further down in the settings, enable ‘Root Explorer’ check box. You will get a warning that you should confirm.
You will then get the Superuser permissions request that you must allow.
Finally, enable the ‘Mount File System’ check box, and press the back key to get back to the explorer interface. ES File Explorer is now configured to work as a root explorer. You do not need to do this again on the same device now, unless you uninstall ES File Explorer, perform a factory reset or install another ROM.
Finding the APK of an already-installed normal app (skip to step 3 if you already have the APK):
First of all, install the app from Play Store, if you haven’t already done that.
Launch ES File Explorer and go to /data/app. (You may have to press the back button to get to / first).
If you know the icon of the app, you can easily find it here. If you are having trouble finding the app here due to the confusing names or because of having a lot of apps installed, just search for the app in Google Play Store in a web browser and look at its Play Store link for the name. The file name will basically be the part after ?id= in its market link (and before any other question mark that may or may not appear in the link).
If you already have the APK of the file that you want to install as a system app, make sure you have transferred it to your device’s SD card if you haven’t done that already. Also make sure you know the path where you have copied it on the SD card.
Once you have located the required APK on the SD card from ES File Explorer, tap-and-hold on its icon till you get a menu, and tap ‘Cut’. You should see a little blue arrow on the bottom of the screen now. (You may select ‘Copy’ instead of ‘Cut’ if you are copying a file over from the SD card and want to keep a copy there. In case of copying an APK from /data/app, always use ‘Cut’.)ES File Explorer Copying
Now press the back button till you reach / and then browse to /system/app/
Tap the little arrow that you see on the bottom of the screen. It will bring up a pane with the icon of the copied file.
Tap on the file’s icon, and it will be transferred to /system/app/.
Now find the app’s icon in the list of files there and tap-and-hold on it till you get the menu.
Scroll down in the menu till you see ‘Properties’ and tap on it. You will now see the properties dialog.
Tap the ‘Change’ button in front of the Permissions to bring up the permissions dialog.
Make sure everything under ‘Read’ is checked, only ‘User’ is checked under ‘Write’ and nothing is checked under ‘Execute’ Your screen should look like the following:ES File Explorer Permissions
Tap OK on this screen and then on the Properties screen. Your app’s permissions are now set correctly.
Reboot your device. Your app is now ready to be used as a system app.(optional)
Well were done!
youre ready to use ur brand new WP7!!!

I'm currently using a wallpaper on my phone that was originally from a picture file that I manually copied onto the SD card and placed in a folder I specifically created for such background wallpapers. I don't want to lose the wallpaper, but as far as I can tell that file is no longer in the backgrounds folder, so I'm guessing that if I change the background or theme on my phone, it will disappear. Obviously, the file is somewhere on the phone since the background remains in use, but I can't find it.
So...can someone tell me how to determine the location of the file currently being used as the background wallpaper?
Thanks!
PS - I'm running CM10.1.3.

That app definitely brought up more graphic files than my previous ones, but I still wasn't able to find it. The good news is that I finally managed to locate the same background elsewhere on the Internet and re-downloaded it, so all is well. I'll keep playing with this app, though. Looks like it might come in handy. Thanks for your help!
Here is a mod to make all your apps multi windows compatible.
THIS MOD WORKS ONLY WITH 4.2.2
I know that there are some apps here and there that do the same job but the advantage of this mod is that:
1-it works without any third part app which means that you'll save some ram and some battery,
2-with third apps when you install a new app you have to reboot to have that new app to show in the multi windows tray, whereas with this mod you don't need to reboot, the app shows straight away in the tray.
DO A BACKUP JUST IN CASE
Installation
Download AllAppsMultiWindowsMega6.3.zip, flash it from recovery, clean dalvik cache, reboot.
Bonus
I added a second zip called permissions mw.zip.
It contains files that will enable you to activate two hidden functions in the multiwindows tray (recent and templates), and to have multi instance.
DO NOT FLASH IT but extract the two files.
Navigate to your system/etc/permissions folder.
Add .bak at the end of com.sec.feature.multiwindow.xml so that it becomes com.sec.feature.multiwindow.xml.bak.
Copy the two files from the zip into the folder.
Set permissions to rw, r, r (6, 4, 4).
Reboot.
Now you can see a recent tray at the top of the flashbar (multii windows bar), and a button with a cross at the bottom (below the edit button) of it that is the template button.
Bugs
I found the recent function somehow wonky, but it kinda works and maybe it'll work better for you depending on your phone's configuration.
Multi instance doesn't work for all apps, and for some apps one can't open two windows one after the other (one has to open one window of let's say app A, then app B, then one can open a second window of app A with the first app A still open).
Enjoy!
thank you so much for this
