hi guys how to show my contacts on GO SMS even my contacts didint recognize with GO SMS but stock messaging recognized it TIA
try SyncMyPix to sync your contacts in gmail with your facebooks contacts. After that they should show up in go sms.
I want to do a factory reset so my data works so can someone tell me a easy way to backup my contacts and sms
And if i remember right the market kind of backs up my apps, but if i am wrong please tell me
Not sure about SMS, but Gmail and Verizons Backup Assistant both can backup your contacts.

the backup assistant gives me an error about not connecting to server, and how do i use gmail for it?
There are apps for backing up texts. They all have generic names like SMS backup. I've used them a few times then realized I don't really need to save my texts. Your contacts should be synced to your GMAIL account though.

When you are at the start-up screen it will ask if you are a new user or have an existing Google account. Once you sign in it will start syncronizing your mail and contacts.
When you make contacts on your phone, you are given a option to make a phone contact or google.contact. always choose google contact. Check options>accounts and sync, make sure all is set to sync, which it is defaulted to sync on its own...doesnt hurt to check.
But when you wipe your phone or get a different android phone, during the setup process you enter your gmail info to setup your phone. Your gmail will sync, you can browse the market...but the best part is that the calander and google contacts will auto download.
So log on to your computer and check gmail and see if your contacts are there, then you should be set
easiest thing to do, and I am amazed noone has mentioned it, is to use an app called MyBackup Root.
You can backup call log, SMS, MMS, Contacts(if you have ones google doesn't save for you), apps, and app data.
I have always preferred this to Titanium Backup
ok, got it all backed up, but where is that factor reset option, i cant find it anywhere but i know i saw it earlier.
I restored sms using SMS backup+ but it's all screwed up. The order the text messages appear in seems to be random, for example a text message I got yesterday is way down the list. Also inside the thread for a specific contact, it's in reverse order. So the most recent message is at the top and I have to scroll all the way up. How do I fix this?
I know all the data should be there because I had all text messages email to my gmail account.
Have you rebooted after the restore? I often find that fixes these kind of things.
I have set up HangOuts to merge both my SMS and GoogleVoice. If I receive a voice mail from a contact, it gets threaded into my SMS conversation with that person. How do I delete the voice mail and not the entire conversation thread?
Thanks
GH
This is relatively easy. It cannot be done through the hangouts app. You must do it on the google voice website OR google voice app. Delete it in google voice and it disappears in hangouts. Also, if you delete the hangout, ALL voicemail and SMS will be gone (with no trash can to recover them from). So, use GV to delete voicemails and use gmail "chats" to selectively delete SMS.
Hi all!
The Gmail app for Anroid does not allow you to delete individual messages from a threaded conversation. It's all or nothing.
I have tried a few alternative apps, and while some of them seem to allow deleting individual messages, things get messed up when this is synced back to Gmail's servers. The deleted message is either not deleted in the main Gmail app, or the whole conversation shows as deleted.
It's quite odd that the official Gmail app does not allow that. Is there an app that does this properly?
Thank you!
