Amazfit BIP - touchscreen sensitivity? - Amazfit

I think I might have an issue with touchscreen sensitivity along the left edge of my new Amazfit BIP...
If examined properly, there is noticeable difference between touch sensitivity along the right vs. the left screen border with right side being super-sensitive and left side less so (and center being 'normal').
The least sensitive part of the screen is around the left corner closest to 'Amazfit' below the screen.
This isn't really noticeable unless you look for it because most of the time people navigate using the central portion of the screen, but this problem kind of tickles my OCD anyway.
Did anyone notice this or is it just me?
Please, check it by touching very lightly and gently in the corners... Does the watch registers every touch - every time, uniformly?
Thank you!

Multitouch doesn't work if you don't hold the hero with both hands.

Ok, probably not. There's gotta be a perfectly valid explanation, but I just noticed this:
When I open Albums on my Hero and look at a single photograph, I can zoom in and out by pinching. Same goes for web pages. We all know this.
But the thing is: if I put my phone down on the table and try to pinch with just one hand (thumb+index finger), it doesn't work!
I only need to touch the phone with one finger on my left hand and it starts working. I have to touch the back or the frame. The chin doesn't react.
I tried it on an iPhone and it works with only one hand. It must be some conductivity issue and the Hero simply has a touch screen that works differently from iPhones.
It isn't really a problem for me: I can hold the phone in both hands while pinching. I just found it slightly interesting...
Yeah I have noticed that as well. Although if you try to calibrate using the g-sensor calibration tool it sometime fixes the issue...
Clue is in the technology? Capacitative touch screen....hit the physics books guys
A good capacitive screen doesn't require the user to complete a circuit with the phone using another hand to hold it, or by touching the bezel with a finger. The problem is either in the circuitry driving the touchscreen or possibly with the algorithms used to establish finger gestures and position.
It's even feasible that the metal bezel interferes with the electrostatic field introduced when your finger is in proximity with the screen. This would explain why the sensitivity is reduced around the edges of the screen.
Spose you need to form a complete circuit for it to work. Interesting point though, I didn't know that capacitive screens needed a second 'plate' to work (i.e. more than just the screen alone).
Makes sense though if you think about it.

The metal bezel actually acts like a ground point between the capacitive circuitry and your finger. When you are touching at the very edges of the capacitive area there simply isn't enough room to get a good grounding point so the driver/controller gets a hard time of locating what points are actually grounded. The bezel helps in this regard.

...perhaps not then lol
Yeah, well I hate to be the one to ask, but why does it work on the iPhone then? I realize it's a grounding / closed circuit issue, but if another similar phone can do it, then there's obviously a way around it.
And another question: Why doesn't pinching work, but normal one-fingered touching does?
Only place where I could see this becoming a problem is when you dock your device to some plastic holder in a car and want to pinch to zoom in some navigator software. Letting go of the steering wheel to use two hands on your phone isn't necessarily the safest thing in the world. One would assume though, that the interface in any navigator software wouldn't require complex gestures while operating it...
i confrim, using hero without touch the metal edge result in less responsivity and difficult on multitouch operation
hope new firmware can solve this, too many errors using it like a normal keyboard on a table!

[Q] Any way to push the screen into the bezel?

It appears that the screen in the bottom left hand corner of the phone (by the settings button) on my phone is raised slightly higher than the rest of the phone. Where the rest of the screen is clearly below the height of the bezel, this corner appears to be flush. At the end of the day this isn't a big deal, but I would like for the screen to be even. Upon inspection of the phone, the speaker location is directly under this spot, so it makes me wonder if this is intended since there are more electronics in that spot.
I am gonna go by the store and check out a demo, but I would still like to know if anyone else has noticed this.
My phone is not like that. It's slightly recessed all the way around.
I put a screen proctor on it. It is hard to tell....
Mine is slightly recessed too. I am trying to get a picture of it, but it is hard to accurately show. From what I can tell, the screen becomes more recessed as it approaches the top of the screen. From side to side the screen should be at the same recess point. On my phone this is true for the whole phone except for at the bottom where the left side is raised a hair bit more than the right now. It honestly isn't a big deal, it was just one of those things that I noticed and will continue to bother me until I either exchange it or forget about it.

[Q] What is making my screen slightly uneven?

I've noticed that on my phone the distance between the screen and the bezel is not even all the way around the phone. It looks like in the top right and top left the screen is deeper than the bottom. At the same time the screen in the bottom left is higher than the rest of the phone. The screen doesn't appear to be loose, so I doubt this will ever be an issue, but I was wondering what exactly causes this. I've checked out a few phones from different stores this seems to vary between phone to phone. I have seen a few that are more or less even all the way around while I have seen others like mine. Between the ones I have seen with the varying distance, the bottom left corner seems to always be higher than the rest.
That's been reported on. Seems quality checks vary a bit. No one has posted any problems resulting from it. Most phone cases cover the difference.

I am not talking about the space between the bezel and the screen horizontally, I am talking vertically. The bottom left corner looks like the glue didn't stick properly causing it to become unstuck. If I press on the screen in that area there is a noticeable sound like when your fingers have something sticky on them and you put them together and take them apart. However, this sound might be created due to the fact that that corner is where the speaker is and the plastic is weaker because of the holes.

Mine makes the same noise and I don't have a raised area of the screen in the bottom left corner...

Haven't heard much about it making a noise when you press on it, but a number have posted about your issue. Seems it's always the bottom and either the right or left side being higher. No one has yet posted about both being higher, at least not yet.
Samsung screens are attached to the phone by an adhesive tape/pad. So it would be possible that some bad batches went out allowing the screen to lift. All Samsung phones come with a one year warranty. You'll be without a phone but you can send it in to get fixed if it bothers you enough or gets worse.
If you go to their website you can register your phone and they will extend the warranty a little bit. I think at least a month longer.

Screen Dead spot

So, I have the HTC Desire 610 and i have had it for around 5 months now. I use a body glove case that sometimes comes off in my pocket. However, on the actual phone there is a "dead spot" which is a vertical line about a finger width in width going down the right side of my screen. it does not respond to touch, but acts like i am pressing both sides simultaneously on either side of the column. Also, the rest of the screen is becoming less responsive, requireing multiple taps to select something. Why? How do i fix this?
This is a common problem a lot of people have and the simply don't know why. Under the screen is something called a digitizer, which maps where you fingers are and sends the data to your phone, telling it what to do when you touch it. If it gets damaged, you get things like unresponsive spots on the screen and sometimes the screen will go crazy, and go all over the place. A new digitizer is needed, although there hard to put in and time consuming, so I recommend getting a new screen entirely.

Problem with "dead zones" on screen, where touch is not working. Am I the only one?

Problem with "dead zones" on screen, where touch is not working. Am I the only one?
Hi!
I have some problem with my Honor 10. I believe that it existed since I bought it brand new from the store. On the left side of my screen is a narrow "zone" that have few millimeters and where the touch is not working. This "zone" is a narrow "strap" going from bottom to the top of the screen, along the left edge of the screen. Usually I don't notice that but sometimes it is a little irritating when I am touching "a" letter on my keyboard and nothing happens, and I have to touch it a millimeter more on the right, than on the left. There is no such problem on the right side of the screen.
I installed application to test touch screen called "Touch Screen Test".
and here you can see what do I mean by that "dead zone" - I ran my finger across the left edge screen on this app, trying to go as much to the left as possible and there is a line on the left, where the touch is not going completely to the left edge of the screen. Here is a photo (sorry for not using IMG tag, but when I used it, the image did not work):
i.imgur.com/2COvHvA.jpg
( the white line fading to gray are where I touched my finger, couldn't go more to the left, as if touchscreen was broke there)
On the right side, there is no such problem, or the "dead zone" is much smaller:

Does my device have some kind of factory problem, or all Honor 10 users have this thing? Is it to prevent people from accidentally touching their screen with finger while holding the phone? Maybe it can be turned off?
Thanks for any help and information!

Unfortunately what you have is a factory problem. I don't see why they would put some sort of protection only on one side.
I did the test as well and this is my result. When I draw a vertical line the screen protector doesn't allow me to go exactly to the edge but with a horizontal line I could. And I have the same result on both sides

I can see that you have FHD+ resolution on your Honor 10. I've set mine to FHD+ too, and did the test again. I can confirm, that on mine, the line is somewhere between the letters "e" and "n" in word "open" (there is "Open menu by the volume up" on the upper side of screen in this app). On your Honor, the line is much more to the left, much closer to the edge, between the first letter "O" and "p".
And on mine, even when I do horizontal line, it stops there, do not go to the edge.
Thanks for helping me. So seems like this is just a problem with my Honor 10, not some kind of weird feature. Lesson learned - I will check things like that while buying a phone in the future.

I am really sorry that you have this issue ?

My phone is still under warranty(support app>me>my device>), probably yours as well. June should be the last month. Try to see if you can have it fixed or replaced it is worth trying even if you are going to move on with another phone ?
