Update to B366 using FF - Honor 9 Questions & Answers

Hier everyone, my honor 9 is currently running B364,and I'd like to update to B366,although I can't see the update in settings. FF gives several B366 packages, FullOta-MF-PV,OTA-MF,etc....
Which one should I choose to update safely my Honor 9 ? And what method ?

As far as I know, HiSuite method is broken since EMUI 5.0.
I did according this http://ministryofsolutions.com/2017...on-l29-oreo-firmware-emui-8-asia-pacific.html instructions.
Version for C432 doesn't work.
Any Update on Mate 9 MHA-L00 Android 8 update
I have Mate 9 MHA-L00 running android 7 emui 5.01, I would be grateful to receive the Oreo 8 update too. Thanks in advance
This is the thread for Mate 9 PRO, not Mate 9. For Mate 9 go here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...-oreo-update-emui-8-0-download-t3698229/page3
If you install it I think there is no way to downgrade it to EMUI 5.0 version. I tried several methods after learning it as beta version but couldn't succeed. You can't install TWRP again so HWOTA won't work. Need a suitable TWRP file to downgrade.
At Mate 9 page there were a new HWOTA8 method to downgrade or reinstall. But there is nothing for Mate 9 Pro. Waiting patiently...

Just to confirm that Method 1 is working nicely, I got some problems during the update because I forgot to rename the files properly, but everything else was smoothtly.
I just had to lock bootloader again after installing the beta because I didn't like the message from the beginning.
On first reboot, I was looking settings, playing with Google Assistant and so on, and then I relocked bootloader to start a new fresh install.
No problems so far.

Honor 9 UK Oreo OTA

Firstly, apologies if this is a stupid question - this is my first time posting.
I have been following threads on here about the Oreo OTA update and people have been confirming it left and right, however I still haven't received anything in the UK.
Is it down to my device?
Is it safe to follow a guide on installing it from FF?
Thank you in advance.
You're on C432B120 ?
I'm still waiting too - on C432B183
" Is it safe to follow a guide on installing it from FF? "
I've use Firmware Finder to update my Honor9 ( from 183 to Oreo ) with no problems, after a few days, without FF ,I get new OTA from android, so, I think it's safe. In my case : Nothing is unlock no root , nothing, only Stock.
Thanks for all the replies. I'm on C432B183.
I'll try the FF option
Just asking!
Hi all, March is over for us in the UK in just under 4 and a half hours did anyone get the official update to Oreo other than using firmware finder? Just wish they (honor) would of just kept silent on the update until it was rolling out instead of all this guessing
Cheers
Nothing here. I only got my phone a few days ago and it did an update but only to the same version as you guys.
You tried on wifi ?
Tried on wifi connected to their PC software, not sure if I want to go down the firmware finder route just yet as there is always a chance of bricking the phone and I should of mentioned it is a retail unlocked honor 9 bought in the UK from J__n Lew_s (not sure if we can, name names so to speak on the forum) again not moaning about the phone just the lack of official information even sent honor a tweet but I will probably wait and wait for a reply

FF is totally safe if you always use the IMEI approved ones. Also, use the full OTA files. (Larger ones)

Using firmware finder no doubt will work I was wondering will a phone updated that way still receive official future ota updates for security etc or once it has been used do you have to update using FF?
I updated mine to B180 via FF and got an OTA update for B183 a few days later. Also updated to Oreo via FF with no problems. My phone came from Three.

Yes, FF only makes your phone "skip in line" of the OTA queue.
Thanks for those answers think I will update it when I return from work later
Cheers
I'm on C432B183 and am getting nothing. Firmware Finder is always saying that any new OTA update is not approved for the device...

I'm not sure about ALP, but for BLA none of the updates available on FF work. I've tested all 5 different B300, B301 and B302, all fail at 62% where /product is supposed to be flashed. Log says it can't flash because partition is too small. So that image is either corrupt or it doesn't resize it correctly.
So we probably have to wait. It's still in beta for ALP and BLA as far as I know.

Change region from 636 to 432 honor 10 emui 9

Hi I am on emui 9
With COL-L29 on 9.1.0358
What is the easiest way to change region on this thing. Wanna get ready for emui 10 or beta access In Europe
Thx
I think you can use FirmwareFinder from the Play Store and install new (legit!) software from there, through e-Recovery, however I've never used it before. Mnay other users have reported success with this method though so it's up to you....
If you do do it, don't install the newest version. Install the full-OTA update first and then install the smaller updates after otherwise your device will brick.
What is e recovery? How do I get it
anymore takers ?

Update to EMUI 9 Using Firmware Finder

Hi, I am using Huawei p20 lite with the build number ANE-LX2C636 and I have been stuck with EMUI 8 for years now and I want to update it to 9 using Firmware Finder, the question is which update should I choose from the list (I know how to check if the update is compatible with my device) since there is a lot and my Android version is very old, should I just install every compatible update starting from the bottom or what?
Thank you guys for your help.

Hi, have you tried upgrade via HiSuite (chinese version) , via HiCare or using eRecovery & Wi-Fi?

Over the course of one month I've tried everything you said two times each, I even contacted Huawei local costumer service and they replied and I quote: "Judging by your IMEI number it doesn't appear that you have a Huawei device at the first place, that is why you don't get updates", so yeah, the phone that I've purchased from an official vendor with a relatively higher price than the free market isn't even registered.
Note: yesterday I tried to download a FullOTA ANE-LX2 EMUI 9.0. update via Firmware Finder and the download unfortunately failed.

FF won't help you, you can try get bootloader unlock code for 4euros on hcu-client.com , then rebrand your phone to global version. Or, buy Service ROM on easy-firmware for 17euros and upgrade your phone to EMUI 9.1 using dload method (yes, crazy ). Sorry, I can't help you anymore
P.S.: try a google search to find the method "patched HiSuite" or "proxy HiSuite", it may help you. Good luck!
