I'm looking at using WidgetLocker to replace the lockscreen on the Note. But one of the things I love about the default lock screen is that I can slide my figer anywhere on the screen to unlock it.
Is there anything like that with WidgetLocker or any way to configure it?
Yes I've been looking for that too...hopefully someone will have a suggestion.
I have tried to change the lock screen on the S3, and it doesnt seem to want to change from the original one.
anyone knows what im doing wrong? or is this a bug?
i go to lock screen options, wallpapers/ choose one, crop/change size,/ save and then on the lock screen i get still the same original one.
apparently it looks like the ripple effect is only available on the original lock screen wallpaper and you cannot have it in any other wallpaper, not even the ones included in the phone.
That's wrong.
I changed the wallpaper for the lockscreen and the ripple effect and the image is working. I now have my personal image and the ripple effect.
The ripple effect is not working for the "tilt/move-unlock" (no idea how it's called in english) as far as I have tested.
What do you mean by you want to change the lock screen? If you want to change the lock screen type, then go to settings - security- screen lock. There you can change it to PIN, Pattern etc. Also there are options to turn ripple effect on or off.
Btw. I have a problem with my galaxy s3 too: the original music player does not appear on the lock screen for me when playing songs, meaning I cannot pause, skip songs from lock screen. Do you have the same problem?

No the picture I used was on the extsdcard.
Have you tried changing the wallpaper and the lockscreen picture at the same time?
There is an extra option for that.
Does that change anything?
I can change the homescreen but not the lock screen. Lock screen can only change with a live wallpaper

When i try to use a photo all it does is create a copy of the photo in the dcim folder

That's great, maybe I should do too. Can you check if the stock music player control shows up in lockscreen during playback?
i havent tried that yet, as i dont use the phone for music a lot, but ill give it a go

Tried the music player. It doesn't show on the lockscreen either. I'm not sure if it is supposed to though. Anyone else can clarify?

I was aware of that. It was for some reason not allowing me to get my own screen up. A hard reset fixed it and i found out from Samsung that there is no option to keep the music player on the lock screen

I was wondering if the default lockscreen on Jellybean was customization. I came from using the Jellybean theme on WidgetLocker and had it so unlock was at the top of the circle, camera was on the left and voice search was on the right. It made access to much of my phone very quick but I didn't like the way much of the major functions like music playing or a missed call or message wouldn't integrate at all. I recently switched to a stock Jellybean ROM and I like the default lockscreen and the way notifications integrate well but I don't like the slow access to things. The way you swipe from the left to access the camera works okay but I don't like how it lingers there for a second or two before it gives me control. So is it customizable and if not does anyone know to add more integration to widgetlocker? Thanks
So Im trying to personalize the lgg5 current lockscreen(i wwould like to have a kind of iphone lock screen, i like how they show you notifications) i found a nice one on play store actually that is Next, i like it, the problem its that i have that lockscreen and the system lockscreen on background, so when I unlock Next lockscreen, i have to unlock System lockscreen after. With fingerprint it works good because it unlocks both lockscreen at the same time. But i would like to have only one lockscreen enabled, i can do this actually with Next but i lose fingerprint option(beacause you only can enable this with other lockscreen option for backup)
I dont have root experience but, it is possibly to modify lockscreen with root? Or it exist another lockscreen app that someone of u uses that doesnt have this issue?

So I was wondering why there are no media controls on my Honor 10's lock screen when music is playing (usually via Spotify).
It's not really cool to unlock the phone, swipe down, open spotify and press next when all you want to do is skip a song.
Do these controls show up on your lockscreen?
Did I maybe disable them without noticing?

I do have them there, try disabling having to show your face to show notifications on lockscreen in face unlock settings, was a culprit for me before.

Hey thanks for your suggestion, I've now disabled face unlock, gave Spotify every possible permission (like ignore "do not disturb" mode, draw on lockscreen etc). But still nothing shows up on my lockscreen when music is playing from Spotify.
I even logged off from Spotify and on again like some people suggested in another forum. Didn't change anything.
However I noticed the stock music app makes fullscreen controls appear on the lockscreen (but I won't use that app).
Any further suggestions?

Actually yeah, one more suggestion. If you changed your lockscreen theme to anything other than the default one, change it back to default. For some reason notifications and everything that's supposed to be on the lockscreen is banned in custom themes. No clue what's wrong if it isn't this.

Thanks for this suggestion, too.
I already thought this might be a problem and changed it beforehand.
So now after I made all these changes:
Lockscreen design to default
Disabling Face Unlock
Enabling the rights for Spotify to send Lockscreen messages
Enabling all possible rights for Spotify basically
A notification for currently playing Spotify tracks shows up quite randomly.
I assume it needs some time to show up. It doesn't show immediately after I play music and lock the phone.
If turn on the screen like 3 minutes later, it's there sometimes.
Now it would be awesome if it showed up in fullscreen mode on the lockscreen (like the huawei music player does) and show up immediately.
