I haven't rooted and I could download and apply the OTA fine, so it would appear that rooting prevents OTA!

Hi,
I have 3 Honor 5x phones in my house. One of them has got the B370 and B381 updates OTA, the other two phones don't get any update OTA after B360. I know the new updates have newer security patches so I really wanted to have them on the other two phones as well. I don't know whats going on and I can't really understand why those two phones won't see the updates. I can spot one difference between the phones, the phone that got the update has custom version CUSTC675D003, the other two phones have custom version CUSTC675D002. Infact one of the phones with custom ver 002 has been just purchased but shows no update after B360.
I spoke to the customer care guys via online chat and they said that the new phone will see the update after 15 - 20 days of updating to B360 which I highly doubt. Regarding the old phone that does not get the update, they said they will forward the complaint to tech support and they will fix the issue. It's been 4-5 days and the old phone still has no notifications for the new update.
Request someone to please throw some light on the issue....

Have already tried that, problem is that I see the B370 update listed in the app but when I click on it, an error pops up saying "the file seems to have been removed from the server" so can't download the update from firmware finder as well.
I also have the same problem. (I have B360 version & My custom version is CUSTC675D002..) When tried via Firmware finder, i got same "the file seems to have been removed from the server". Any suggestions.?

Download from where? The B370 update is not available for download on Honor's website because its not an OS update. Firmware finder says the update file has been removed from the server
Let me check if there is any link. These updates rollout in rolling manner and varies for every user, some get on 1st day and few after 2 months

Would be really great. I think I found the link to download B370 update and it seems apt for my phone. It has a number in the name of the extracted folder (67983). It matches to the number found next to the B370 shown by firmware finder for my phone. But, I am not installing it yet because I would need B381 as well because I think there were some issues in B370 which were addressed in B381 and I am damn sure the phone will not show notifications for B381 by itself and it will have to be manually done again.
I had an honor 4c which didn't show any update in 2 years and Huawei's customer care had no answer for it. I had to manually hunt for each update to bring it to lollipop and then to marshmallow from kitkat. So, I think I would definitely need B381 as well.
I am also a bit hesitant to update the phones manually because from the looks of it, it seems custom version D001 and D003 phones have got the updates OTA. The problem is with D002 only and I fear these manual updates might break something that's why Huawei is not seeding them to D002. The old 5x was updated to B360 around 2-3 months back and still haven't shown notification for B370.
It would be great if you could find a link to B381 instead of B370 and then I can try manually. Huawei's updates are like a difficult puzzle. I think I'll stay away from Huawei and Honor in the future.

Well, that is a firmware of a slightly different model of honor 5x that you are looking at. Mine is the Indian variant with build number KIW-L22C675B360 and custom version CUSTC675D002. The new firmware build file should have the name as L22C675B370CUSTC675D002....something like that

Hi All,
I'm having a bit of an issue. I updated from KangVIP 127 to 130, however upon doing so my mobile data is disabled, I reverted back to build 127 and it's still disabled. I tried searching for others with this issue or solutions and was having trouble finding anything of worth.
Entering the mobile network settings menu, immediately boots me back out to the main settings menu. I figure Ill likely have to do a backup and hard reflash, but I was hoping someone else had ideas.
What device? What version is your stock firmware? From what I experienced, KangVIP 130 needs stock firmware B135 for Mate 10 ALP-L29.
To get back to stock, just turn on OTA updates in KangVIP, connect to wifi, then download latest full firmware from Firmware Finder that's approved for your IMEI.

Using the OTA will revert you back to stock so root is gone but bootloader will stay unlocked.
Huawei already announce that my location can receive android 9.0 but i have been waiting 3 months without any OTA update notification. Could anyone help to advice what is the root cause?

Huawei has rolled out the pie updates for all variants of the mate 10, so you should have gotten it, you might want to try checking when you are connected via WiFi our using a computer and HiSuite. On my debit only sees updates that way so it might also apply to yours as well.

Connect to WiFi and check an update on Hicare app. Although I used HiSuite as well but the result is nothing.

Huawei has rolled out pie for your variant quite some time ago, all mate 10 devices have been updated already with the exception of those that unlocked and flashed custom ROMs. Since you tried WiFi and HiSuite already right now you really don't have many options except possibly contacting customer service and see if they can push the update to your phone. The only other way I can think of right off hand is the dload method of updating which I am not really familiar with (you'd have to search for the instructions on that method). Good luck

First thing check for HiCare update in the playstore.
Then go to HiCare>settings>updates
Request for updates.
Some people got updates after changing region mostly to Asia (Malaysia, Singapore etc). So, change region to Europe or any mideastern country, reboot the phone then change to any Asian country and go to HiCare>settings>updates

My Hi care app version is 9.1.5.302 ang I've been changing my device location to Singapore than restart my device but seem it doesn't work.
Check your IMEI
Check your IMEI at Imei.info to make sure that your device is brand new and not a refurbished one, cause your case may be due to a refurbished device.

Have you tried dload with OTG storage?
What about e-recovery? This can be used in conjunction with firmware finder with an "approved for installation" firmware if you're able to change the DNS in your local router.

Hi everyone.
My euro gdpr gt2 pro OTA updated to version .21 the other day but I'm now having connection issues. They all started after that update. Is there anyway to downgrade to .19?
You can use the A.14 package to downgrade, and then install the A.19 OTA:
[Global/EU] Collection of firmware files
Since a lot of people is asking for firmware files, OTAs, boot.img, I decided to collect all the resources here, so that it would be easier to get what you need. First of all, you have to identify your ROM version. It is not the scope of this...

I am on A.21 and the WiFi keeps disconnecting randomly, it all started with the A.20 firmware for the MEA Region.

Worked a treat thank you... Phone is now working again. But wouldn't let me update manually update to 19 as it had found OTA .21 on its own.

Yes, you have to disable the Internet connection and clear data for the Software Update app to manually install an OTA file, otherwise it will find the latest version online.
