I've tried a few of these, and they do work well. These USSD can be Google'd to find out what they do.

Well, unfortunately there's a rule saying posts must be in English - but I guess that doesn't apply to screenshots.
Basically, if this was all typed here in the same way, it would be against the rules
Edit - yeah, looks like it doesn't apply to screenshots - though since that's where the information is, it should.....
We understand that with all the different nationalities, not everyone speaks English well, but please try. If you're really unable to post in English, use an online translator. You're free to include your original message in your own language, below the English translation. (This rule covers your posts, profile entries and signature)

How is that being condescending? The screenshot is in a different language. I assume you know how to use Google.
The original poster did us a good favor in providing the useful information. It would be unfair to ask to translate all that to english if the contents of the screenshot isn't in his/her native language.
Anyone care to translate?

*#2263# takes me to service mode where I can select bands. In the *#0011# menu I did do as another member said to go menu>back menu>back menu>key input the Q0000. It didn't do as he say but 2263 gave error before doing that. Dunno if that unlocked it..idk

I have a tmobile phone. Don't know if other carriers block the settings. One post somewhere I read that they had to sim unlock their phone with a number from service provider and enter that with another code to access hidden menus.

There used to be a servicemode string (*#2683662#) that would let you change LTE bands, mess with 4x4 MIMO and 256QAM as well, but has been disabled since before the Note 8 was released. It was available briefly on the S8 with early builds but was patched ever since.

Since VZW and Samsung Level 2 support didn't know the answer, here is how to enable the hidden menus on the dialer screen for the Verizon GS4. Previously, there was a 'master' code that enabled the hidden menus. Now it is a filesystem based check. Boo!
Due to editing /system/build.prop and /efs/carrier/HiddenMenu you MUST be rooted. Also, you must be on a stock TouchWiz-based ROM. This will not work on CM builds/etc. At a very minimum, hiddenmenu.apk must be present on your stock device for this to work, but possibly others, so beware of ROMs that remove 'bloat' APKs.
1) Add the following line* to /system/build.prop
Code:
sys.hiddenmenu.enable=1
Edit: I noticed that after I hosed build.prop, it was replaced when I loaded the default system image, so in fact, step 1 above is not necessary, at least for the Verizon variant. This means that once you do step #2 below, the changes made to /efs/carrier/HiddenMenu will persist after an Odin restore of the NoWipe Factory Image posted here. What this means is that root is only required to make the modification, and one could revert to stock afterwards with the hidden menus enabled.
2) Change the contents of /efs/carrier/HiddenMenu from OFF to ON
3) Reboot.
4) Try it out! Go to the phone dialer and enter *#06# (show MEID) as a test.
For more codes that worked on the S3 that (may) also work on the S4, see below:
http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...unlocking-jelly-bean-service-modes-found.html
Having the hidden menus enabled is particularly useful for those who want to disable WiFi Power Saving mode -- I was having issues with an access point at work, but sadly disabling it didn't fix the problem. Otherwise, the hidden menus are useful to test your sensors/display/etc or just looking around in general. Enjoy!
For those that are NOT rooted, there is an alternative to get to SOME of these menus, but it is not a free app (currently $1.99). It's called "Sammy S Mode". Note that I am not affiliated with the developer, I just bought it to test if the menus were present before I dug deeper into finding out how to fully enable the hidden menus on my Verizon Galaxy S4. When I have time in the next day or so, I'll try to figure out how the app calls the menus, and update the post if I find a free solution for those that are not rooted.
---
* Note: I added the "sys.hiddenmenu.enable=1" line right after the "persist.cne.feature=0" one, but I don't think it matters where you add it. Just be careful editing this file. I managed to get my phone boot-looping, probably because I used notepad to edit the file and it added Windows CR/LFs to it, and had to use the NoWipe Factory Image posted here to restore my phone. The second time around I used Root Explorer's built in text editor and it worked fine.
In case anyone is curious how I figured this out, click here.
Mods: Thanks for moving this to the development section since it fits better here.
---
I wanted to compile a list of the ones that seem useful or new in general and working for me:
*#197328640# Service Mode
*#0228# BatteryStatus
*#0*# Screen/Sensor/Vibration/Touch/Speaker/LED/etc testing -- even gives out raw values for light sensor, barometer, etc in real time
*#2263 RF Band Selection
*#66336 MDM Randump Mode (defaults to OFF)
Thanks OP! Confirmed to be working on my Verizon S4. Followed your guide with the same placement in build.prop and using root explorer.
Thanks, worked great! :thumbup:

If you were talking about the menu on the S3 that opened "HiddenMenuWifiOffload" dialing *#6335623#, this does not work on my S4. In fact, it stopped working after a software update on the S3. There is a temporary solution that is lost on reboot. I tried it and it works for me. See link below:
http://androidcommunity.com/how-to-...i-notification-on-verizon-galaxy-s-4-20130527
For anyone that needs to get to a service menu without being rooted, here is the basic idea. You'll have to get a launcher or shortcut app that supports creating shortcuts to activities.
Code:
Intent localIntent1 = new Intent("android.intent.action.MAIN");
localIntent1.putExtra("keyString", "0011");
localIntent1.setClassName("com.sec.android.RilServiceModeApp", "com.sec.android.RilServiceModeApp.ServiceModeApp");
startActivity(localIntent1);
I'll expand later using a free app that supports doing that when I get it to work on my end. In the meantime, here's a very simple app that can serve as a template to place the values above:
http://viralpatel.net/blogs/android-install-uninstall-shortcut-example/
Edit 1: A free app can be used to create the shortcut. It is called Manual Intent Shortcuts.

I should note that this only works if you're running a stock ROM. If you're running CM or some other non-TouchWiz ROM or missing hiddenmenu.apk this won't work. I have added this to the OP.

The only thing I can think of is perhaps there is a space in the /efs/carrier/HiddenMenu file that is failing the code check. It is an exact match:
Code:
if (new File(this.HIDDENMENU_ENABLE_PATH).exists())
try
{
String str = read(this.HIDDENMENU_ENABLE_PATH);
if (str.equals("ON"))
return true;
You can also issue the command when USB debugging is set/connected to PC:
Code:
adb shell getprop sys.hiddenmenu.enable
or
Code:
getprop sys.hiddenmenu.enable
from a terminal emulator app on your phone to verify that the property is set correctly. Either command should return the value input -- 1 in this case.
I'll see if I make a recovery flashable update.zip to make it easier for everyone.

Mine says the same and no 4g issues here either. If you have another phone handy that you can swap sims, that would be one way to test. *#2263 has band preference settings, but I haven't touched mine and don't plan to just in case, want to avoid resetting to stock and re-rooting/going back to recovery if the phone doesn't like some setting I picked there.

LockDown - XPOSED
LockDown is a security module for Xposed.
It allows you to add multiple PINs to unlock your phone. Every PIN is a profile and you can restrict certain apps from launching when using a certain profile. You can even choose to hide the apps from the drawer completely so the user will not know if they are locked out.
There is a free version for testing before you purchase the full module. Please verify it works before making a purchase.
Features
Add PINs that can unlock your device
Lock apps from launching depending on PIN entered
Hide apps from the phone completely while profile is active
Compatibility
Works with most ROMs that are similar to AOSP. Will NOT work with the following:
Heavily modified ROMs
Any lockscreen with quick unlock enabled
Troubleshooting
How do I launch the app?
To launch Lock Down for the first time call *#*#54321 from your phone app. This is the default launch key. It is recommended you change this key after opening Lock Down.
Dialing the PIN won't launch the app
Make sure you have a PIN set in your system settings already. LockDown can only be launched when the phone has been unlocked via the system PIN.
Reinstall the module and reboot your phone.
If you are still unable to launch the app please post your xposed log and a detailed summary of exactly what you did to try to launch the app.
The free version works but the paid version does not.
This is due to Android putting paid apps in /mnt/asec/ instead of /data/app/ where xposed can properly load them. Until there is an official fix for this you can install XMOD which will move apps from /mnt/asec/ to /data/app/. To use it, simply install the XMOD and then install LockDown. XMOD can be removed after LockDown has been installed.

I plan on adding Gingerbread support soon. Only reason that it is not in this release is because I don't know where xposed for GB currently stands. If it is stable enough I will gladly add support for it!
Now just to get a phone that runs GB.....
Any ideas for troubleshooting other than the ones you have listed on the play store page? I made sure all my lockscreen settings were back to default and rebooted but dialing *12345 just takes me to voicemail still.

That is very strange. I have tested it myself on a Nexus 4 running KitKat and it works. Try this:
1. Disable all xposed modules including lockdown
2. Make sure you have a PIN set via system settings
3. Restart phone
4. Enable lockdown
5. Restart phone
6. Unlock phone using the PIN you set in the system settings
7. Dial *#*#54321 and call it

Thanks for this MOD and especially for integrating Tasker support. I imagine it would be even more awesome to set different PINs/profiles based on the particular WiFi that the phone is connected to by MAC address

Can you please make the app accessible by a normal icon? The dialer doesn't seem to be working for me... im on SlimKat 3.0 gs3 VZW. I could see that you made it accessible through the dialer so another user can't change the settings but we can always just restrict the lockdown app from opening in a profile if it is accessible by a normal icon

Disclaimer ::::
Please do not go trying these codes unless you are aware you are risking your phone! If you punch in a code and change some settings with no idea what your doing that is not my fault! If you don't have a recent backup of your system/efs/boot don't even start punching these in!!!! I am not responsible for YOUR fingers on YOUR phone! Don't PM if you screw something up, post in this thread as I have no idea what you did!
Hey guys while messing around with a possible region unlock per another thread I came across a great method to find our secret codes. Most of these are NOT listed in any of the other threads I searched for though some are sporadically. I have yet to try them all, just found them last night and until 5 minutes ago my internet has been out and if you have read my post you've noticed I live off wifi calling at my house. That means I got no network found trying all these codes last night. I will update this thread as people test these as to what they are as this may come in handy for all s5 carrier phones.
Here are a list and I will be adding many more! All codes are punched in the usual method beginning with #* and ending with *# (though some may end with just # but I think they work both ways not sure on that, cant get that info the way I got the codes)

Xposed module which automatically selects SIM card when you make new call. Works with all dialers which use standart API.
Features
Module uses text filters to determine a right SIM card for outgoing call.
You can use +, 0-9 digits and next sequences:
Brackets with char sequences inside splitted by commas. For example, (63,73,93) will match numbers with all specefied sequences.
Sharp(#) char will mach any char
For example, if you need to call from desired SIM to numbers with operator codes 63,73,93 and your country code is +380 you have to add a rule like:
+380(63,73,93)#######
In case you do not store your phone numbers with country codes you can use rule like
(+380,380,80,0)(63,73,93)#######
It will match both numbers with country code ahead and phone numbers without them:
063xxxxxxx
8063xxxxxxx

It's strange. What firmware/phone do you use?
Can you check adb logs during installation?
Is there any way to manually override it just before we are about to make the call, but without going into the module itself?
No, only in GUI. Did you mean something like tile or widget?
The that you dial would be the best idea. Like one of those secret codes that allow us to enter Cerberus.
A tile would be the second best option. Widgets are...meh

Hi. What Android version do you use?
May I ask to add the feature to select the SIM card based on the group to which the contact is assigned? That would be awesome.

Right, it is built only for MM.
In previos Android version required API is different a bit, so it will not work anyway.
Please let me know if you really-really want it, i can add LP support
Thanks a lot. And yes, LP support would be great as my phone is not yet supported by CM 13.

Yes please for LP [emoji106]
Thank you for this OP, I had hopes something that worked relatively cleanly with the native dialer would show up eventually for us dual sim users haha. Always thought CM might implement some basic automated functionality someday, but alas they never did.
I have to ask, would it be feasible to implement auto switching based on the contact label as opposed to its number alongside formatting the number before calling? Mine are indistinguishable from number alone, and as it happens there's an app in my country which changes the number label to its respective carrier name, yet my stupid main carrier requires me to dial in its specific carrier code before the number or it just plain refuses to call, so it's tipically a choice between editing all numbers to have it and manually editing before using the other one or just putting none and having to edit every time. Selfish, I know, but it'd help immensely and I'd wager there are similiarly ****ty carriers out there.
Please add LP support, it will be great
@Vavooon: Did you make any progress? If you need a tester, please don't hesitate to contact me.
@meiser I recentrly bought a WIleyfox Swift and it supports only CM12 too. So be sure that i will add LP support when it arrives
@lpchaim Sorry, i understand only simple sentenses in English Couldn't you show me some examples?

Can you please give me your provider/cerrier name? (ike T-mobile at&t etc). = I will check it with your provider this issue.
This problem caused by providers, in some of providers/cerrier they block the option to hide caller id and you need to call them to unblock this option.
can any one please upload it here. thanks.
