Thank you for your answer. I sent an email to customer service, and they sent me a public account number and password and with that I was able to sign in. The only thing is that you have to be very careful to don't put any personal information into to the VivoCloud because that is a public account. But at least I can install third party APK now.

I would also like for a custom or a stock ROM of this phone, Vivo X21 Plus. Was able to unlock bootloader, but there are too many mal-ware apps that can't be disabled by normal means and i'm sick of all the ads and apps that are auto-installed (assume through iogs or FotaProvider) and need to be purged. Was able to disallow most system apps from doing much, but the mal-ware apps keep showing up from time to time and like to revert background to original wallpaper background, which is VERY annoying!
Any help or pointing towards a stock ROM would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance,

Hi everyone
A lot of Chinese (non licensed) phones won't allow paid apps to be downloaded from the android market. On the other hand, I DO have a Chinese "no name" phone that downloads everything, including paid apps.
I'm trying to find out where all the information is located how the android market identifies the android device and either allows to download paid apps or denies it
My first guess of course was the build.prob, my friend copied the build.prob from my (paid apps download working) phone to his paid apps non working phone, NO SUCCESS, he still can't download any paid apps with my build.prob.
So, I'm guess there have to be other files(?) that also play a role on how a phone is recognized by the market?
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Excuse me?
Of course I am trying to download paid apps from the official market, where else would I download paid apps?
And what you do mean by cheating? I don't want to cheat anyone, all I want is to fix a phone so I can buy apps from the OFFICIAL android market with that phone as well
Edit: Maybe I should keep it simpler? Here's the situation:
The official android market lets me buy apps when I am using my Chinese Phone A
When I try to buy apps with my Chinese Phone B, the download won't work, I can only download free apps.
What I want is to be able to buy apps with phone B as well. Nothing illegal, I just want to give Google some of my money

The main problem is that google doesnt allow China based phones to do this. There are reasons for this. It could also be that the phone tells the market where you are based on location.

That's what I'm trying to bring out. Because it is non licences phone, it won't allow you to do so. Even it is open source, phone maker still need to buy the license (Android 2.3 and above, the higher the os is, The more expensive it is. 2.2 and below is free ) from Google.
You can try using amazon if you want to burn some cash.

Like I wrote before, I DO have a Chinese phone that is definitely not licensed ( a Xperia Arc S clone) and that phone lets be me buy my apps
When I check all my devices on my pc when I login to the market, it is listed as "unknown" but still I can download any paid app I want to.
So, somehow this phone is identified as "o.k.", while other Chineses phones are not.
I'm just trying to find out what file(s) on the phone is responsibe for that, it can't just be the build.prob, I don't know this but I have the feeling the information must also be somewhere else?
Also, it can't be a valid or invalid IMEI because the same problem exists with some tablets pcs. Some are able to download paid apps, some are not and none of the have a GSM unit build in and there no IMEIs present.
That's why I was asking here, I was hoping somebody might know more about how the android market identifies a device

You really think so? That's the last place I would have guessed.
Here you go:
http://chinamobiles.org/downloads/zap/appx18i.zip
Let us know if you find anything
You could try this solution:
http://www.slatedroid.com/wiki/index.php/Fix_Market_For_Slates#Get_AndroidID_From_A_Phone
Essentially it involves finding the androidID on your phone (or emulator) where the market works using
Code:
adb shell sqlite3 /data/data/com.google.android.googleapps/databases/gls.db "select * from meta";
and then copying that to the phone where the market doesn't work using
Code:
adb shell sqlite3 /data/data/com.google.android.googleapps/databases/gls.db "update meta set intvalue='idnumber_from_above' where name='androidId'";
It's not a ROM fix but at least it might help some people.

Might have to do with this:
In Android Market Jenga Goto News Tab --> in "What new in this version":
"CHAT"
"Send a text message to your opponent with each move in an Online game"
Fair enough, i would just use the internet, not sure my what partner would need my phone number. Plenty of games use the internet without needing to know who im currently phoning, i think I'll leave this one!

Android apps that have silly requests for permissions is the worst aspect of Android.
I rooted and installed lbe security which allows me to block some permissions after the install.and asks with a pop up for requests at other times.
You have reason to be suspicious.
Good reason.
But most of it is just collected and used to better advertise to you.

I agree,
you have to be suspicious.
Even better than LBE (and the best if combined) is CyanogenMod with the possibility to block ALL the permissions (have to consider which you block btw => FC's)
But games want to know your phone status to be able to pause when a call is coming in, I guess... Not sure though.

just root your phone and download denied permissions
How is an app that has automated settings for denied permissions going to help ME understand wich permissions i can block.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
The same goes with me...
You can block anything that a phone may not support (any developer that makes an app that crashes because you have no internet should not bee installed)
I remove everything I don't like (which is everything) and bring back what I'm willing to allow if it FC's.
Google needs to have developers give full reasons for required permissions.some developers already do that, they are the ones I support.other I email to ask and i am fully willing to rate badly if no response.
Some one should start a Android full disclosure group to work together to get the info every one wants.
And get start up control (or something like that) you would not believe how many apps fire up when you get a text or change your network connectivity.
If any one knows of a Android security website or forum post it here.I have not found one worth reading.
You suggestion seems like it could benifit loads of people. It seems like you already have a good grasp what 2 ask the developers for. Maybe you can make up an format for me and others who are willing to email devs to get some awnsers.

I've had my i9100 for 5 months and just rooted last month. Before that I was on windows mobile, after10 years using a wm phone I bailed on ms forever because of all the unacceptable "features"of windows phone. I believe in security and being anonymous as possible to big corporate interests.Android being open source was my only choice as apple is closed and militant about it, even more so than Ms. (and imagine my horror to see all the permissions on my phone)
But to be honest I know much more about what I don't like than I know how to fix it.
I do know that Google makes more money from advertising and knowing the actions and preferences of its users than any other company in history.the app developers make as much money or more from advertising than from selling their apps.and in sure some make money by learning what you like and don't.
And almost none of them will abandon that source of cash.
When ics is out and ready for my device I will go to cm9ics and it's security options built in the kernel.
I hope some one builds a locked down Android that randomly fakes all the privacy questionable permissions so all apps work.but I don't think that will ever happen. None of the big movers in the phone market want that.
As for finding out why a developer asks for a permission just mail them and ask.if you don't like the answer uninstall and rate it why you removed it.
some times permissions are there for options that you may love like your keyboard needing your contact list so it can spell your friends names. But is there really a reason for that keyboard to have internet access?
Carrier IQ brought into the open just what your phone might do with it you knowing.sadly most phones don't need an extra app to monitor your every move.
Don't even get me started on the"cloud" and all the bad things it represents.
as I learn more I'll share more but right now I feel like a very big man in a very small boat fishing for information in a very big sea.
Good luck out there
I totally understand your feelings. And agree on most of it. I wrote an essay about digital privacy a few years back. The thing is i know my every digital move is being monitered and stored. I think your best option is to build a cutom rom .. maybe 1 wich feed the apps with bogus information. That way you can get the apps you like help the developers get random data/ advertising revenue and stay anonimous.

Hi all. I've been following XDA for a long time. But since i am more into the hardware i need some help with the software.
I ordered a Bedove I5 from Uredeal.com . And i am not sure if the chinese have put some code in it which make all the things that goes over the internet is send trought there servers.
Whenever i open a chat (whatsapp, fb messenger etc.) and send something. It has a time stamp of 6 hours later. And messages i receive have a normal time stamp. This also happens with multiplayer games like wordfeud. an active game says for 6 hours long that its 0 seconds ago i made a move. and after 6 hours its going to count. I even got an email from google that someone in china tried to login to my account but they blocked it. I want to use my mobile also for mobile banking but with this in my mind its just not save and i dont want to take the risk.
If i manage to make a back-up from my rom, can someone take a look at it and if possible fix it for me (clean up my rom)?
I thank the person(s) that are willing to help me in advanced.
If someone knows a link to a clean rom for my device. Feel free to post.
Edit: I couldnt find one by myself.
Sent from my I5 using xda app-developers app
IMO, its more likely a poorly written ROM than spying going on. Either way I'd steer away from Chinese imports. It's not worth it. Spend a bit more for a real phone.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
How can you comfirm that? It can be both ways. But since i use this phone people out of china try to get on my gmail acc. So by this i think your argument false.
And the quality of chinese phones are getting higher and higher. I have totally no negative points about the phone. Its a good product. It doesnt even freeze which i see at most smartphone models. Everything workes good as it should be. No wifi or connectivity problems.
Ill try to root it and make a backup so people can look at it. And confirm if its a bad rom or spying. My feeling says spying.
There are some apps on it with the title in chinese. Cant delete them without root and dont know if they contain system information or the information they send everyting to...

I managed to make a back-up with mtkdroidtools. The funny thing is. When i finished the back-up. I saw a function in mtkdroidtools named "remove china". I tried that button with the temp root. and it removed all the chinese apps that where in the root of the phone and that the time and everything else is ok now.
I cant place the link to the back-up since i got less then 10 posts. I can private message it to someone who can post the link to here.

Hi
I'm a few days away from my OGWhatsapp app expiring and am desperate to find an alternative as I travel constantly between countries and having two active whatsapp accounts on my phone is an invaluable part of my life.
I've stumbled across some alternatives from this site:
http://faresandroid.blogspot.com.es/2015/01/4.html
Namely, i'm looking at ENWhatsapp and SAWhatsapp. I'm wondering whether these apks are ok as I fear installing any sort of malware or SMS trojan on my Samsung S4 Mini Duos i9192.
Many thanks
I use this one and think it is perfect, no isues in months. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2339647
Thanks. Does it notify you of received messages from both accounts instantly or do you need to switch between accounts to pick up the messages?
Use this xxwhatsapp
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bwqhldcwrdx350w/xxWhatsApp1.15-1.apk?dl=0
It's base on Ogwhatsapp mode last version. But it's still working. It's modified in order to not to be detected by the expiration of the 472 whatsapp server base.
Thanks MuD-GMZ. That seems to work well. Only thing is that I have to switch between the two accounts manually to see if i've received messages. A little bit annoying.
ppsa, is xxWhatsapp safe? I get the same pre-installation access warnings as SAWhatsapp and ENWhatsapp. What particularly worries me is the access the app has to sending and receiving SMS's (see attached screenshot). Not sure this if this normal though considering that I guess the app needs a whatsapp verification code via sms to activate it.
What do you think?
Many thanks!

Exactly. That's why I want to know if any of the other unofficial whatsapps are safe so that i can have two whatsapps active at the same time
In the end I tried ENWhatsapp + other variants and none of them seem to work. I get an error during the installation process that oddly states that '"the app expired on May 18th 2060"!!
I am, though, using a Playstore app called Disa Beta:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.disa&hl=en
It has a strange UI but it allows me to do exactly what I was looking for: have 2 whatsapp accounts simultaneously active on my dual sim phone.
I've used it, but it's not as friendly to use
It works again? Thanks.

It is an xposed module capable of spoofing some of the identities of an Android device.
Customise the identities to your own choices!
Download Free version : http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.intplus.freehijack
Download Premium version : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.intplus.hijackid
https://youtu.be/8k9OgoB0Ay8
Below are the supported identities :
- Android Id
- Serial Number
- IMEI
- MAC address
- Device build number
- Kernel version string
Another interesting option available is, ability to randomize the identity for different processes.
It just hijacks the identities on the fly. Hence the original valules are not modified.
Once the app is disabled, get back all the original ids.
How to use!
You need to have an android device which is rooted and has Xposed framework installed.
Open Hijack Suite and enter custom values for the identities.
Press save.
Goto Xposed installer app.
Enable 'Hijack suite'
Reboot the device.
View the customized values being replaced at places where they are tried to fetch.(Check using different apps.)
Observe the behaviour of the app under test by changing the id values.

Hi Antieco,
Checked these 2 apps. They are wonderful apps for personal privacy management.
I just imagined Hijack Suite as a security testing tool and developed it.
Concentrated on spoofing the device identities to apps instead of preventing access to them.
Yes, it can be treated like xprivacy or PMP.
But when you approach mine as a privacy tool, I think xprivacy and PMP are doing much better.
Also they have a lot of other features.

It sounds like a good feature, I should add.
As of now, you can revert back to original identities by disabling this module within xposed installer app.
Note : You will need a reboot once, after the module is disabled.
I could have really used this module last year for a little project I did. I wound up decompling an APK to do what I wanted. I'd suggest adding phone number as another ID value. Would be very valuable in my opinion.

A short question:
When you go to Turkey and use a Turkish SIM card, your phone will be blocked after 6 or 7 weeks. They do that so that you can't import phones.
Only way to use it again is to activate the IMEI somewhere, but you need a Turkish passport and pay money to do so.
Since I'm often going to Turkey I always have to search for other smartphone (taking one from my family or friends).
May it be possible that they can't block the phone when using the app? Or is it only useful for installed apps?
I have a very old Nokia phone which is active, I may be able to use the IMEI of it.

Hi,
It will spoof the IMEI number to other apps only or the programs that take OS help to get the identity.
