Hi, I need a new phone (mi Huawei G8 is about to die), but I'm undecided if I should buy the P20 Lite or the Samsung A8. A8 is $458.90, P20 Lite is $287.69 in my country, in the cheappey store. Most other stores add anywhere from $100-$200 to those prices). What would you recommend? (S8 is still $591.27 here, in case you would suggest its price is close to A8 ) Besides, we don't get Oppo, Honor, or other brands like that, again, just in case someone would recommendate one of those). Thanks!!!

I emailed huawei about this version, asked about release date and specs, got this answer :

If they remove the cellular capabilities and MicroSD card slot then there's no use for this device.
Here's hoping that isn't the case.
I hope huawei mediapad 7 lite gets official JB as the default, so this gives the advantage to mediapad current user

Lite indeed. Uses Cortex A8 instead of A9.
Only plus would be lighter, cheaper.
Seems also the specs of the MP 10 FHD is different to the information in the press before:
no microSD
1 GB RAM

I think our mediapad is still one of the best tablet out there.. It's much better than any of galaxy tab.. (except for 7.7) it's really pitty if huawei doesn't give update for JB...

Absolutely agree with you. Huawei doesn't know how to market the Mediapad effectively. I guess they are still more focused on selling carrier big-iron items.
i hope they wont cancel MediaPad "Full" support, and only sell and update the Lite...
is cpu cortex-a8?
i see some test, where snapdragon s3, our msm8260 beats cortex a8 cpu at most near 2.5 times by results
So much of a downgrade not even worth it.

The Huawei Ascend Mate will be coming with Huawei's own propriety quad core processor. Will that make porting Android 5.0 KLP in June any difficult? Generally speaking, are Huawei phones hack-friendly (e.g. unlocked bootloader, easily rooted....etc), or should I avoid them?
Currently, it's the only option for someone looking to replace his phone+tablet with an Android with reliable battery life (4050mAh battery, thank you very much) and space (microSD expansion).

You do not want to do business with this company. Price constantly changes. Go to their Facebook website and it will say $219. If you go to website, it says $269. If you go to an official store, it will be even more and their discount coupon won't be honored. The specs change, that 20 mp camera is now 13 mp, the release dates change. The US version was initially supposed to come out end of Jan.; now it won't be available till mid-April. I personally do not know what to expect from these folks. They don't answer emails or Skype calls and that is the only way you can get ahold of them. Do not waste your money or time with these people.
I got the 219$ from Gearbest after a while. (It's the elecode black version withnout power adaptoir)
Not sure about the shipping date. Mid April should be for all color variants and Lite version. The black P9000 should ship sooner for the people with elecode.
Gearbest says shipping on 20th Feb. let's see what happens.
If you're planning to buy any of the new phones Elephone is putting out (or most of the bigger small Chinese OEMs for that matter), prepare to wait at least 1 to 3 months for your phone.

We have android and ios version and I can't post link here because i'm New user, maybe you can seach Cheers shipping in app store.
The phone cover is transparent plastic, We have printer system and a transparent plastic will become a unique case that no one else will have after we print picture that customer provided on it.
