I've got a dual boot tablet that can run Android 5.1 and Windows 10. Both systems are available for download as .RAR files for flashing directly to the device.
I was wondering if there would be a way to convert the flashable Android ROM files to an ISO for installing onto a USB/Micro SD card, much like an Android x86 USB installation?
Alternatively, would it be possible to extract device drivers from the OEM Flashable ROM and add those to an Android x86 ISO?

Hi, I want to execute (then install) an personalized Android ROM on my PC, I tried to change the distribution of Android x86 but the ISO file reconstructed (by Nero) is not read (An error tells me that no files were found for the start) and are not able to open (for modding) the file in SFS inside the original ISO. So I tried modding the files of Windroy Project and the result was more than excellent! (I have modded files of Windroy in C drive) but now I do not know how to make these files "installed" as indipendent OS, it is possible, and if so, how? Thanks for the answers

My problem is not knowing how modding a ROM, but to bring a ROM on PC and open that file type, which requires a separate procedure.
I am looking for ways that i can capture an android rom (.img file) and restore it to other same devices by using Rockchip Batch Tool 1.7
Here is my situation:
We have lot of android devices need to be deployed (MK 902). The original rom was 4.2 and I use Rockchip Batch Tool 1.7 to reload a rooted 4.4.2 img file. then I installed some APPs we needed. I dont want to go through app installation on all devices. So I am looking for a way that i can capture the img file after all APPs installed, then later on i can only use that Rockchip Tool to restore my img into rest of devices, just like Windows image restore.
I did some researches but didnot find any easy way to do so. looks like i have to unpack the image, modify it then repack it again. ....... I dont know how to modify the img file so i am looking for an easy way to do this.
Anyone knows any App or easy way?
If any of you have install Remix OS as a dual boot or in the internal storage then Remix OS can be updated with ease. Please don't delete your data.img file during this process.
1. Copy the new *.iso files in the package and overwrite the older one.
2. Generate the bootable usb drive drive with included usb tool and copy all the content from the usb to your Remix drive. Overwrite files if necessary.
3. Reboot your pc/laptop/tablet to remix os. It will take some time to update.
4. Voila! Remix os has been updated with battery icon and other small fixes.
What about pre-rooted system.img ? I use a rooted remix os and if I use this method, will it affect the system.img?

will require manual re-rooting....by whichever method you acquired?
but...who has a copy of the updated iso?
Hello all,
I'm new to xda forum, so apologies if anything isn't formatted right or if this is in the wrong place.
I'm working with an Android device that uses the Allwinner A64. I've got an image (*.img) file that is from the device manufacturer. Ultimately, my goal is to be able to write a script that flashes the device without having to press any buttons from a Linux computer.
That seems like it should be pretty simple if you have the correct image file.
1. adb reboot bootloader
2. fastboot flashall <image.zip>
Unfortunately, the image that I have from the device manufacturer is in some kind of PhoenixSuit image format. I was able to unpack the file using imgrepacker (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28329544&postcount=1) but it gave me a bunch of *.fex files that I'm not sure what I can do with.
Using this image, I've been able to flash the device using PhoenixSuite on Windows and LiveSuit on Linux, but both of these tools are close sourced (as far as I can tell) so I can't figure out how they are doing it to write my own script.
So my question is:
1. How can I convert the PhoenixSuit image that I have into something that works with flashboot flashall?
2. If thats not possible, how can I script something that will flash on Linux using the image in its current format?
Thanks a ton!
