Root and ROM flashing on the H960YK variant - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I have the H960YK variant of the V10 model, sold in Israel. And unfortunately this one doesn't get the Nougat update for some reason...
I tried to look for guides and tutorials for rooting and flashing roms on my phone but I couldn't tell if those methods or roms would support my phone.
A friend of mine sent me this link for a tutorial but told me to ask here first if this tutorial would work on my phone...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/general/how-to-manually-install-android-7-0-t3624444
So if anyone could tell me if my phone should work with roms for other variants or have another way for me to get nougat on my device, it would be helpful.
Thank you

Can't Find SM-925R7 Stock Firmware Or Custom Rom

I tried flashing several custom roms on my Ntelos S6 Edge but all of them were for other models and I can't seem to find one for the SM-G925R7. They boot up and work perfectly except that they don't detect my SIM card. For some reason I also can't find the right firmware to flash it back to stock. If anyone could point me toward a custom rom that would work, the stock firmware, or anything that could help my problem it would be greatly appreciated. Also if I used any incorrect terminology or anything like that please forgive me as I'm not the most knowledgeable in this sort of thing.
How did you root it? I can't find the solution anywhere.
Try roms for Sprint S6 Edge since your carrier is based on CDMA network.
Any GSM rom you flash will not have correct mobile network settings for CDMA.
I have the entire firmware uploading if you still need
what roms have you tried ?

Ill have a look around for you mate, but to be honest I've never heard or seen any custom roms for g925r4 model.
What i would do if i was you would be to take the phone to a shop and trade it in for a G925F so many roms for this model

Flashing H960 .kdz file H901

As the title says, its it possible to flash H960 international version firmware on H901 T Mobile version? I really don't like carrier variant devices with all their bloatware and some tht can't be disabled.
If it's possible or of anyone has tried it, leave a comment. I would to try that out too but after considering everyone's opinions.
Thanks
Don't try it. To my knowledge, that is a good way to brick your phone for good. Firmwares are strictly dedicated to their hardware device versions.
Just debloat the T-mobile firmware. After rooting of course.

Hi @zohaib anwar, For LG h901, Try radeonmaya v4 on www.lgviet.com. it is really smooth and stable. It is a porting for our h901, the theme is beautiful and looks like G5 and fm radio is working well.

so i dont know your device model. But i would suggest you to install custom recovery like TWRP if you are rooted and also installing new OS is a good idea lineage has relased updates to latest OS 7 nougat so look for it. But be carefull always look for software compatibile with your device unless you want to brick it !!!
and for unlocking to other operators try Hidden menu --- http://mobilespecs.net/phone/codes/LG/LG_G3_BEAT_D722K.html

Fresh start with G925A with 7.0 (root and Rom?)

After giving up on rooting my AT&T phone well over a year ago this week I just found out rooting was available. Right now I am leaving AT&T and going over to T-mobile. I would like to get all the AT&T software off my phone since I will be with T-Mobile.
In searching for rooting ( I have not done it since my HTC One) I see rooting for 5.1 and 6.0. Right now my phone is running 7.0. Can you root with 7.0 running?
When flashing a Rom do I have to find ones that are specific to G925A?
Thanks for any help confirming this. I just do not want to brick this phone. First time I do things like this I want to make sure I have all my information correct.

So your just switching carriers to T-Mobile? And your using the same phone G925A?
It still has a locked bootloader so it's still not rootable. From what I can find you can root 6.0.1 on an older firmware with ENG boot firmware. But not for 7.0.
@ThatAngryGnome
i need G925AUCS7ERC1 7.0 root file

Galaxy S2 branded firmware

Hi, i'm new to this forum and I have a question regarding my old Galaxy S2. The phone is running on Android 2.3.4 (Carrier branded - Swisscom, the logo appears while turning the phone on), SIM unlocked. I was wondering could I install LineageOS or any newer custom rom immediately, or do I need to install different firmware before that? By the way, I'm new when it comes to rooting/custom roms etc, so I'm scared that i might brick it.
Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to XDA.
Please have a look at this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/guide-tutorial-samsung-galaxy-s2-i9100-t3538601
I used this guide a couple of years ago to move from 2.3.6 to 7.1.2. You now have more choice for the Android version, you can update to 7, 8 or 9 if you like. The guide will get you to the point of ROM installation, from there you can use the install instructions for the one you choose.
Good luck, happy flashing and let us know how you go.
