Working ROM for VS996? - LG V30 Questions & Answers

I had a quick question. Where can I find a working stock ROM for the vs996. Everyone I have tried works great, except I don't have the capability to make a call or receive text. I can only make emergency calls.
I'm currently using a AOSP ROM which works great but I would like to use a stock ROM that works.
Does anyone know where I can find one? Or find a fix to this calling issue?
I looked at the forum but couldn't find anything.
Thanks in advance.

He means root stock firmware and stay there, for now. You can flash viper, flash @Whiskeyomega sound mods, still do lots of stuff.

You're not going to get anything out of this. The APK they are talking about is for the Flash Lite that is already installed on our phones. It runs some Flash, but far from everything. These guys install the APK and go test some random flash game site and say it works -- because they picked a site that already worked before they installed. Then others say it doesn't work, because they test on a site not supported by Flash Lite.
If you want full Flash 10, you need to wait until Froyo. That's all there is to it.

So if this is official Tmobile, does it have a working Infrared in AOSP?
I started a proof of concept port about an hour ago. I'm busy with another port but figured why not try it out

As far as I know, the GE doesn't currently support IR. That's only what I've read though. Haven't flashed and tested yet, just made a nand and backed up my apn's through tibu to try to get data working.
So I flashed this and I got a error the I had unauthorized software on my phone and I had to take it to the nearest Verizon store

Sounds like you didn't flash a Loki'd kernel, as advised earlier. Time to Odin, and start over.

you should still be able to get into recovery and flash a kernel.

As Mikey advised, see if you can get into recovery, first, and see if you can flash a kernel, if not, then Odin is always an option.

You are either joking and that is very funny, or you are never permitted to flash anything ever again.
One or the other.
Might want to change the kernel link in the OP to the Verizon version. Flashing the tmo version on our phones doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

Flashing n7105 roms to i605?

I have read this is ok looking for some concrete answer from people who do it.
I believe you flash rom,gapps,kernel,modem?

All the international ROMs I've seen were TW so no need to flash GAPPs. The only issues I've encountered when flashing international TW ROMs is getting a GPS lock but there are fixes. VZW data has always worked for me.

You don't need to flash a kernel, Gapps, or modem. Just flash the International ROM of your choice and you are good to go.
Just a slight warning though, on the latest release of the International ROMs myself, and others have not been able to obtain GPS in any way. Some are lucky enough to have it work but sadly I was not one of them. If you use GPS a lot make sure you check it before you start setting everything up.
Sorry I want clear I meant ROMs for the 7105. International version of the note 2.

Did you flash the modem and kernel? I think you need to do both but people seemed to be tight lipped or its a bad idea.
Yes I did that but no go. I flashed a i605 rom and still no data. I think I messed it up. I am using vramc3 radio and saber kernel. I want miui but there is not a build that works on the Verizon model.
Have you tried avatar ROM? It's some sort of miui. Maybe just themed I'm not sure.

When trying to flash a N7100 rom TWRP recovery will error and not install anything. That's my experience so far, so either the people above are not mentioning something or have no idea what they are talking about...

If you just want stock root and keep the unlocked bootloader and custom recovery, you should be able to flash this in recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261478
If you want to re lock without custom recovery you're going to need help from someone else as I've never done it and wouldn't want to give you the wrong info.

No there not dirty flashing after loading up the GPE ROM. Just confirm everything is working and then make a backup of the GPE in case you ever need to use this " ridiculous fix" again ..... Good luck!

I really have no idea...I saw that someone stumbled on the fix a few months ago and it has worked for everyone since.
Actually I believe there was some theory that vzw is looking for phones running non OEM software (AOSP) and noticing something once the first text is sent. After that they could block the phone from sending more texts. Just a theory though and no idea why going to the GPe ROM and then back to CM would fix it...
