When will the LTE version be available in China? - Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Questions & Answers

Although I already have a LTE tablet (Asus Memopad) and barely use it I'd like to purchase the best version of Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 with this feature. Unfortunately this one is still unavailable in China (where I live) and the MiStore staff doesn't know a clue about when it comes to the store.
Is here anyone who can shed some light on this topic?

I also want the LTE version.. Why? Because the price difference isnt that big and when you need it, it would have it..
Also I would use it in the company to test our android app.
And on many sites you can pre-order the WIFI version but never the LTE.. So my guess would be, that it will need some time :/

Soon, good to know. Can't wait to start testing it.

Is the Lte version a cellular version which we can use for call?
Can't find any info about it...

Somewhere said it's only for data and not for calling, but not sure if it was reliable source.

I understand that, but without the conventional 2g and 3g means impossible for normal phone call except for volte.
Not all country/telco have the function and good coverage.

As someone who has an original 7" Galaxy Tab, I can say that whilst I don't use the voice calls often, I've definitely found it very useful from time to time. I don't see why we should put up with what is essentially an artificial restriction.

Why people keep asking these things is really something
there's a thread that people even willing to pay for US galaxy tab to be able to call with that thing
there's some people who prefer all in one device instead of bringing 1 tablet and 1 phone separately, especially with bluetooth device so common now
I'm thinking of changing my tab to flyer when i learned that flyer can make calls, but after hearing this, i'm glad i bought my tab much earlier ^^
i have my galaxy tab, and as long as HTC wont make calls am sticking to my galaxy tab, i don't know if HTC think they can go head to head with ipad and think they will have the upper hand, am HTC loyal but of course if ipad and flyer are booth useless "feature wise" then i will go to ipad
I found this thread to be very amusing. The Flyer is a Tablet, if you want to make calles then use your phone. To my knowledge none of the tablets that are even equipped with cellular data make phone calls. Not even the ipad makes phone calls.
The old HTC Advantage which is more a netbook did make phone calls. However you had to use a headset

Yes, I have to agree here. I don't need my tablet to be a phone. In a pinch, I can make a call via Skype. A tablet will never make me shed the convenience of a smartphone.

I have been using it for months. Not aware of how to use wifi calling, so can't answer that question. Recently having issues with device lag quite a bit, not sure why. But not aware of any issues directly related to T-Mobile. Not sure if this helps or not.
Not recommended. WiFi calling does not work, but the bigger issue is that Band 12 is disabled with this handset on T-Mobile, so you don't get access to most of the new towers that T-Mobile has put up over the last few years. Huawei has released updates in other regions to add VoLTE functionality in, which would enable Band 12 in the US, but the update has yet to reach the L24 model that's sold here. Maybe spring for a OnePlus 3 or see what else is new out there.

If your here representing Honor and you don't even know the limitations of the device why post at all ?

Yes, and Secure Wi-Fi has now been added. I think it previously existed only on the European firmwares. Now we get it, too.
Any way to see if AT&T Wifi Calling will work as I do not see the option in Settings? I have US Unlocked GS9 on AT&T
If I flash this U1 for my ATT phone (running full Tmobile firmware now),
will I have Wifi calling with Tmobile? Or Wifi calling only works with Verizon with U1

Despite what the websites like to post, there really isn't a VZW U1 and an ATT U1. There's just XAA U1. You'll get Wi-Fi Calling on every carrier with it now, except for ATT.

Reading up on it (short summary) this is because AT&T uses a database of IMEI numbers to provision WiFi calling and VoLTE. Since our IMEI numbers from our phones are not in that database we won't be able to use WiFi calling or VoLTE.
Makes sense but is ridiculous for AT&T to restrict it. Has anyone ever called to ask to have thier Unlocked IMEI added to this "list" so that these features will work? Seems like it is a disadvantage for AT&T if it works for TMo and now Verizon but not AT&T...?
Just curious...

It's odd for sure. Verizon has always had VoLTE on unlocked too. At least since the S7. Probably before that. ATT has never felt the need to change the policy.

Who can say if it's disadvantageous or not, for all we know it might be the technology differences between the networks. Also it does make sense... having specific IMEI numbers known to connect to carrier specific services like wifi calling and VoLTE ensures that everything works. It doesn't make it convenient for us and I will admit it would be nice to have the features.. but for calling via wifi there are options.
Personally I use pbx in a flash and bria softphone. With the right VoIP provider it's a good setup and doesn't break the bank at all. I haven't even spent more then 5 bucks maybe in a month. For me this is better then wifi calling and I don't have any problems.
As for adding our IMEI to that database I tried inquiring about it, but I do recall reading where some people may have had luck in doing this. I suspect it may require a bit of luck and/or perserveriance after my last discussion with AT&T customer service.
I explained the situation and what needed to be done while being placed on hold a few times. As the call continued I tried to be patient with the person I spoke too, but I admit it is not easy when he is saying that just because I see H data speed that it's actually VoLTE. When I mentioned the speed test and how it was H data speed (and that H data speeds are not VoLTE) he was saying that H data speeds were like blazing fast compared to LTE..
I had to politely finish the call before I either started to laugh or feel sorry for that rep.

In my case I tried to be patient with the person I spoke too. After waiting on hold a few times the representative tried to say everything was normal.. and then proceeded but to say that just because I see H+ speed that it's actually VoLTE. The only thing I've seen some people do successfully to get VoLTE working on an unbranded unlocked device is to have AT&T provision a SIM card to an IMEI of a phone that is AT&T branded and capable of VoLTE. Then use that SIM card on the unbranded unlocked device.

Hd voice always worked on unlocked for Verizon. Wifi calling is found in the phone app's settings.

No problem. You're not the first person to look for it in the wrong place. U1 builds always place the setting there. So they stayed consistent doing it this way.

Question AT&T phone calls

I have At&t and just got the Oppo Find N, chinese version. When i got to make a phone call, it pauses and sometimes doesnt seem to even connect before the call goes through. Data and texts seem to work fine with no hesitation. Anyone else having this problem or any advice? Thanks!
I had the same thin happen while in the office at home is working well.. not sure will test again tomorrow.. are you still having the issue ?
Sorry lads, i was on the same boat as you just a few days ago. My Find N also stopped making and receiving phone calls. Turns out AT&T shut down its 3G services hence you're unable to make phone calls. You'll need to switch to Tmobile if you want to continue using the phone. Tmobile is retiring 3G in July but I believe it handles phones differently than AT&T so we'll still be able to use it after July.
Not sure if that is the case I am on ATT and my Oppo N is on 4G able to make calls…
and might have spoken to soon.. unable to make calls any more.. The weird part is that SMS and 4G internet works..

It is pretty much the case. If youre able to make phone calls currently, it means ATT hasn't shut down the 3G towers in your area. They have plans to complete shutdown by Feb

Since folks here are talking about T-mobile, I have a question.
Does 5G work with it on T-mobile (I'm in the US)?
I saw that it supports n41 which is one of the band supported by T-mobile. But just wanna double-check.

I guess 4G LTE speed wasn't too bad?
I've been on both and honestly my 5G UC indicator shows up but the speed difference is not perceivable.
Suggest trying to manually change the band preference using a utility such as '5G LTE' by Rudra Green on the play store. This allows lots of different LTE and 5g options to be selected. The only problem is that the setting is lost after the phone is restarted. I have been using this to enable 5g in the UK.
