Great work on the Pace/Stratos ROMs.
Apologize if my questions are already answered. I searched the forums and not able to find answers to my questions.
I'm planning to get the Stratos and have some questions. I wanted to see my activities on both AmazFit app and MifFit app. I read that to have that feature I should be on the Chinese version and not on the International version. If I use the Chinese version, does it show up all in Chinese language or is there is an option to select English language?
Also, would like to confirm that Stratos can pair to a external HR sensor and possibly to a Stryd foot pod?
If I buy the English International version, can I change the firmware to Chinese? Is there a way to add a custom activity? I would like to track P90X and Insanity workouts.
I have iPhone X and please let me know that both the versions work wonderfully well with the X.
Appreciate reply.
Thanks.
Only Bluetooth HR chest straps are supported. No footpod. Chinese firmware is Chinese only. No cardio, weight lifting or yoga workouts are supported.
As workouts app try Nike Training Club.
Thanks for the reply.
So, if I buy the Chinese version of Stratos and then installl the English ROM, will I be able to pair with MiFit app?
I didn’t get what you meant by “Nike Training Club app”. Will this app work on the Stratos?
Please advise.
NTC app is on the phone. MiFit app does not work with Stratos.

Hi Sami,
If you buy the chinese version you can change the firmware to the english version and it'll be able to pair with "Amazfit watch" english app (I've already did that), I'm not sure about miFit, I think that app it's only for the other device.
I use the Amazfit spanish app and it can be synchronized with Strava, but there isn't more apps.

Hi,
I'm interested on what you said. - "The custom one based on Chinese firmware will pair with MiFit." So, if I understand correctly, I can buy the Chinese version of Stratos and then patch it with a custom ROM (which may possibly give me English language ?) and then pair with MiFit app? Also, to let you know that I have the iPhone X.
Btw, since there is no option to add a custom workout profile (cardio, weight training etc for now), it is possible to install Endomondo or Sports Tracker or Sportsractive apk on the Pace 2 (Stratos) and run it to track indoor workouts like weight lifting, cardio etc.? If it is possible, then would like to know if I can also port the daily tracking metrics to those apps? This is the only feature that I'm missing and it is stopping me to buy this wonderful watch.
To summarize, I would like to get all the metrics on the MiFit app (since I read that it has more feature set than the Amazfit app) along with the ability to run Endomondo or other third party fitness app (apk) and somehow get that data ported to Google fit. I think the data in the MiFit app can be ported to Google Fit?
Please help.
Thanks.

If you buy the Chinese or International model (both will work), flash the Stratosified ROM (after unlocking the bootloader) and then use the Chinese Amazfit app (which will take some getting on an iPhone unfortunately), it will work with MiFit, I believe. I use the Pacefied ROM on my Pace, with the Chinese Amazfit app and it works with MiFit, which can indeed sync with Google Fit.
As far as I know, there's no way to use Endomondo though, and Strava requires the International ROM, so it's a choice between MiFit & Google Fit or Strava
Thank you for your comments.
So, you’re sure that endomondo or any other fitness app cannot be run from Stratos? Can somebody quickly try to download from apkmirror and let us know? I remember seeing a thread on side loading apk files.
Please confirm.
Thanks.
Due to privacy concerns I don't like Strava either. But it connects to many other services. Endomondo will not work since the watch has no google play and fit services.
If I go with Strava premium, will it allow to sync non GPS activities from Stratos?
Is there any remote possibility of tracking cardio/weight lifting exercises with the watch? I’m looking into tracking P90X/Cardio on a daily basis in the same way, Garmin allows to add a new workout profile (by choosing data fields) from within the watch. The other possibility is make Stratos talk to a web portal where we can add custom activities and sync it to the watch in the same way Sunnto Movescount web app allows.
Btw, any other fitness app similar to Endiomondo that can track all activities (including a custom one) and sync with the app? With Apple Watch, for example, I can use third party watch apps (Under Armour Record) and track on the device and online on the web.
Just my 2 cents.
Please advise.
Thank you.

Not sure is this helps with iOS since you cannot download/install old apps (unless your device is jailbroken, what is very rare nowadays):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/amazfit/android-sync-amazfit-pace-v1-3-5-stock-t3719958
I was able to sync with MiFit on Android using the international versions of Amazfit and MiFit apps, using my Pace. Long story short, it seems that the sync is mostly done using the cloud, so you only need to bind/authorise your watch. So I used Amazfit in Chinese to bind my Pace to my Mi account, then uninstalled the app, installed both Amazfit and MiFi in EN, logged in using my Google account to Amazfit first, then MiFit, and when MiFit opened Amazfit it was possible to find my watch. It's a bit complicated to do on iOS, you must have to change the phone's language/region to download the CN version, but you can try. If you still need help, I suggest that you start a new thread with your exact configuration and questions, it's not nice to place similar questions all over the board. Good luck.
Hello guys, i have another question about mi home app. Only chinese version have the feature to control xiaomi home devices? Maybe to this works, the mi home apk should be installed at watch, right? With English version, I can install this too?

Some people have tried, but it didn't work with EN version, wouldn't even install. You'd better try a CN or CN based ROM.
Amazfit Communication Library
The Amazfit Communication Library is a reverse engineered and modified version of the Huami "Transporter" class (and its subclass "TransporterClassic"), along with its dependencies. This allows both sending and receiving data on both the phone and the watch, using the same library.
Bascially, this allows apps on the watch to access data via a companion app on the phone. To make this easier, this library comes hand in hand with the "AmazfitInternetCommunication" app, which can be installed on the phone and allows apps on the watch to access the internet and perform simple requests, with data in response.
However, you can use this library with your own companion app on the phone to access any data the phone app has access to, for example a companion app on the phone with access to calendar appointments would allow a watch app to display events on a calendar, on the watch.
Usage
See the GitHub repo for the latest code and guide for addition of the library. You can also compile it if you wish.
Amazfit Internet Companion
Amazfit Internet Companion is a generic and open source internet companion app for the Amazfit Pace and Stratos. It allows apps developed with the Amazfit Communication library to access the internet over Bluetooth via a phone's internet connection. As a developer, rather than having to develop your own companion app, you can simply have your users install the companion app and it'll handle the rest, so long as you use the internet functions in the library (LocalURLRequest). Link them to the thread or use your own guide, linking to the latest APK from the repo to use this.
Alternatively, you can develop your own companion app. This could be used for loads of things, for example a companion app could provide a watch app with the calendar events on the phone, provided the phone app had the right permissions and formatted the data correctly. If you want to make your own companion app, feel free to use the Internet Companion app as a base
Hi Quinny, thanks for your great work. Did you make tests of how much this affects the battery life, egg with your train app?
Is it possible to run this in as a background service on watch?

I've not done proper tests but I've had it running for a few days with no noticeable effect on the life. Yes, you should be able to use a background service on the watch, if you need an app on the watch to always be available for receiving information from the phone - but bear in mind that the watch only has 512MB of RAM, so a running service is more taxing on the watch compared to a phone. You may be better off with a background service on the phone that stores the information you wish to send to the watch, which then responds to the watch app when it's run - an ondemand request if you will

So if the watch can get any data from the phone, does that mean I can run Wear apps, like the Hangouts Wear app, on the watch and use it as it works on a regular Wear device? If so that would be incredible.
still work for watches in 2020?
hello, I know it's been a while since the last time this topic was discussed, does anyone know how to inform without this package still working today? I recently purchased an amazfit verge and since my house is completely automated, I want to develop an app for personal use ... thanks!

Still works, not tested it on the Verge though. Should work the same, they use the same framework I think.

Hi,
Long time .NET developer, I have suddenly found interest in exploring development for Amazfit Pace. I have a few basic questions and I'd appreciate your help.
1. How do I access the smartwatch features from my code? I don't suppose Android exposes a standardized API for accessing pedometer, barometer, sleep and other data on the device. I would expect it from Wear OS, but since Pace is running Android 5.1, how do I access for example the current pressure or steps for the day?
2. Can my app use Internet? If the watch is Bluetooth connected to the phone, if I make an Internet request from the app, would it succeed?
Thanks

1.) It does. There's a sensor API you can use. Check my Step Notify app for an example of using the pedometer: https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/amazfit/app-step-notify-fitbit-esque-step-t3741724
2.) Yes, it can use either the WiFi on the watch or you can use the communication library to go via Bluetooth and use the phone's internet connection: https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/amazfit/dev-library-amazfit-communication2-t3779946
Hello everyone.
Amazfit has focused pretty much exclusively on sports and fitness,
I believe for people work in offices, students who have tons of different goals other than basically running,
a checklist app is very essential , and to my understanding, achievable .
Is it possible to port Habitica sync (a gamification of daily tasks) bars to amazfit pace (A1612 ,ver. 2.9.5.0) ?
so that we can swipe to clear tasks, dailies, habits goals from watch interface.
If not possible , is there a workaround method to interact with Habitica thru watch?
uptill now, I have been trying to connect things up with IFTTT, clapier , and some third party codes.
you need a MIPS android 5.1.1 cient of theirs for that, or to write a client that will work with their API directly.
