Stuck on boot animation after forced shutdown with LineageOS 14.1 - Honor 5X Questions & Answers

Now, The circle is running all the time.
Last night I was watching a movie. And then after clicked the 'recent tasks' button, it stuck. The thing I can only do was to press the power key or to throw it and hit something heavily. So I pressed. But it still stuck, in another way, left me a boot animation. Flashing again or restoring a backup of system folder is useless. Today, I reinstalled the whole system in a clean way, and it get recovered for a shirt time.
Why 'a shirt time'? Because I forget to flash 'su', and tried to restart it to recovery mode, but it restarted as usual, so I pressed the power key again.
Hope you can understand me. I'm still studying English.
LineageOS Version: 14.1 20170706

Well, the battery is emptied.

[Q]HELP!!! I lost clock work mod

HELP!!! I installed shostock rom that worked well for sometime….however yesterday when I went running, I was listening to audio and at the same time I was using an app called Mapmyrun, The phone then suddenly just died. No matter what I pressed it wouldn’t come on. Eventually it did come back on after I pressed the volume up button along with the power button and the home button together and at the same time putting the battery back in. Since then I can’t make a call without using the speaker and while trying to play audio, the audio sticks. I decided I needed to reinstall rom or even try a new one but discovered the phone will not boot into clock work mod. When I try the phone just goes dead again and I then have to do the whole volume up button along with the power button and the home button together and at the same time putting the battery back in again. How do I get CWM again so I can wipe?
So holding down the power button doesn't pull up the boot to Recovery option?
What version of Shostock are you running?
XWLP7-SHOstock2-v2.2.2
Now I've actually got it to go to cmw by holding volume up and down together while pressing the home button and replacing the battery simultaneously. When Itry to reboot however it just goes dead and I have to do the whole process again. How do I get it to reboot?

What phone do you have?
EDIT: XWLP7? I9100?
You're flashing a I777 rom on a I9100?
Alright, you get closer.
At first you said you lost CwMR, then you described how to get into CwMR a totally wrong way, then you got in CwMR eventually.
I suggest you spend time and read more on those threads created by creepy. He shows you everything from how to get into the Download mode, how to get into the 3e, .......
Also, fundamental thing, do list your device info if you want more useful help.
Back to your stage, you said you got into CwMR successfully, then reboot???
Have you done anything when you got there? reflashing? wiping? ...... or just got there and reboot and did nothing else?

Need Help ASAP - Blank Screen

I'm using [ROM]MIUI/CM7 Hybrid v3 multi-lang update 04/07/2012 and haven't had any issues whatsoever. Tonight I updated a bunch of Play Store apps that I've been putting off for a while and the only one that I could think of that could possibly have caused a problem is MiHome. Everything else was a pretty standard app/game.
Well my phone rebooted and now after it boots and shows the lock screen it goes blank a few seconds later. I tried unlocking it before it went blank and and I did see the home screen but it went blank again before the icons showed up. I can tell it's still on because there is a very slight glow from the screen if you look at it from an angle.
PLEASE HELP ME. I have no idea how to fix this and wouldn't even know where to begin!!
You've flashed a ROM before, you should know this already... Reboot into recovery, do a wipe data/cache (factory reset), reboot. If that doesn't work then wipe all and re-flash the ROM+gapps.
If you've been messing with system files, it's probably best to go straight to wipe all and re-flashing.
Re-install apps, re-configure the dozen or so apps you actually use on a normal day-to-day basis, and set a lovely wallpaper when you're done. 1 hour tops.
At the very least you'll be available for phone calls and text messages again within the next 10min.
Next time make sure to do a backup so you can restore a working copy of your data and cache whenever you need.
Unless you already know what the issue is, or how to fix it, sorry to say it, but the above steps are likely the quickest way to a resolution.
You're right I am very familiar with those steps but I can't reboot into recovery or any other method. My screen is blank and everything is unresponsive. The only way I can reboot is to pull the battery. I do remember there is a way to boot into recovery from a power off status but I can't remember how to do that.
BTW...thank you for your quick reply!

Hold down the volume-down key while booting up, when you see the Fastboot option appear, press the volume-down key repeatedly to cycle through the selections until you get to Android Recovery, then volume-up to select.
Try this:
- remove the battery
- press Volume Down and hold
- insert the battery (tricky part when holding Volume Down)
- wait till system menu appears
- release Volume Down
- press Volume Down again few times till "Recovery" shown.
- press Power
Thank you guys (or girls)! That's what I couldn't remember. Wiping now and will reinstall ROM.

[Q] Galaxy Exhibit stuck on boot

I have a T-679. it is only lightly modded. I still have stock UVLE1 with Clockworkmod recovery...v5.5 i think. All has been well until recently I have been trying out a lot of new apps. recently i got the adw launcher and camera sensor. now when i reboot i see one Samsung logo, then tmobile/android logo and jingle, then another Samsung logo and it hangs here. if i wait some time and start pushing buttons I see that the phone seems to be active. if i push the power button then the vol-up/down i hear the sound of the volume being adjusted. also very curiously i just found that if i hold down the home button and press the power button i hear a shutter sound!? In some instances, haven't figured out if its a particular button press of just random, i can get the lock screen to come up, which then allows me to unlock the phone and all works normally... until i reboot again.
any ideas suggestion how to proceed? Thanks.
edit: I just checked I have CWM recovery v5.5.04,b
I have a backup from a while back and i just made another backup
I also tryied wipe cache/dalvik which i thought it helped because i think it booted directly after that, but i just tryed again and
this time i see no benefit/effect

After wiping everything such as data, cache, dalvik-cache, battery stats in CWM, try restoring the Nandroid backup which you've created. If still, it gives weird issues, fresh install another ROM.

Jiayu G4 (God I hate to title it like this, but yes) stuck in bootloop

How the problem occurred
So a year or two ago I bought a Jiayu G4A/T/Whatever they're calling it and safely got it here. I've used the stock ROM for a bit but I wanted to get rid of the bloatware that was still on it, so I eventually ended up with a properly rooted phone with a ROM from Jiayu.es (Everything worked, have ClockworkMod as recovery, accessible via Mobileuncle Tools), which was essentially a stock Kitkat rom made to work for the phone. Now I got sick of the ROM and recently saw the new EMUI version on Huawei's P8 Lite, so I figured I'd look around for a tailored ROM running that, and ended up at "jiayu-emui-3-0-stable" from Needrom.
What I did
1. I downloaded a ROM from Needrom with identifier "jiayu-emui-3-0-stable" (I can't post external links)
2. Backed up my important files following a guide from androidcentral titled "[Guide] How to Backup and Restore Apps and Data when installing new ROMs" that I can't link, and did a full backup using CWM
3. Placed the ZIP on my internal SD card, went into recovery, wiped data/cache (not dalvik, since it wasn't described in the instructions, I think this might be a probable cause) and installed the new ROM from ZIP
4. Rebooted the phone and now it's stuck in the boot loop I mentioned.
What the problem is
Bootloops aren't that much of a problem usually, except this one is... I can't get into recovery mode. From there on it'd be cake, since I made the right preparations, but I can't get into it. While connected to my PC it keeps powering on, showing a splash screen from Jiayu.es briefly (which shouldn't be present anymore) and powering off after 10 seconds, only to come back to the splash screen.
What I've tried
I've unplugged it, removed the battery, waited to get a full power cycle and tried to hold my buttons in these combinations: [power button + volume up], [power button + volume down] - but neither work. It just keeps going with the boot loop. I can succesfully power it down, and when I plug it in from there it shows the low battery image. At the moment of seeing that I thought I could connect to it using ADB / Fastboot, but no luck there either. It keeps saying no devices found, and with fastboot it keeps on <waiting for device>.
My questions
What exactly can I do if there is no way for me to get into recovery mode? Are there any alternatives? How can I get my device to be recognized by ADB? Is that even possible? Why is this bootloop any different from others?
Update from the massive Q&A thread:
ZipAddict said:
Is it booting up on its own too after being off? This happened to wifes phone and it turned out the power button was stuck. I took a pencil and hit the power button with the eraser a few times and it worked then. Her case mustve dislogded it. I will keep my fingers crossed for u. If not send me a private message and i will look for an answer tomorrow and get back with u

Yes, it does. I took the battery out and let it lay disassembled for a night, after which I cleaned it a little and re-inserted the battery. With the case back on, nothing happened, so the power button wasn't stuck for sure. When I powered it back on with the power button (no USB attached) it showed the emblem for ~8 seconds and powered off. It then buzzes to show it's powered on again and up comes the splash screen again. Could it be that the ROM was just a rebooting falsehood? Why would it disallow me getting into recovery mode? I really hope there is something that can still force the device into recovery mode / interact with it somehow while in this state.
Oh, I also tried to see if the volume down button was broken but all the contacts seem intact, plus, they worked an hour before I started switching roms.

Oneplus X, Black screen after wake, phone otherwise operational

Hi All,
I apologize if this has been covered before (I read similar threads, but nothing quite like my problem, or the solutions were not effective). I have a Oneplus X, with Lineage 14.1 on it. When I hit the power button to blank the screen, it never wakes up from sleep on a subsequent power button press. I can hold the power button for a long period of time, and reboot, and this restores normal operation.
Things I have tried:
-Cleared all cache
-Factory reset phone
-Grabbed a logcat before and after the wake event(I can't see any obvious errors, but I would welcome some more professional eyes on it)
-used [email protected] to verify that the phone is in fact alive when the screen goes to wake (it wakes up, I can control it through [email protected] on my computer, but still a black screen on the phone)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Ivan
When you mean factory reset, it means that you reinstall OOS on it after formating all partitions?
The mega unbrick guide could wipe it more deeply, but not sure it will help.
Never saw a probelm like your survivng to a complete re installation. So, it might be harware...
Sounds like you are stuck in deep sleep. Maybe kernel issue? Try flashing Boeffla kernel for Lineage. Or change ROM, you could try JDC.
