MIUI stable rom with enabled camera2api
Stable Versions are available for many devices but, i couldn't find one Redmi 5(Rosy). Has anybody got a stable version of google cam or Gcam?

Yes I have one that completely work everything on Stock ROM like portait mode on front/rear and even slow motion too but sadly it was old version (5.1) other new version seems to not work...

I use this version Mod google camera BSG v2e
You can try other version here Google Cam BSG, 6.2 and above for Android 9 Pie, 6.1.021 and below work on Android 8 Oreo, try both BSG v2a or BSG v2e, it is the most stable version I think on Redmi 5 , it also have night sight
gcam 6.2 all working version. follow the instructions to the point.

then give permissions.
then, exit and install the 2nd one.
it is tested on redmi 5 2/16gb variant running pe pie normal build latest updated version.

after trying several Google Camera port of pixel 3 I finally found one which got almost everything working including Night Sight. I am not the creator or anything of this mod. I am just sharing it. All Credit goes to whosoever made this port and thanks to him

Same issue
Working fine with latest liquid remix . I tried to replace the original google cam application and gave permission but it force closed rapidly. Then i just installed it normally and it worked perfect.....

Naah, works on 8.1. You'll have to install that Magisk Module.
I just tried it. Works flawless.
after doing this im having problem with stock camera app.
in portrait mode it just capture blank green pictures(miui stock camera)
normal shots are great in gcam but i think miui stock app takes better portrait pictures.
anybody knows why or a fix to this?
edit: so looks like video mode on stock app is also broken.
says can not connect to camera and force close itself.
by disabling module stock camera comes to life but no gcam
looks like you have tu constantly make the module on or off base on your need.

c2api is not enabled on your phone.
This two magisk modules are only for MIUI.
If the modules don't work via Magisk maganer, try to flash them via TWRP.

It's just for gcam, but i dont have any problem with the stock camera. Both camera modules are working well with both software.
So camera2 api is not enabled yet even after the Pie update?! There were many posts talking about it...

Hi , i found that eu rom is the best and i want to install it with the gcam ,cause i don't really like the stock camera , i'm pretty new with rooting , twrp or magisk , can i ask you some good guides to install them all ,possibly in english , i searched some but couldn't find a good one.

Please Help Me!! i recently installed aosp extended rom version 6.4 which is based on andoid 9 pie into my redmi 5plus.. the rom works fab but no gcam apk works in it.. ive tried about 50-60 gcam ports including arnova's and what not, but still it crashed before even opening.... i tried downgrading aosp version to 6.2.. but still i face same issues.. i do not have any gcam working,,, should i change my rom??? WHAT TO DO PLEASE HELP!!....

That might cause the problem. Stock version of gapps come with Google Camera which may interfere with your gcam apk. Try installing packages which don't include Google Camera, such as pico, nano, micro, mini or full.

Clean flash is always preferred, especially if it comes to rom/gapps things. Flashing it directly probably won't remove previous gapps package so yeah.

I always go for pico or nano, they have everything that's not available in play store, the rest can be downloaded directly from it.

It's the one before all night shot got introduced (it's a Pixel 2 port) but all features work as intended (camera, video, slow-mo, portrait, front and back flash) all stable and nice picture quality.
You'll need to uninstall the GCam apk that's pre-installed in the device.

The front camera will not work as all gcam port have problem of front camera in redmi note 5/ 5plus.... So i u want to click selfies you can use snapchat or instagram or any other camera app from play store..

dude, read carefully...
if you are on stock miui rom you need a gcam mod for nougat version. it doesn't matter who dev make it... it HAS to be for nougat version.
search on celsoacevedo port hub. again: i think you need gcam version 4, not 5, not 6 not, 7, but 4
also, after install the app, don't open it, but go to app info and delete "cache". Then open it.
hope you can make it.
if dont... try lineage 17.0 anderson mendes + gcam mgc_7.2_parrot (it is working for real):good:

well... then no gcam for you.. unless you install a custom rom with android 10 or 9. remember that gcam was created for the original pixel (android 7.1), so all port maybe work or maybe not.
