Problem with LTE/4G - LG G5 Questions & Answers

I have lg g5 h850.
Recently I had a problem with the LTE/4G only option
I did Manually with the hidden manu.
now everytime when i try to choose the LTE only option the call service and the data service getting blocked
I reset my network data and it still doesn't work
But when i choose the auto option it shift back and forth between the LTE and WCDMA
The problem happened only when i do it Manually.

What did you do manually?

I manually Choose the "LTE only" option(force 4G)
Only manually you can choose this option from my understanding.

Oh i see. Try going to that menu again and check another option, or revert the changes

LTE issue with MT2-L03 Android L B309, B320 (using AT&T)

Cannot select LTE as "preferred network mode" after installing Android L (B309) on MT2-L03 phone. AT&T has the phone IMEI and LTE has been provisioned on their end. LTE was working before the switch to Android L. Please advise if you've seen this issue before and/or have a resolution.
2015-08-06 Updated to B320. Problem persists. Cannot change setting to LTE. Settings --> wireless & network: More... --> mobile network --> preferred network type --> can only select 3 last options, doesn't let me select first option which includes LTE. Help anyone???
Settings-->Mobile Network-->Preferred netwok type-->LTE/WCDMA/GSM auto.
Are you sure LTE is available where you are?
This always gives me LTE but I'm on Tmobil.
ALso do you see this when you are connected wirelessly, if so turnoff the wireless to switch to LTE

Yes I'm sure. LTE was working before. Also confirmed it at an AT&T store where I also checked the APN settings. Nothing to do with turning wireless off and on. The option to select LTE is there, it just wouldn't let me select it.
can you try putting in a different SIm card to see if that makes a difference?
If that don't help maybe back to JB then Back to LP, I know that is tedious, But ......

Thanks. Was thinking of going back to AT&T and replacing the SIM (though the LTE did work before I moved to Android L with current SIM). Was trying to get back to Android J (HAM2 B148) but unsuccessfully. Saw in another thread here that the Huawei package was missing a file so may try that if the SIM replacement doesn't work.
Just borrow someones sim first and try it unless the store is next door.
link to complete JB downgrade --> http://bit.ly/1FOY924
Just put the dload folder with both files on the root of a 4gb micro sd, give it the three button press from off to force Downgrade(update).

The new SIM did the trick or whatever reset AT&T did on their end..
On other thing I forgot is you could have checked the notification bar /shortcuts to see if you 4G was selected there.

There was 4G but no LTE
I'm on ATT and B320. No issues at all with LTE. Glad you got it sorted out.

Unfortunately, I don't have menu item with Network Mode
I got this point only for the active SIM. Have you tried to turn off WLAN and use cellular network??

Yes, it is not shown. Screenshot shows that the data network is active on SIM1, it's 3G but Network Mode menu is absent. How can I switch it on?

How to Flash U Firmware On AT&T and Keep Volte & video calling and get lte band 17

How to Flash U Firmware On AT&T and Keep Volte & video calling and get lte band 17
So after Doing some looking around i found out how to get volte and video calling working, and enable band 17 on G930U. I dont take credit for this. i seen it on a different forum and just wanna make sure people know how to fix it.
For starters if you dont have g930u or dont know what it is. heres a great thread about it with easy to follow instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/how-to/xda-community-love-g930u-t3415875
Okay so after you flash the U Firmware.
edit the others.xml in System/csc. Scroll to the bottom of the xml and change volte and video calling to TRUE. Save and then reboot. The options will be in settings and the video calling icon will be in the dialer.
and to re-enable band I7 Open the dial pad
Type: *#0011# to enter Service Mode (Be very careful with what you do here)
Note: You need to be rooted for this to work
Once in Service Mode, do the following:
Tap the menu button and tap Back
Tap the menu button again and select "Key Input" and enter an upper case Q and press OK
Tap the menu button again and select "Key Input" and enter 4 zeroes (0000) and press OK
Wait 5 - 15 seconds. You'll see the Main Menu
Choose option [2]: UE SETTING & INFO
Choose option [1]: SETTING
Choose option [1]: PROTOCOL
Choose option [2]: NAS
Choose option [1]: NETWORK CONTROL
Choose option [4]: BAND SELECTION
Choose option [4]: LTE Band Preference
Choose option [7]: LTE ALL (Or you can choose any band instead)
If you want to go back then tap the menu button and choose Back (Don't press the back key)
Once again guys i take no credit for any of this. ive just seen people looking for the information and decided to put it all together for you
I am just curious, what's the benefit of enabling B17 on the device given that AT&T has B12 MFBI enabled throughout its network?
Does this enable the enhanced LTE voice? When you go to About Device > Status does it show IMS registration status as "Registered"? None of the carrier specific features will work unless the IMS is registered on the AT&T network.

LOL, I know.
What I understand is that none of the carrier specific features will work unless the AT&T network registers your phone. They have certain models they will recognize on their network for those features. 930U is not one of those models.

You left out the part where root is required to modify a CSC in the system partition.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
not where to be found those csc settings on a 930a with the latest pg9 Ota firmware
I am on the 930U firmware on my ATT&T S7. I can get to service mode, I am rooted, but can not get to the Main Menu. I have tried several times and it does not get past the opening page. Any suggestions?
I don't understand. Isn't G930U supposed to be used in US? If a band is used by a US carrier and supported by phone hardware, why firmware disable it?

IMO this is because of the stupid AT&T policy, not because the phone does not support it.
AFAIK not being able to use band 17 is Samsung's problem right?

The S7 has wifi calling on the ATT branded rom. It's the stupid (or smart in a business sense) way they change things to their own proprietary format. If you want wifi calling then you have to buy their phone, not the U version.

Really? If G930U doesn't have wifi calling, why can T-Mobile users use wifi calling on G930U firmware?

That's what I'm saying it has wifi calling, but it does not work on the ATT network because they changed their rom for their wifi calling, the built in Wifi calling in the U rom does not work with ATT.

Wi-Fi calling support? Ever?

Just wondering if anyone has any official news bout Wifi calling support in stock ROM. Haven't seen the option in call settings for any ROM. Surely there are carriers that support it in Europe?

I have a H850 Europe G5 and it has the wifi calling option and I have successfully tested with EE in UK. It depends on ROM/Variant and Network.
I can confirm that is the case for my UK H850

Try this :
Dial *#546368#*850# in the phone app.
Select SVC menu.
Select VoWifi.
Enable Wifi calling.
Try a system restart after enabling if the option is not visible.
Can those who are using WiFi calling please check if this option is enabled as well as is may or may not work.

My network is EE. My firmware version is v20a (European). Yes, there is even a VoLTE toggle on the notifications quick settings.
Having looked through more of the settings in the hidden menu and it appears you can enable all those options that were talked about in the service menu.
After dialling *#546368#*850#
Enter Field Test -> GPRI_VoLTE_VoWifi ->UX
From within these settings you can enable the various options inside the call app, those with VoLTE and Wifi calling enabled please test this as well to see if the settings are enabled on your devices.

I had already checked all 5 boxes in the UX menu beforehand and still no menu item appeared in Settings->Call. Toggled the SVC menu option on "1" and reboot but still no Wifi Calling setting to be found anywhere. I'm on T-Mobile and they do support Wifi calling. I'm running Fulmics 20A w/firmware on Euro (Non US) H850 not a variant. It seems weird if the network is to be blame item making me feel like it's a rom issue but it's close to stock and I have flashed stock as well several times and still have never seen the option.
Sorry for my english but you has to have the correct efs folder whit the settings for volte enabled for your carier and the suport aps like imsconfig and a rom that suports that but if u are using fumics it should suport

Network mode missing

Hi, I just recently use LG G5 Model F700K Korean variant and I notice that it missing the network mode for switching 4G and 3G connection. I also try hidden menu but mine doesn't show network test at all. Is there any way to access this menu???
I'm on LS992 running a GSM card.
I can toggle 4G/3G by going to Settings > Mobile Data > Menu > Mobile Networks > Network Mode > "Automatic" for 4G LTE data, "GSM/UMTS" for 3G data.
Using hiddenmenu APK, I can do it by selecting Field Test > Modem Settings > RAT Selection > "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto" for 4G LTE data, or "GSM/WCDMA" for 3G data.
However, these were not accessible to me either until I switched from Production to Lab network using the hiddenmenu APK.

My apologies, I meant to include the link but didn't save it last post. Link to the APK installation file for "HiddenmenuCall" app is in the following guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g5/how-to/guide-gsm-unlock-sprint-lg-g5-t3574819
Essentially follow the guide and skip steps 4-6 (unlocking carrier bands, unless you want to do this too.) It will prompt you to turn on app installs from unknown sources in step 2; do so for this app and turn off after this installation is complete to keep secure.
