hello . treble works on mt 6757 ''helio p20'' ????
There's no way for us to know if your phone supports it, but you can follow this guide to check for yourself if your phone supports Treble.
No need to post an entire thread about this. You can easily Google this type of stuff.
I don't understand why people are annoying making this useless threads, moderators just should get rid of this posts. If your device is not on the treble list, is because is not support for a treble project.
Im know, but interesting me not treble for device with treble on. Interesting me support treble for mtk6757 devices only.

Hello @MAREK10747
No update for xa1 i think !!! No partition update for this phone
1 partition actual system (A)
2 second partition for new system update (B) if bad update return to partition (A) !!! ?
My bootloader allowed no and no root for this ciao xa1 ?
Soo I have few updates for partition A only . Soon I publish few updates making xa1 ready for treble. My updates must to be installed one after one . That was very important for make usable xa1 with last treble updates . Actually my system image's have a updates of boot and system stock base with updates from treble. Next time after last update you can install fully treble images .
Who is interested my own version of updates to GSI , I welcome to my post .
I add vendor to XA1 . How to enable vendor mount in boot.img ????

Has Android Oreo brought Project Treble to the Honor 9?

I thought only phones shipped with oreo had proper partitions for treble?! And that phones updated to oreo after could not be partitioned because it could brick your phone.

i know that it could be done, but was not necessarily required for manufacturers.
And yes, huawei enabled treble via an ota update to android 8/emui8 - btw huawei has the new partitions since nougat.

Thank you for answering my questions, I have a last one . Considering that with treble only system partition is flashed, from my understanding, kernel is stock and works with the treble custom rom, is it possible that a device like the honor 9 could get a treble AOSP Android P Rom in the future or that Oero kernel would need to be updated with a full stock EMUI Android P update?

i dont think that it will be that easy to port a new major android version, but we'll see how google handles the vendor versioning part.
It is already a big struggle to get 8.1 running upon 8.0 treble implementation, just because fundamental things changed in the main treble implementation.

Is there any post where I can read more about those problems? I thought it would be the same underlying vendor layer between versions from now on :/
Realme 1 will be popular among developers for sure.XDA acknowledged it by opening a page for our device even before its sale has started. So all that is good.
Now coming to the problems,
We all know that mediatek is infamous for not releasing kernel sources. That makes it difficult for the developers to build custom ROMs.
On a more positive note since the realme one is based on 8.1 Oreo,I am guessing that its project treble compatible(somebody please confirm this) which makes the custom ROM development easier.
So the final question,
Will we get fully working custom ROMs of future android versions even if oppo and mediatek does not release kernel sources? Will project treble help in doing that??
You most probably will not. Snapdragon phones have better development, for example, the Redmi 4A did not have kernel source till recently, yet we had bugless Nougat ROMs, and now with source we have Oreo. It all depends on developer support, Oppo is not a brand that interests developers, on top of that it is a Mediatek phone, your custom ROM dreams may well be shattered. A few ported ROMs may be made if any developer decides to make it but will most likely be too buggy.

True. But oppo has never released a phone like this.
This phone has the same chipset(helio p60) of oppo f7 which is two times more costly than the realme 1.Therefore it offers immense value for money. And this will attract a lot of customers.Normally when a device has a huge customer base and if it is a value for money device, developers usually become interested in those devices.
Also I know know that both mediatek and oppo have violated GPL many times by not releasing the sources. But since this device is treble compatible,it should solve that problem to a certain extent right?
I am open to discussion...

Yes it will help, as project treble is a initiative by Google to help developers create custom roms without approaching Vendor(Oppo) or the Manufacturer(Mediatek).

I don't need root access, but there are issues with Color OS 5.
Like:
1. New notification pop appear for 3-4 seconds and you cannot swipe and close them, you need to wait to automatically close them, hampering your work. In other OS you can simply swipe left/right/both to close popup.
2. If you enable development option, then yellow notification will show constantly to close it, until you close mode. Why can't I use function like mock location, etc.
3. If you use app which use accessibility services (like Greenify) then it will constantly show notifcation bar sign to close, it means you cannot use Developer Mode or Accessibility Services Apps.
Hope Oppo will fixes these issues with Color OS in future updates.

You need to wait for kernel sources to get released so devs can work on custom roms. If we get a TWRP recovery, you can try out the A/B GSI roms which are good but slightly buggy. If you want a bugfree rom, you need to wait a while, maybe a month or so.
Thanks bro when can we expect releases of kernel source another quarter
Hi!
i am new to the treble-enabled stuff, this is the first phone i own that is treble capable and i have a few questions. I think they can apply to other NOBS, so here i go hoping some nice guy will help me understand:
Background: i have the redmi 5plus (global) which i have unlocked (after painful 720h) and i have flashed Pixel Experience 8.1 rom, but i like to experiment and it seems most of interesting roms are on treble.
1. By default, "vince" is not treble enabled. (treble check app says so)
2. "vince" seems to be an "A only" device, not A/B device,
Main Question: Now, what should i do to try (safely) some GSI roms (like here XDA LOS 16 GSI)?
Sub-Question 1: I must most likely flash some other things first, i guess... like a vendor or a treble image? Where do i find it?
Sub-Question 2: I have installed TRWP recovery, is it treble enabled or should i ALSO find a treble enabled recovery?
If i got it all wrong, please i would be happy to stand corrected!
Hi.
Well, yeah, you need to install another vendor, as far as I know, OrangeFox is the treble enabled recovery.
Someone already explained this in this post.
Have fun. :fingers-crossed:

Thank you! Sometimes hard to find the right threads...
Installed orangefox, cool recovery!
One last question... how does kernel works with treble? Do i need treble enabled kernels if i want to change the kernel? Are they provided with the treble-enabled rom already or i get to keep the existing kernel? Is the kernel on a dedicated partition separated from the GSI and the Vendor? (i am starting to understand this, maybe)?

Months ago it started to appear some projects about android 9.0 before of Google revealed it as android Pie, then at this time devices with treble support also can support GSIs from these projects according two specific conditions: the processor (first qualcomm, then exynos, kirin and mtk were supported) and kind of partition system A-A/B.
At this first times was needed to flash a vendor treble supported rom to add treble support and flash over it a GSI 9.0. without the need to flash other kernel.
In this forum there are a lot of GSIs that eventually could work in our device but it could be many bugs https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development.
Now is not needed to complicate the job flashing a vendor, then a GSI and maybe a custom treblized kernel so started to appear first developments of roms running 9.0 and these roms will work as exactly did it any rom 7.1 or 8.1, in the future they could be include treble support.
This is the short story.
After some searching I have several question:
1. Does every 8.0 + support treble , or I need a 8.0 + rom which claim it support treble , like https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-3/development/rom-treble-roms-gsi-t3831555
2. There is a thing call `vendor` on treble project wiki : https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki/Xiaomi-Redmi-3-3-Pro#booting-gsis-pie . What is this used for ?
3. Can I just flash above vendor instead of flashing a whole rom , then install gsi ?
4. I also found below 3 files , they contain `vendor` in names . Equal to above vendor?
