Hi,
In the settings for my gear fit 2 pro watch, when I enable vibrate, I feel the watch vibrate.
However, when I get a facebook message or a whatsapp message, they appear on the watch but it doesn't vibrate?
Is this a fault? Thanks

So I just moved from an EVO LTE to the Note 3 and I'm having a very annoying issue with the Vibration/Notification setup. Previously I had my Evo setup to only vibrate when receiving a call or text message. The note 3 however will vibrate for everything (a call, a message, an email, etc).
Basically I don't want my phone to vibrate when receiving an email (Gmail, using Gmail App). At the same time I like the phone to vibrate when I receive a text message. I tried in phone/settings to turn the "Notification" vibrate level to 0 and then enable the Vibrate in Handcent but no dice, the phone will then not vibrate when receiving a text. I also double checked that the Gmail app is not set to vibrate on notification.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
I would like this "fixed" as well. I want vibrations for text and phone calls but not emails when i vibrate mode.
I found this. Maybe a DEV can look at this and see if it can be changed to how it use to be?

You can change this under Gmail settings. Uncheck vibrate.
Open Gmail
Hit the Lower left menu button
Click Settings
Click [email protected]
Click Inbox sound & Vibrate
Uncheck Vibrate

Yeah, that does not work. I'm learning to live with it but still annoying.

...handles email notifications better than what is described here. The Note 3 is at the top of my list...I have multiple gmail accounts...and this 'news' is not music to my ears. I'll be watching this thread carefully.
I remain interested in this thread...can it be verified that a stock Note 3 can be set up to ring for calls, vibrate for emails, and chime for texts/messages?
Never had any issues with notifications from gmail. Only apps I have set to vibrate, vibrate. I used to have that issue with the EVO LTE actually where I couldn't get gmail to stop vibrating. But it definitely doesn't vibrate now.

Hello everyone! I too had this problem. I solved it in a way that ONLY removed the vibrate from emails. Emails still made a sound (like I want them to, but you can make them soundless), and texts still vibrate and make sound. I'll put the solution first, then background below (background can be important because different carriers have slightly different Android builds).
To solve:
Open Gmail app
Click the menu button softkey (in case I have the name wrong, I mean the button to the left of the physical home button)
Click Settings. Here, you should see General Settings, [a list of your gmail account(s)], and About Gmail
Click on an account, it will open to another menu
Click on Inbox sound & vibrate (third option down for me)
On this new menu, look for the following two fields: Sound (leads to a "choose file" option); and Vibrate (a checkbox)
Quick side note: You may have discovered that unchecking Vibrate doesn't actually turn off vibrations. We need to go deeper.
Look at the Sound option. Does it currently say Default ringtone ([your notification tone]) ? If it does, that's the problem.
Click on Sound, then choose the sound you want from the menu (as opposed to leaving it on Default ringtone)
Leave Vibrate unchecked (because everyone likes specificity in their instructions)
Repeat for any other accounts you have
Enjoy the return of a calm pocket
This way, it should still play sounds when sound is enabled, but will never vibrate. My conjecture as to why this happens: the "default ringtone" is not simply just a ringtone, but also now has the vibrate inherently attached to it (if vibrate is enabled for texts). This is also probably why we cannot change the way the texts vibrate.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and am on Verizon in Oregon (in the off chance that states have different rollout dates). Before the update, which occurred this morning, my gmail notifications were set up to play the Bubbles sound (one of the stock options) and not vibrate at all. If the phone was in vibrate mode, no sound or vibration would occur, though it would still put a notification in the toolbar.
After the update, SO MANY VIBRATIONS! All of the things were vibrating. And while that isn't the only grievance I have with this update, it was the one I fixed.
Hope this helps.
Thanks a lot , thanks , thanks , thanks , you are the best men , your are the one THANKS :highfive:
I have this issue: most notifications are displayed vithout vibrating. Only calling and SMS vibrate (but no all SMS applications, only Chumb SMS vibrates but Hangouts stock (Samsung S5), Evolve and next only display message and not vibrate), the same Facebook Messenger - no vibrations.
On what depends it? I don't see any options how change it.
Thanks

Same problem. It's maddening! Facebook messenger doesn't vibrate. All notification settings are on within the app. Whats the fix?
I had this problem once too. Restarting LG Watch solve this issue.
I see notifications pop up on the screen, sound mode is on vibrate, strong setting, do not disturb is turned off. I have reset the gear to no avail
not sure if there is some setting I'm missing but it seemed to break when i turned on and off the "do not disturb"
OK so I went back to AT&T and they trouble shot with Samsung we did a soft reset and a hard reset of the operating system. AT&T traded it for a new watch. I got home and have the same issue. I contacted Samsung again and they stated the below
"I have checked with the information and I am sorry to inform you that Gear S will not vibrate for any third party applications notification."
so what is the point of having a notification if you don't know you received it? my original galaxy gear vibrated for 3rd party apps but this one doesn't? i suppose i have a couple more days to decide if i should just return it
My notifications vibrate 3rd party or not

well now I'm just confused.
ok 2nd samsung rep figured it out. the new watch reads the settings from notifications from 3rd parties i suppose. I was having issues with kik messanger not vibrating. the vibration setting for the phone was off. my old watch would vibrate with that setting off. the new watch sees that the vibration is off and doesn't vibrate
i wouldn't have guessed but it fixed it
No Notifications of thrid party apps
Hope mine starts working. Does not receive notifications for third party apps at all. Tried almost everything. Going to have to swop the watch for a new one.
I`m using 3rd party Apps like K9-mail, Handcent SMS, etc. ALL these Apps vibrating on notification send to the Gear.
Samsung info is not right.

Did you enable notifications for the desired apps in Gear Manager?

Yes.............naturally
After 2 weeks trying to make this work, this is what I have found :
If the notification is set to mute (no sound and no vibrate) on the watch side (like whatsapp goups often) then the notification on the Gear will also be mute (no sound and no vibrate) whatever is the setting on your Gear (this is a different behavior than previous gears).
If you set on the phone app a notification alert (any sound or vibration) then your Gear will also alert on that notification acording to the Gear setting (sound or vibrate).
This works on any application, 3rd party or not.
So what I did was setting a very discrete, almost unaudible sound alert on the notifications I would like the Gear to vibrate and set the Gear to vibrate mode.
So far is working with no flaws.
Sometimes I want my Gear S to just vibrate when I get a notification and don't show this notification on the screen.
Is this possible?
Hello,
I have been the owner of the Realme GT 5G phone for 2 weeks - it has Andoird 11 (v RMX2202_11_A.11) with realme UI 2.0. I spent hours trying to configure a few things, but I failed. As I didn't get the desired results, I decided to try to find help on the forum.
So, starting from the beginning:
1. I have a problem with the Facebook Messenger app, because when I work in vibration mode, notifications coming from the app are only signaled with a very short and delicate vibration. This vibration lasts for about 1 millisecond, which I can barely feel when I'm holding phone in my hand and expecting the notification. I checked vibration for notifications from other applications and they work properly.
a) I have all notification settings turned on in the Messenger app.
b) In settings -> Sounds and vibrations -> vibration intensity -> the sliders for the vibration with the ring and the vibration with the notification I have set to maximum
c) Battery settings for Messenger app are "optimization off"
When I have ring mode on, the Messenger notifications are properly signaled with a sound.
So what is wrong with vibration pattern for this app? Why the notifications are not properly signaled? What can I do to get normal vibration notification?
2. I have 2 games in "Game space app", version of the app is 4.5.27_6d29cc7_210603.
a) When I'm using app #1 - the Messenger chat bubbles are on top of the app, so I can see them for the entire time <- and that's what I would like to achieve.
b) When I'm using app #2 - the Messenger chat bubbles are hiding under the app #2, so I have to show the navigation bar (swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen), to see chat bubbles on the screen.
In settings for Messenger I have set "Display over other apps" as on.
Which setting is responsible for this feature?
3. Another problem with notifications from some apps (inter alia: Gmail, and game #1).
I'm using original Always On Display mode.
The problem is that some notifications don't come when the phone is locked and Always On Display is working.
Notifications from text messages, calls, facebook messenger or game #2 arrive normal, at the time of their receipt.
But from Gmail or game #1 notifications only arrive when I press the power button and wake up the screen. So when the screen is locked, there are no chances to get notification from those apps. This is silly because notifications are there to notify you of an event when you are not using your phone. But in this case, they only notify when the phone is in use.
a) Battery settings for these apps are "optimization off", "allow auto startup", "allow background activity".
b) In notification settings these apps have all settings on. They can notify everywhere and everytime but that doesn't solve the problem.
What else can I do, to receive these notifications on time?
Thank you for your help
