Snapdragon model, unlocked officially, twrp and rooted, phone downloads update, and just shows mi logo on reboot, tried changing to rom to update.zip, still no go, what do I need to do different? Cheers
What ROM is your device on at present?
What is reported here: -
Settings - About Phone - MIUI Version
You have unlocked officially, so i assume your on a developer rom.
Get the latest developer rom from here and use the updater to flash that.
Make a backup on external sdcard first.
Not on dev Rom, currently on miui global stable v7.5.3.0, phone says update available to v7.5.4.0, which downloads to phone fine, guess it will not install as it does not like twrp or root....???
Flash the zip it downloads using TWRP. It downloads to a folder in the internal storage i think.

Changed to alka twrp: http://en.miui.com/thread-282773-1-1.html?mobile=2
Reflagged the rom, flashed superSU.zip. rebooted phone should be fine.

Because you downloaded the recoveryAlkaUpdate.zip, when you used root explorer it only contain the recoveryAlkaUpdate.img, extracted it and copied to internal phone storage or external sd card, then used twrp to flash recoveryAlkaUpdate.img or used flashify to flash it.

Next time when you flashed a full rom by alka twrp, flashed superSU.zip , then rebooted phone will be normalised. I always used alka to flash rom without any problem.

No it just froze on the mi logo, only showed moving white bar after deleting twrp and root, have now taken the advice and installed alka twrp, will see what happens on next update.
Hello guys need some help. I am using redmi note 3 snapdragon variant. I am now on RR and recently I changed my imei using an app....but when I restore my original imei ...both sims are having same imei...is there any way to edit imei separately for both sims other than restoring EFS partition in alka twrp.
I have made a backup using twrp, changed few roms and lost imei, how can I flash only efs1.emmc.win and efs2.emmc.win using twrp to get my IMEI back?

Hello everyone,
I am using Redmi Note 4 (nikel) MiUi 10.2, Android ver 6.0, Bootloader unlocked and install twrp. Yesterday, I am trying to upgrade from recovery method. In this case, before install firmware I was backup Boot, System, and Data. After backup I was wipe Dalvik/ART cache, System, Data, Cache, Cust. Than I was installed firmware and successfully upgrade. Than rebooted deviec. But my device looped in boot.
Because I was wiped cust partition without backup. If any one using same device redmi note 4 nikel and installed twrp please backup this cust patition and upload to restore. I cant flash from fastboot because I can't use PC. So this is only way to recovery. Can anyone help me please.

It is not recommendable to restore a backup from A10 to A12, you can encounter a bunch of incompatibilities. In regard to TWRP installation just do it through fastboot, you should try booting first to it and then permanently flashing it, remember some devices need the vbmeta to be flashed too.
Hi, I updated my Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S model. After doing this, there is no trash can menu in the gallery app. To solve this problem, I even removed the update and deleted the gallery app cache, and then the gallery. I installed the Chinese Gallery App ROM but the problem still exists, my phone's ROM is global, is there a way to fix this problem.
