so I've messed up with my phone a-lot and im in some sort of soft bricked mode right now..
I've had some xposed module that boot looped me so I've tried some wiping in recovery untill I deleted the whole system by accident..
So I've flashed a few ROMs, nothing happened, untill one of them also deleted my TWRP..
Now when the phone boots it shows:
LG logo >(the unlocked bootloader message is gone)> LG animation > Encryping white window with "Reset phone" button that does nothing..
I can get to download mode by long pressing volume up + plugging cable
I can't get into fastboot mode by long pressing volume down + plugging cable
going to recovery (power off > hold volume down + power > logo > let go power > hold power again (keep holding volume down always)) bring me to the Factory data reset window > clicking yes twice makes a reboot (I think it actually factory reseting..)
I assume that my path now is: go to fastboot > flash TWRP (*) > flash some ROM
I'm stuck on entering the fastboot mode..
any suggestion how to further proceed?
any idea will be useful
(*) the TWRP as it probably been deleted
(**) I assume (and really hopes so) that I didn't relocked my bootloader somehow.. I don't think I can unlock it again somehow, I can't use adb (I can't get usb debugging as the phone wont boot).. is there a way to unlock bootloader on bricked device?
well.. I solved it..
I found this link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/how-to/bring-lg-g5-to-life-download-mode-lgup-t3565508
which basically reference to this link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/uppercut-lgup-loader-g5-variants-t3511295
which basically tell you to download this "uppercut" software that can flash things (I was connected via download mode), so I flashed the ROM it linked (some kdz file 1.8GB named after your specific device (which is shown on the uppercut software).).. and it reboots to new stock ROM..
Now I can mess up my phone again until next time

I got a tablet device (Omega OT107) I've rooted it using
Code:
ro.kernel.qemu
method.
Next I'm triying to flash Custom Recovery and my problems started here.
What I've tried:
1.
Code:
flash_image recovery
- no success process of flashing never ends
2. Install bootmenu to /data/bootmenu
3. Installed 2 different 2Init's
None of this worked or even had an impact on how device works (it always boots in android correctly).
I've tried to boot it to fastboot mode to flash recovery from there but there is a problem that I have.
Volume(up or down) + Power buttons starts device to Android not to bootloader (I've read you need to remove and reinsert battery to make it work, but device has a build in batery and needs to be taken apart to remove it so I did not tryed it)
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
- boots to what I think is a bootloader (screen is black(no light is comming out of it)) when connected to Windows PC it is seen as Android Bootloader Interface (Android-SDK driver).
Code:
fastboot devices
does not discover any devices, clicking volume or power button does nothing.
Code:
adb reboot recovery
- boots devices it what seems to be useless recovery mode. At start there is a standing android dude with fireball on his chest, and imidietly changes to a lying position with his chest oppened and an exclamation mark comming out of it (I've red it is ok and I need to press Volume(down/up) + Power buttons to open recovery menu but it does not happen).
My question is:
Is it normal to some devices bootloader to look like mine? How to make it discoverable to fastboot?
I had this issue and I fixed with "press all the buttons!" and suddenly I sow recovery menu...to factory reset. if it doesn't work repeat with rebooting with pin
Does someone knows a way how to hard reset this thing?? ^^
about firmware
Any idea where find the firmware for this tablet?
Mine is now freeze on recovery logo
hard reset OT107
1.Turn off our tablet.
2 We press the MENU button at the same time + POWER HOUSE click and hold
3.Wait until the Android image.
4.Then VOL + button and the POWER and appears to us to Recovery Mode
5.Navigation is Vol-i + and confirmed by pressing POWER.
I have managed to "soft brick" my phone and I basically have bootloop where nothing except turning off from boot window is functional.
Volume Up/Down + Home + Power doesnt work. Aka recovery mode or neither Download mode.
At the moment I use ODIN program in computer.
The question is, that is there an alternative way to access in Download mode. I was told face to face that other devices have an schematic when/where cable and buttons should be pushed down.
At the moment I am waiting for JIG USB device that should allow bricked phone automatic access to Download mode. Then use ODIN to Flash ROM to reset everything.
Rooting was done by SuperSu program which also lead to brick after wrong update option. (Used HTC update)
Everything is OK.
The problem was that I was trying to go download and recovery mode after I had runned the system once before.
It should not be forgotten that button combination works only when everything starts from 0. Remove the battery and then press the buttons.
Hi,
I own galaxy s3 i9000, currently on custom rom. My phone automatically rebooted and got stuck on bootloop. If I am able to enter in recovery mode, i can wipe cache(which may can help to get out of bootloop). But the problem is I am unable to enter into recovery mode because phone's volume up button is not working and my phone auto reboots every time after power off or reinserting battery. Is there any other way to clear cache or enter into recovery mode?
I dont want to flash my stock rom via odin (because i didnt backup my some important apps and msgs), this will be my last option.
sorry for my bad english
The normal way I get my phone into recovery mode from the PC is using ADB and the command: "adb reboot recovery". However, I bet this won't work in your case for one of several possible reasons: depending on when the bootloop occurs in the boot process, the phone may never reach a point where ADB is able to see your phone in the first place; if this is happening after a flashing a new custom ROM, then also it's unlikely that USB debugging is turned and the PC is not yet authorized to connect with it over ADB.
Another thought, could your power button be stuck down? I had a GS3 SCH-I535 several years ago and the power switch went bad on it, it would keep rebooting, shutting down randomly, or I'd be unable to turn on the screen. I had a switch replaced and it was fine after that. I don't think it's normal for the phone to automatically boot up when you reinsert the battery, that's why I bring that up. Maybe you can wiggle the power button a bit and try to unstick it if that's the case.
I tried to remove and stick back the power button again, but still it didnt worked. By the way fixing power button will not help me to get into recovery mode as my phone's volume up button is also not working, and recently I found out that I cant enter into download mode too because when I press respective buttons (volume down + home + power) for download mode, it gives warning msg to click 'volume up' buttton to enter into download mode or 'volume down' to reboot. Therefore again volume up button is required to enter into download mode too. So the only option remained for me is to visit service center and fix the volume up button.
I accidently flashed the lineage 16 recovery instead of lineage 17.1 recovery. I tried to install the 17.1 update through updater but my phone stuck into recovery mode. Neither I can boot into bootloader nor to android. I can''t flash anything. Power + volume down and connect the cable also not working to go into bootloader. Even bootloader option within the recovery also brings me back to recovery mode. ...adb devices command is also showing "device offline". Any help will be appreciated.
you should start from the beginning
is your bootloader still unlocked?

I can't go into fastboot mode. Is there any other way to check it?
Thank you @stukka2006 for replying me. I guess I saved my phone. So here what I did-
1. Extracted the stock firmware (Luckily I had one but can be found in the forum) and copied the dload folder to sdcard (as I was not able to access internal storage). (@stukka2006 your hint to start from the beginning)
2. Power off the phone and pressed Both volume buttons + power button simultaneously. After the vibration I left the power button while still holding both vol buttons till software update screen appears. But software update failed. So I just touched the reboot now option. The phone rebooted to fastboot mode.
3. I installed TWRP but was not able to reboot to recovery through commands and system reboot command brings me back to fastboot mode. So I again power off the device with cable connected and pressed both vol buttons. This time phone showed recovery screen (Should have worked with normal button shortcuts also, I guess) and I flashed the rom and rebooted normally.
Everything is working fine now except that I lost the data.
Happy you got all clear my friend !!!

You are quite lucky to have the stock ROM.

Yeah...who knows when you need it.
Long story short, I messed up and I regret it. I edited the SDK 2 API levels up to get an app to possibly work and didn't think of the consequences of everything else.
I was running 8.0.0 rooted and am unable to get into recovery as the main boot of android is messed up where all apps result in continuous errors and when trying to enable usb debugging in the settings, the settings crash.
If I could get into revovery mode, I can fix it. The issue though is holding power + vol down does not work. I am not sure how to get into the recovery when the v30 shows that conformity screen on boot when the boot loader is unlocked. I was able to get into fastboot mode but on that screen it says i need to enable OEM unlock. Sadly that is not working as settings crash when trying to enable.
Would anyone have any other ideas to get to recovery?
Let me know if any more info is needed.
EDIT: I do have LGUP installed and does see the device. I would prefer not to have to fully reset the device if possible. Can LGUP boot the device into recovery?
What you described (just holding power and volume) will not get you into recovery... the proper sequence (aka the "button dance") is more involved than that. If you're only holding down those buttons, then you're not doing the process... do a search to see what it is (I believe you need to release and then re-press the power button... but I don't recall, so certainly don't take my description as enough info.
You also said you can boot into fastboot - you may be able to "fastboot reboot recovery" to get into recovery... some phones respond to that.

LGUP can get you to Download mode but not Recovery.
You can boot to Recovery (TWRP) with hardware button dance.
8 sec Power + Vol-, and when it shuts off, release both, immediatly press both again (at the same time), and as soon as the LG V30 logo appears, release power and press/hold it again.
Should get you to the factory reset menu, confirm twice with "yes" (navigate via vol/power buttons), and TWRP should boot fine.
Might take a few tries to get the right timing for that

For that, remember the annoying bootloader unlock warning is part of the boot sequence, if you still have that.

@schwinn8 -
I ended up doing a clean flash with LGUP as I need my phone for work and thought this might as well be a good time to update from stock oreo to stock pie. I wish I had remembered the master reset method as that should have throw me into recovery, I was releasing and then holding both power and vol down when it should have just been releasing power and then holding while continuously holding vol down. Along with fastboot, a while back I had to reinstall windows and so not thinking things through, I did not have working fastboot drivers and didn't initially realize it.
Mistakes were made :/
I very much appreciate the reply.
