Hello,
After Unlocking my device, and formatting / uncrypting Data partition, I lost the stock theme.
And I liked the lockscreen images.
I didn't manage to find a way to get them back, despite my multiple attempts.
I didn't find them on the "Theme" app. I even tried to extract form stock firmware, but didn't find the theme/images inside.
Any idea how to get back the stock theme, with lockscreen images ?
It's a little problem, as I managed to root / TWRP / Xposed my device successfully.
I'm really happy with it !

Since I saw some AMAZING themes but I was unable to install'em, I wanna ask if somebony is able to link some themes which are compactable with Khalpower's V4 GalaxtXT ROM, couse I tryed like 20-25 themes and from all only DarkFroyo V2 and 1 more works.
Thanks alot!
The Honeycomb-theme works fine on V4 (except that you need to replace the keyboard with some keyboard from the Market, but that's the only bug there is).

Kahl has this one posted somewhere in one of his threads. It replaces the stock LatinIME.apk & works fine. Just copy the zip to openrecovery/updates boot into Open Recovery, appy the update, wipe the dalvik-cache & cache partitions & reboot.

When i try to apply the galaxyxtv4 theme update, it does not work! i still have the red theme and i dont know what to do anymore. Isnt that how one apply a theme? am i missing something?
I believe others had issues with that update too. If you're running the PersonaRedv4 I think you can just restore the system partition from KP full GalaxyXTv4 (nandroid restore) & wipe the dalvik-cache & cache partition & reboot.
I was wondering... if I install propper theme which works woth this rom but replace apps from other theme (and apps are more - 6 in compactable theme and about 20 in that one that I will replace with), so will it work as it works with bootanimation, couse if I keep the working theme but put difetent bootanimation it still works.
I'd give a guarded yes. If the filenames of the apps you want to replace match EXACTLY (e.g. maps.apk is not the same as Maps.apk) then they will be overwritten. If they don't match your best bet is probably to remove the apps you want to replace before installing the new ones. You will be limited as to the size of the system partition so adding files as system apps could be problematic but replacing one modded app with another should generally be OK. Another thing to note is (I think) not all apps can be installed as system apps. Note that it is always a good idea to do a nandroid backup before you try making the changes so (when) things go wrong (and they will ) you can get back to a functioning device as painlessly as possible.
Hi guys.
I'm looking for a working Gingerbread Theme for the V4XT rom.
Could you please help me?
Thanx in advance.
I was wondering if this one coud work? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9784619&postcount=13
I was previously used it on my original 2.1 Rom and it was absolutely perfect.
I have today tried to install many themes with the new khalpower v4.
Result was the follwing: I was able to get a decent outcome. Keyboard bug could be fixed but after a couple of theme flashes things started to get weired. First my gmail app stopped working.
After that I only got jibberish as fonts so that I was unable to change languages or anything else for that matter.
I'd very much appreciate ports for the new v4. Right now I'm using the fix described above. Thanks so much! Worked like a charm
Hi All,
as you may see, I'm new to XDA and even though I'm familiar with linux, I'm new to the whole Android thing. I successfully flashed VillainROM onto my SGA and noticed that I don't like the stock gingerbread launcher. So I tried to get any TouchWiz-Style launcher on my phone:
I tried the "TouchWiz Launcher for Gingerbread [V4]":
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049501
I had to replace the "update-binary", but finally it doesn't match the screen size of the sga and moreover it always crashes when I'm trying to start any app.
I also tried the "Honeycomb" theme:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104335
Some icons and the general menu style changed, but the launcher didn't change - could that be because I couldn't figure out how to install that "minimal.zip"-file?
I somewhere grabbed "TW4_for_Tab - 182dpi.zip" of which I thought it was made for the sga, but it failed to install.
Besides, I tried some other TouchWiz (4) mods of which I can't find the reference anymore. Some of them didn't install (the well-known "error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip") even with a replaced "update-binary", so that wasn't a success either.
I figured out how to mount the unmodified 2.3.3 Samsung-ROM and could access the TouchWiz30Launcher.apk - but I didn't try to move it to my system folder because it isn't de-odexed - is it a problem to put a non-de-odexed apk (and it's .odex) onto a generally de-odexed phone?
Now I'd like to know if there is any easily usable TouchWiz I could use. Some enhanced version of TouchWiz with additional features would be nice, but I think I would also be satisfied with the unmodded Samsung TouchWiz.
Thanks in advance!
I've searched EVERYWHERE and I just can't seem to restore my phones keyboard.
I have an AT&T Fusion, AKA the Huawei U8652, and I successfully rooted it.
I currently have an iPhone 4S, so I was trying to use the Fusion as a sort of Android "iPod", so I downloaded a Terminal Emulator and started deleting unnecessary applications and bloatware, and any phone-related apks (and another type of file that I cannot remember), since I figured I wouldn't need them.
I deleted these apps from the System folder, which usually is read-only, but I gave myself temporary RW access via the command:
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4/system
which allowed me to delete apps, and after deleting a few, my keyboard disappeared. I believe there was a pop-up about Google Services Framework crashing, but I had that happen prior to losing the keyboard after I deleted an app, and nothing seemed wrong.
I reset the phone to factory default to try and get the keyboard back, but nothing changed.
Now I'm on the activation screen, and clicking the Android does nothing, nor does clicking emergency dial, so there is no way I can bypass the activation screen via dialing numbers.
Since I reset the phone to factory default, I think I lost my root-access, so when I try to install a custom recovery image, the phone isn't recognized, and I cannot access the phone to enable USB-debugging so I can root the phone again.
I've gone into the recovery menu and deleted the cache, and data, and did a few factory resets, and nothing has changed.
Is there ANYTHING I can do? I believe I was on 2.3.5, so is there like a stock ROM I can download that I can install via the regular recovery menu?
The worst part about this is I only tried deleting the bloatware because I couldn't figure out how to install a custom ROM, but while looking for solutions to this problem, I figured out how to install custom ROMs on my phone...
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
EDIT: I tried to install a supposed stock ROM on it, but it acts as if I'm installing a custom ROM, giving me a verification error, which leads me to believe its not a stock ROM. Is there anyway I could download the stock firmware and install it on my device as to restore the missing files? Also, would I need a valid AT&T SIM card to do any of this?
I did some googling, and it appears on many websites that the U8650 (Sonic) is almost identical to the U8652 you have. I can't tell you whether flashing sonic roms on your fusion is safe or not, but at the very least, if you can get your phone working with ADB, you can extract the sonic rom's zip and just push the apks you removed onto your phone. I can't guarantee it will work, but I don't see why it won't.
If you do try this, let me know how it works.
Hope that helps..
Edit: Oh, and you do not need a SIM card to flash ROMs onto your phone.
Edit: I just saw that you found a supposed stock ROM; perhaps try pushing apks from that?
Hi all.
When I unlock the device, there is only a beautifull black screen because I uninstaled some default amazon stuff(I thought it was not so important files).
The kindle fire is already rooted and safestrap is already working, but I couldn't make any custom rom work yet. I gess is due stock firmware version. Gapps are working too. I tried unsuccesfuly via google play to install something.
As solutions I thought about sideload (I don't know exactly what) or solve this by making start settings on startup to reinstall the default firmware.,or renaming general settings file instead the locksreen one. Even including this into "recent content" may fix it.
I don't know if there is a better solution, or how to make this.
Thank you for your help.
Hello all,
my Question is:
How to Embedding a custom APK inside Android 11 Stock ROM as part of the System?
I want this APK to survive a Reset to factory settings and to be installed again as part of the system no matter how many times I reset to factory settings or wipe/format the device!
My device is: Samsung SM-M315F/DSN
should this APK goes inside:
"system\system\priv-app" or "system\system\app" or "/product/priv-app/" or "/product/app/"
I need help achieving this please on Android 11?
I can Root my Device if it's needed at first, but the idea is after I do all the necessary steps for embedding this APK into system that I'll UNROOT my device.
thats it. I hope to find help please.
thanks.
If you wipe / format an Android device by nature all data housed therein are lost - Android OS included, hence it doesn't matter where the APK in question gets installed to.
but jwoegerbauer, when I reset to factory settings android device already gets back to system defaults and preinstalled stock apps!
thats what I need, is to make my APK part of the stock apps, so when I reset to factory its installed as well.
eg. same like google play store, samsung members, galaxy store, etc.
these apps above are part of the system and no matter how many times u reset, they will be installed.
thats my idea..
and btw, thx for your ADB-FASTBOOT-INSTALLER
Correct: A Factory Reset does NOT affect Android's core components such as system-apps ( along with apps pre-loaded by your carrier and/or manufacturer into the system partition ).
So converting / installing an user-app to / as a system-app might be a good idea. But this requires device's Android must got rooted.
it is rooted already but thats not the idea.... coz it's very easy.. all I need to do is using a root file explorer and create a folder with the apk file in it inside app folder inside /system/system/app or /priv-app or /app and give proper permission to folder and to file inside it and reboot and this APK will be installed and be part of the system and even with reset it'll keep be installed
this is not what I'm aiming for or is not my question.
my question is for EDITING stock rom itself and embedding this APK inside it, without the need to root
or
even if I do so with this APK using root method, I then need to UNROOT my device, and if I do so, this private or user APK I installed/embedded will be lost.
and I dont want to lose it.
any help?
used CRB doesn't help and now S.U.R says Format not supported!
