Hello,
does any of you know how to access "storage/emulated/TWRP/backups/" path via TWRP recovery file manager? I made backup with nandroid and now i want to delete it, but I can't find this path. Nandroid file manager does nothing when I press 'trash icon'
I'm able to see this backup via fx file root manager, but when I wan't to delete it returns error 'this operation could not be completed'
Hi,
I stuck with this problem too.
Can't find the way to delete the backup yet. It eats up my storage for 16gb.
Hope anyone can help.
Thank you in advance,
Ed
Hi friends, I had recently used Lineage OS but I wanted to return back to xiaomi.eu weekly rom. I have restored my data backup partition afterwards I flashed my ROM using twrp. Now my password is not working, it shows me incorrect password. The problem is that I cannot use my FP(It's obvious as it happen on every boot/ reboot).
through twrp fileexplorer go to data/system/ delete two files with extention .key and three files with keyword 'locksettings'. reboot.

Same issue, not solved!
Hello,
I have the same problem. It took me all day to finally install twrp recovery since I hadn't turn USB debugging on. I finally was able to do it and i deleted the 5 password files - but now my phone is in a bootloop. I wiped the usual data like Dalvik and cache, but it didn't change a thing.
Also, after I deleted this and took a lot on my File Storage, and navigate to /data/system, where i deleted the password files, there is NOTHING but one thing called "storage.xml".
What am I supposed to do now? I dont know what to do anymore, I have so many things already.

Flash a new Rom . Or you can ask for files in data/system from anyone to upload it on cloud from there you can download and copy those files into system folder it might work without losing a byte of data.

I found a solution now, it didn't boot because of the DM verity. I installed a package to solve that via installing in twrp and then it worked, but all my data was gone.
Just flash this file with the TWRP and you're done!
The file is not mine, it was extracted from the PitchBlack Recovery Project.

I'm sorry for uploading the file to mediafire but I could not upload it directly to XDA

Hello,
is there any way to root a Moto G5 without a factory reset or deleting the data partition ?
I need access to the encryption key in folder /data/misc/vold in order to recover data from a sd card which isn't being recognized by the phone.
This file is only accessible as root. For this reason I have to root the phone. Is there any way to achieve this ?
All help is appreciated.
Regards,
Holger

Hello , to recover the encryption key , you don't need root access. Because root access allows you to write system file , but without root you can always read the file (you have the read only permission). So you can copy it .
To do this download Root Browser and browse to your file , then long press it , copy it and paste it into the download folder for example.
You can download every root file manager app
Here is the link :

No other ideas anyone?
Hi to all. Where can I search for OTA update files before the installation? I did'nt found it on internal storage.
Yes, there are changes now and we dont see that file anymore or may be someone with root access can find (may be stored under system folder)
I founded it. Ota files are stored in / data/update/HwOUC.
Hi, how are you? I'm stuck with a screen lock problem. No USB or developer options enabled (and It cant be enabled, I can only access to de stock recovery mode).
I have been reading and I need to empty the gesture.key file located at /data/system/. But I cant get in to the phone vĂa adb shell, it only is recognized in sideloadmode.
I know that I can do factory reset and it will solve the problem, but inside the phone there are pics and videos from my girlfriend's pregnancy and that kind of tender stuff that I would like to do not lose with the factory reset. So I was thinking, as I can't connect in other way than adb sideload, that maybe I cant overwrite the gesture.key file by uploading a file with the same directory structure. I am thinking in a update.zip file that contains an empty gesture.key file and the /data/system/ directory.
It would be possible? Maybe if I overwrite the file lock screen pattern will disappear.
I can't find how sideload works (I've been reading a lot but haven't found detailed explanations about what I need, so I post here.
I think that if sideload uploads and decompress the file with the correct directory structure will overwrite the file... it is possible?? Thank you very much for your help
