Yeah same with me. Software optimisation is not good. ?
Can these wifi issues be fixed through firmware updates? Since this is an Android One device, is this an issue for Xiaomi to fix, or for Google...?

Just bought and having issues as well. Wifi drops a lot, tried to solve by installing some apps, still testing.
Yeah I'm having lots of drops as well with the August patch. Does the September patch solve the issue? I had some problems with it regarding the SIM Card not being detected so I had to roll back.
I think the sep patch helped cause i aint got no issues.
I decided to give it a go again and it seems it solved the issue with the WiFi drops. Also the SIM Card issue is solved, it was weird and factory reset didn't solve it the first time.
I suppose it was a bad update installation.
Facing swere issue

Is anyone else facing problem, or it's just me?

Yes, I have WiFi signal drop issue on MIA2, some time I couldn't show wifi Name.
Wifi reception is not very good, my old Galaxy S4 has way better 5ghz
I bought a new Mi A2 this week and found some issue with Wi-Fi. Sometimes Wi-Fi data transfer drops, signal is unstable. Facing a lot issue with voice calling though WhatsApp, Viber.
Is this problem can be fixed though software update or it is a hardware issue?
If software update can't fix it, I am considering to buy Pocophone F1.
I think its an hardware issue.....why because already converted to mi 6x and same issues ( miui 10, gsi ect....)
this issues have some fix already or it is really faulty hardware?
Experiencing wifi drops but only in youtube app. But on january patch they greatly reduced. Seems my router isn't good enough for 1080p60

The phone has probs with 2,4 GHz and 40 MHz bandwidth. That's it for me.
I only have problems in my house, and everywhere else the connection never fails. I am also the only one with WiFi problems in my house...

Hello guys..i bought a RAZR XT910 before about 3 weeks and i didnt notice any problems with it at all..its battery life the way i organised it with smart actions is very very good, better than my iphone 4...i have as well those black marks on the screen on low lighting and black pictures but i dont mind this either..as u can almost never see it...my problem is my weak wifi signal..i never noticed it those last 20 days as i have been working on my phone mostly on my computer desk so the phone was next to the router..the only place my phone gets 4/4 in wifi signal its when its next to the router..at 1 meter distance the signal gets 3/4 strength..at 5 meters 2/4 strength and at 10 meters the signal its lost..and this is only when im at the same room that has the router..if i go to another room the signal gets lost..especially when i close the door...i never had any wifi problem with my previous smartphones and i even had wifi outside of my house...please help me here..im quite desperate..what shall i do? return it and demand a replacement? ask for my money back? is there any way to fix this?
I don't have that problem but I'm wondering if you get it with other networks? Also have you tried resetting your router?

yea i get it with all wifi networks...for example my university, work, home..etc
Hmmm. I just ran the Speedtest app and got 12Mbps download over my wifi. It would be interesting to try that a few places and show it to VZ. Maybe they can test it on their network.

Get wifi analyzer and see if you have good signal. I notice that the Wi-Fi graphic is conservative.
my RAZR was having trouble operating on WPA2-Personal secured wifi network.. so i changed the wifi settings to WPA-Personal with TKIP and the problems are gone so you might wanna try this before you RMA.
Mine had problems with dropped and weak signal which turns out to be because I had Bluetooth on as well. If I turn bluetooth off wifi works perfectly
My WiFi reception is appalling. It only see's my home network where as my three year old HTC Hero is seeing seven!
With my package I have the ability to connect to BT Openzone hotspots around the UK.
Not much use if you can't go more than 15ft from a router without the connection dropping!
Bluetooth is off and I have tried several WiFi analysers from the market, all show a very weak signal.
Hi
On mine, yes the wifi signal (bars) are showing less then with htc desire, but I can connect without problems even the router is on the second floor and I am siting on the first, so reachable from the whole house.
I do experience, that it takes a little bit longer to find the wifi as with the desire, but once connected, works just fine.
I do not experience problems with hidden networks. Mine is not broadcasting the id, still connection is stable.

The bars on mine seem less than what the signal actually is. I connect to my home wifi just fine, from all over the house. I also connect to work's wifi from what seems like the same distance as my previous phone (Dinc)
i'm using d-link dws-125 (usb router)
when i connect and start using internet, the network disconnects in a few seconds. then it connect again and the same... etc.
please, help!!!
same problem here, hope a solution can be found as the phone is unusable in its present state
The "single ball" is enough to achieve 10mbit at my place, however, I upgraded my firmware to OpenWRT and now I get two full lines and the "ball" in the bedroom.
Stock netgear firmware is.. Incomplete. :S
Wi-fi back
Hi everybody,

used to have this issue with weak wifi signals, but after installing the 85P radio update, it's gotten a bit better.
Hello everyone!
After a changing an LCD module, wifi signal was reduced (LTE,CDMA works great).
I guess it is because of wifi antenna, contacts, or smth else. Please show me where the wifi antenna located is? It will be great if you show a photo.
Thanks in advance!
I'm having the same issue.
I am using an ASUS RT-N16 Router. We have four iPads, one iPod, and two other android phones (Samsung and Huawei). Our ISP is an ADSL, max 7mbps. All of our devices are getting between 5 and 7 mbps…except the Nubia. The Nubia gets between 500 – 1000kbps. There is one exception. When the Nubia is restarted, the bit rate is the same as the other devices (5-7mbps), for approximately the first minute. Then, shortly following the restart, the rate declines back to the aforementioned slow rate. LTE works fine.
Fixed

Pulls all WiFi signals in my home on all bandwidths with no issues, connects almost instant and is ready for use within seconds of connecting. I can use my WiFi in the house from my car much better when sitting outside or in the driveway and my routers are in the middle of the house block by tons of walls.
Seems to have trouble switching towers when driving. I have had data drops/disconnects when I can see several Verizon Towers nearby. Its not a verizon issue but phone issue. However, when stationary, seems to maintain high speeds. I have pulled faster speeds with this, then the S7 Edge snapdragon 820.
Mine works well and stays connected to my 5GHZ signal... my older phone/devices sometimes have issues connecting in the rooms at the farthest end of my home... which is not a big home by any means but it does have brick wall inbetween. It does very well.
Coming from the Note 5 the wifi on the G6 is amazing. My biggest gripe with the note 5 is at my Gym they have 3 different wifi and the note 5 most of the time would either not connect or switch wifi.
Walked in with the LG6 and instantly sync up to wifi and had no problems switching to different connections.
My WiFi experience on the G6 has been quite poor. WiFi disconnects all the time, like multiple times while watching a single YouTube video. I have WiFi set to stay on all the time, and my $30 Kindle Fire has perfect WiFi throughout the entire house and never disconnects. Really wondering how to fix this...

I used to have a "n" wifi router and my laptop (which supports ac mode) never work right. Until one day, I upgraded my router to "ac" supported one and it just works perfectly.
Just my 2 cents.
Gets farther from my wireless router than my note 4 did, and that was pretty good. Quite pleased.
Hi,
can anyone check if Your G6 have a problem with "not seeing" WiFi 2.4GHz networkson on channels 12,13,14 ?
I checked two G6 from one delivery. Phone is updated, I did a factory-reset twice. H870 Orange soft. I contact LG support and I was told that probably the motherboard need to replaced...the phone has 2 months and for me it is a factory defect.
Hello,
I like this device. After 2 weeks of usage I found one bug. But it is an known issue. The same issue happens on my Nexus 5x. When I have an incoming message, I read it and wipe it from the Notification panel. The same message pops ups again.
The second big is the signal drops on WiFi. When I have the smartphone in my hand, I see that the WiFi signal strength goes down. When the XZ1 is on an table the strength is good. I test it on the same position in the room.

Second one looks like a common issue due to antenna positioning. It is not a software bug. Your hand is just "blocking" the WiFi receiver, try with the other hand to see if the signal improves. This is a sadly common issue with many other phones, sometimes affects the network signal, sometimes the WiFi, it all depends on the antenna design.

Yes I think this is the problem with the WiFi reciever position. I have report it. Maybe the design would be better in the feature.
my mi box s is giving is trouble with wifi ..somehow it brings down my entire home Wi-Fi connection..i have a 2.4ghz 50mbps line ...once i connect the mi box to my wifi the speed reduces to 2mbps on all devices ...yet the mi box still buffers while streaming any video...i tried using a repeater and somehow it gets a speed of 10 mbps now without degrading the entire connection...not sure what is wrong with the box.
so no one else facing this issue ????

Apply latest OTA update and perform full factory reset from settings menu.
i am at the latest version ....
did a factory reset twice ...only thing makes it work is a repeater and my mobile hotspot ...
i understand if the speed is not upto the mark on my mi box probably its far away from the router (still gets 3 bars)
but as soon as the mi box connects to my router ..the entire network degrades ...
even on my one plus 5t my speed drops to 0.2 mbps from 50 mbps
MiBox4 WiFi crashes

I have the same issue like you.
When I connect MiBox 4 the WiFi goes bananas, keeps turning itself on and off, speed degrades. MiBox has të latest firmware. The router is Huawei HG630 V2.
I would really appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction.
Cheers
I'm facing a similar issue. When I turn on the box (mi box 4k), wifi becomes too slow to do anything. If i turn of wifi on the mi box, everything goes back to normal instantly.
The wired network still works fine though.
I figured out that if I turn off my redmi note 7, the issue doesn't occur.
Any ideas on how to debug this issue?
