Help! I debloated mi account app - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 / 5 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi,
The mi note 5 is my first mi device. I debloated/removed some system apps and in this process I also happened to remove the mi account app.
Now, the issue is, to unlock bootloader I need to have the mi account in the device.
How do I proceed further? Can I flash stock ROM on locked bootloader to get back the mi account app?
Thanks in advance!

you locked the device after rooting it?
I dont know how you debloated it without root. or if you had root why you locked the device again.
BUT the final answer is Test Point Method. it solves everything. look up on youtube how to do Test Point.

I didn't unlock the bootloader at all. I used the ADB command via terminal on my laptop to get rid of the bloatware.
Can't I just flash stock ROM/firmware via fastbooot?

Flash roms via fastboot it´s not allowed for locked devices. Try to update normally to other version trough Update App.

You can enable apps again from adb. Just use adb pm enable instead of disable.

Thanks for all your replies guys!
I solved the issue by a simple factory reset in phone settings

P Smart 2019 POT-LX1 EMUI 9.0.1.152

Hello,
I have unlocked bootloader for my P Smart 2019 POT-LX1 EMUI 9.0.1.152 (C432E8R1P12) using paid service.
I thought the life would become easier to root this phone now, unfortunately no..
With the help of XDA member KevMetal I have tried so many things to root this phone or even flash a custom rom. Something is preventing to let my phone boot up with new system.img, also no magisk build is working if I put anything other than original img files phone is bootlooping and going to eRecovery. The only custom thing that was almost working was TWRP for Honor device without touchscreen working (borrowed from forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8x/how-to/guide-how-to-unlock-root-honor-8x-t3864348).
Can anyone help to make Magisk work for this device? Or how to install custom rom? I am stuck now with unlocked bootloader and no root access :S
May I know where did you unlock the bootloader from? Did you tried openkirin?

Hello guys,
I registrated here in xda, to make ppl know that there is a possibility to bypass payment service for unlocking bootloader for free. It's silly to pay'em for administrate my phone, that I already paid for the device.
I think I got a solution that permits to obtain unlock code. The simple thing to do is download the app called 'Device Connect' from f-droid
Once opened, just tap settings on the slide menu, and there is Device UIN number and Device Password. I think one of those is that damn code.I didn't tried this yet and don't have 100% sure is correct code, but I think it worth a try. Only huawei make pay for unlock bootloader? Its first and last time I have bought an Huawei Device, not because politics, but because of their choice to close bootloader, so their bloatware can collect data, but even without root there is a possibility to clean the mess. First of all, Huawei isn't charging you for bootloader codes, the 3rd party programs that can unlock Huawei's bootloaders are.
Second, other manufacturers prevent bootloader unlocking on some of their phones.
Thirdly, bootloader codes aren't that short. UIN numbers from that app have nothing to do with bootloaders, try reinstalling the app and the code will change.
Example code: 9784200582026427 (P Smart 2018)
Only way that this phone can be unlocked is with PotatoNV and HCU ($19) as far as I know, but in the future there might be cheaper alternatives like DCUnlocker ($4).
And finally, Huawei has probably removed the command for unlocking the bootloader (fastboot flashing unlock) on EMUI 10+ so stay on EMUI 9.1 if you wish to unlock in the future.
Don't get me wrong I don't support Huawei for not allowing us to unlock the bootloader its extremely scummy on their side.
Just chill out and wait for people to find out a method for unlocking, or buy a Xiaomi phone and unlock it the next day.
Can someone give me a download link the 9.0 android rom for this device ? I want root it and i have to downgrade from android 10 .

[GUIDE] Bricked K20 Pro after flashing (raphaelin) 10.3.3

Hello Xda and K20 Pro-ians.
Just wanted to share with you what I did after accidentally selected “ clean all and lock” options during the process of putting in K20 Pro India ROM (raphaelin) 10.3.3 into my K20 Pro which was running on China (raphael) 10.3.14.
Started reading the forum and somehow TEST POINT Reset was my last option as I can’t boot into the ROM and was at the Recovery screen, Tried EDL as well still no go
I read through some post, and one of the members mentioned about using an older version of Unlocking application. Immediately, I tried all possible version that I could find and so far version “miflash_unlock-en-2.2.406.5” did the unlocking and straight went into the newly installed India ROM(raphaelin).
FYI. the latest version of MiUNlock doesn’t permit you to unlock bootloader process for another 30days (Mi Policies)
Steps Taken
1. Got my New Phone ( China Rom ) updated to version 10.3.14
2. Read through the post in XDA and begin ripping off my warranty -> Downloaded India Rom 10.3.3
3. Unlock Bootloader (waited for three days) -> starts flashing -> With Clean all and Lock option being checked! - FML!
4. Tried to unlock again with Miflash version 3~ no go
5. Install MiFlash unlock 2.2.4
6. Booth into Fastboot. Run the app and waited for 6 to 8 minute for the unlocking process.
7. Phone restarted
8. Happy days!

After installing 10.3.3 indian rom to your chinese K20 pro, does it automatically change to L1 security policy and your able to watch netflix in HDR?

Apparently that's the claim. I don't imagine there's going to be many volunteers to deliberately brick their phone just to try this out.
We'll have to wait for the next person whose too impatient to fully read the guides and accidentally bricks the phone, before we can get any validation.

Hi Zadjalixx, unfortunately, is still L3, xiao mi need to up their game for this ~ I didn't root or load any custom recovery like TWARP into this phone YET. My initial Idea is the review the phone so I can use it for my daily drive. Also I can't see Netflix in PLaystore, ( so is a bummer for sure ). you have any alternative that could suggest? thanks mate.

Yeah , so far that works for me , I have given up at 1st and ready to make use of the hairdryer to remove the back cover to perform the test point reset.
I read through some treads which I am having issues to trace back, by using an older version of miflash unlock we can unlock the phone without the wait for another 30days.
Like Robo says we need to wait for the next victim to do so ~ I should have recorded a video during that process. Cheers ~

I don't think this will work . due to teh security level , It needs to have L1 rather then L3 to use Netflix service.
I also made the same mistake. I tried to unlock with newest and older unlock tool, but it failed. It is showing to go and check unlock status from the developer option. My device can't boot then how can to developer option?? Please suggest me what should I do. Thanks in advance

you need to download the chinese or indian fastboot rom and install it trough mi flash tool, then once the rom is installed again, you can go into the menu to enable bootloader unlock. Then you probably have to wait a week until you can unlock it using the xiaomi unlock tool.
---------- Post added at 02:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:44 PM ----------
Everytime I use the latest unlocker tool my phone won't boot to OS anymore and the stock recovery boots up. I have to do a factory reset and then i have to apply for the bootloader to unlock again.
Is there an option to see the unlock time without needing to reset the phone?

How is this correct? While Installing India rom, the bootoader got locked and you’re stuck at the Recovery menu. How Can you Enable Developer Options to bind the ID again when the device doesn’t boot?
Are you saying post the lockout, you booted immediately into fastboot and used the Mi Unlock?

Hi Mate, you tired using MiFlash unlock 2.2.4 as well ? Does it work. Basically once i Login to using my MI account and I leave the application run for few minutes and then I am able unlock the bootloader.
Most important step is that you need to put your phone to fastboot then unlock using older version -> then you should be able to boot into your ROM then from there you can enter the developer mode. But initially you should have your phone unlock(boot loader 1st right)
hope it works.
You need to boot your phone into fastboot. in order for the application to work.
Recovery menu ( Original Recovery from Mi / I have yet to load custom recovery like TWRP )
you could restart the phone and boot into fastboot even you are in the original recovery menu. Not sure if that makes sense.
thanks
My problem

.HELP! ..SOS..!! Can't Flash TWRP, Magisk won't install zips.......

Hello! I can't seem to make TWRP Official app (from Google Playstore) and Magisk root to work.... so hacking game is still a distant possibility here. I downloaded both app, but couldn't get them to work, so now uninstalled both.
My phone is: Moto G7-Power with Android 9 (Pie), my questions are:
1. Which of these two should I install first on android without PC? Magisk or TWRP? Seem to get conflicting instruction from those tutorials on Youtube.
2. After downloaded "TWRP Official app" from Google Playstore, chose my phone from the list and downloaded the version for my phone. It said downloaded successful, but I can't flash TWRP, can't open it in recovery mode (hardreset), it wouldn't do anything!
3. As for Magisk apk... one of the two files won't install, the zip files.... it said "failed"... so what do I do then?
Can anyone please help me fix all these problems? Very frustrating right now.

Thank you, Kumar for your response. First of, I'm NOT a techie like you. I just followed these tutorials on YouTube....
With TWRP app this is what happened (or not happened):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtvI2C9VrOY
Started having problem at the 3:00 min mark here as well... even with hardreset
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEHChHcpZEI
I couldn't do what this guy did at the 3:00 min mark....
With Magisk Manager app.... what happened was just like at the 3:00 min mark on this video

I thought explaining what'd happened by referencing what I was doing per these tutorials would better answer your questions, since I don't know how else to say it, again not a techie person.
<Morky>
You have to unlock your bootloader first. It requires that you read out a encrypted code from the phone, via the USB port using ADB/Fastboot. The code is entered into a web page at Motorola, and if your phone can be unlocked, they will send you a unlock code. Then you fastboot the unlock code. then fastboot twrp. then flash magisk.
you may consider going to the forum page for your phone, it will have all the details.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g7-power
look under the guides section
hope that helps

Hello, Morky.
I do not understand how one can flash any image directly from the device without rooting it. Now, in order to root your device you will need either TWRP or flash SUPERSU or Magisk using fastboot. If you wish to root your device and install TWRP on it, you will require access to a computer.
The phone has to be BOOTLOADER unlocked in order to install TWRP and Magisk. Turning on OEM unlock, is a step in unlocking the phone - but it does not unlock the bootloader.
When you are saying the phone is unlocked, I believe you mean the phone is unlocked so it will run on any cell phone carrier - a way the phone is sold. But its not bootloader unlocked.
Bootloader unlocked is different - Most phones are sold with the bootloader locked and because of that, you cannot modify the operating system. Unlocking the bootloader allows you to modify the the android operating system.
You will have to install Motorola USB drivers on your computer. Go to the Motorola page at: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a and read about unlocking the bootloader. You will have to create a Motorola account to get an unlock code, if the bootloader can be unlocked. The pages will also have a link to obtain the Motorola USB drivers (MotorolaDeviceManager_2.5.4.exe).
You will need to install Minimal ADB Fastboot, a terminal program that allows you to push data/commands back and forth between the computer and your phone via the USB port. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790 You will use the FASTBOOT command to obtain the encrypted unlock code from the phone. You will also use FASTBOOT to install the unlock code that Motorola will send you,
After the bootloader is unlocked, you will use FASTBOOT to install TWRP into your phones recovery partition. TWRP info at https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-twrp/ TWRP is a backup and recovery program that is used to install programs, etc,
After you install TWRP, you can install MAGISK, which will ROOT the phone. Magisk info at https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk.
Please go to the forum I told you about and under the guides section you will find documentation that explains how to root the phone and install custom ROMs.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g7-power A guide will give you the finer details for your phone model.
Before you do any of the above, I advise you strongly to have a backup. Using FASTBOOT there is a command called "getvar all", it will return a long printout of info and it will include a readout of the original firmware installed on the phone. You will want to know this in case you brick the phone. Having this info will allow you to obtain the original firmware and be able to restore it via FASTBOOT. Firmwares at https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/ .l After installing TWRP, you should backup the phone to your SD card and then move the backup to your computer for future needs.
Good luck.

Deae Nivead,
..Oy! That sounds painful!! Guess, I have no business be doing this lock/unlock/rooting thing, huh?! Not a techie at all, this is very foreign to me! And those guys on YouTube... they lied then, said I could do all these without PC... Yeah, right! Turned out, it wasn't as easy as they were showing on videos. (((sigh))) Would be easier if I just send my phone to you?!?!!!
Thank yoooouuu soooo much for taking the time to write/tell me all this, truly appreciate your help and replies.

Kumar,
I guess those YouTube tutorials omitted left out a lot of steps and not as easy nor simple as they made it to be.... "without PC" as they claimed. How would someone with no background in computer programing, nor a "techie" like you here at xda... like me would know that?! If you "don't understand how....." I wouldn't understand either!! More so than you. One thing I've learnt now, all those tutorials about rooting and TWRP. on YouTube... are crap.

Unlock Bootloader of Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite

Hi, sorry for my English. I made a very big DPI change on my Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite and it is now bootloop in recovery. I need to unlock bootloader to retrieve files via TWRP or other. But the problem is that I didn't activate the Unlock Status on the Mi account... Is there any other alternative? I have very very important files. Thanks.
Without the bootloader unlocked you are unable to flash twrp to recovery. So I took the liberty of googling and found the following zip on crappy hardware reset. It's your choice, I just grabbed it for ya
Found here: https://www.hardreset.info/devices/xiaomi/xiaomi-mi-8-lite/faq/faq/xiaomi-bootloader-unlock-miui10/
Soz admin for external links, just showing where I got it. I accept responsibility for helping.
Feel free to delete the link after he's sussed it.
I am not responsible for the file., contents, or what you do with it
I've already tried this, the problem is that I can't access my phone to activate the "Mi Unlock Status" option, I can't unlock the bootloader, is there any way to "get around" this Mi Unlock Status? Is there any way to recover deleted files after a hard reset on the phone?

Well, that depend on your data recovery skill's, but you most likely need to accept that you lost it all. However, you could try flashing stock again, but DONT wipe userdata etc, then use I think wondershare does data recovery... This is what I'd do in your situation.
If you can flash system without flashing anything else with your stock flasher, try that, it may just keep your files.
I was trying to unlock the bootloader, but I would need to activate that on the Mi account, but I don't have access to the phone
So as I said, try to reflash system.bin/.img ONLY, nothing else. This SHOULD get you back into your fone, but you need to use your STOCK flashing program, hopefully it allows you to flash just the system.img If you can do this, you wont lose your data. You do NOT need to unlock fone to reflash system.img if you get me.

Can't enter fastboot mode

My Realme 6 is kept showing me:
The serial is not match
fastboot_unlock_verify fail
every time I tried to get into fastboot mode Using command adb reboot bootloader,
the bootloader is already unlocked, so I can't enter fastboot mode via the (In-depth Test) App.
It would be my pleasure if anyone got a fix for this problem,
regards
Do u have a solution for this? I was able to unlock but I want to relock and in I'm getting a similar window in fastboot, mine shows this :
@Alabfa @soler37 You guys found out what triggered those messages?
Me and another user of realme 7 are receiving the same errors. I recieve the first error, with unlocked kernel, non rooted android 12, after accidentally updating from rooted android 11 to android 12 without removing root before the update.
And the other user @Y-YoUsSef-F recieves the second error with unlocked kernel and rooted android 12.
Any ideas??

I only recieved the error when I tried to load into fastboot, the problem is with the newer update of Realme, you cannot unlock the bootloader from ADB, you must revert back to older versions, I used this guide:
[GUIDE] UNBRICK/DOWNGRADE YOUR REALME 6/6I(INDIA)/6S USING SPFLASH TOOL FOR FREE!
Hello everyone! So after the new mediatek DAA and SLA protection bypasses you can find github repo of here , using the bypass we are able to use SPFlash Tool, here is a guide how you can do it! This guide is for RMX2001, RMX2002 and RMX2003 ONLY...

once my phone was back to B.53 - Mega - Google Drive - Mirror3, I was able to go into fastboot and relock my bootloader.

sure thing!
I had this in my mind for a long time as once bootloader is unlocked, you cannot use google pay / Wallet, finally, I took to the guide and sat a whole night just incase I have any issues, I did run across one but its all in the guides.

Actually you can pass the safetynet tests with Magisk modules and magisk hide. But this is another topic. I can help you if you decide to re unlock and root!!
But I have an idea which I wanna try first about the access to fastboot mode.
In the guide you posted there is a step in which you bypass mtk authentication.
(4. Turn off your phone and again connect to PC while holding Vol+- buttons then run the brom.bat under Bypass folder. If it says "Protection Disabled" in the end you're ready to go on. (If it's like the screenshot below go on.))
Did you try to access into fastboot after this step or you continue to the flash process??
Guys I found the solution.
I managed to get into fastboot mode using the following commands:
adb devices
adb shell reboot fastboot

Thank you bro for this solution and I'm so glad you replied to this thread,
but for me, I was able to get into fastboot without this problem after I installed A13 custom Rom (EvolutionX v7.2 UNOFFICIAL)
I used these commands:
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
As a reminder, my problem was:
The serial is not match
fastboot_unlock_verify fail
