Hi All,
Recently purchased and installed a Joying head unit (4GB, PX5 Octa Core) (link)
I use google music for all my music needs. I have uploaded all my personal music onto the google music cloud servers so I can stream or download them whenever I want making it an ideal solution. I installed the google music app on my android head unit and everything works great appear from one small thing.
The steering wheel NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons are not responding on the music app. Its killing me cause at the moment every time I have to change a song ive got to touch the screen (not ideal when driving).
Volume buttons work fine but ive tried different things to try and get the other buttons to work within the app like button re mappers via the app store etc.
Does anyone know of any way to get the NEXT and PREVIOUS song wheel buttons to work with the google music app. I will love you so much
I think its a software thing with the app cause poweramp and some other music players work with the wheel buttons. If this is the case I was hoping that there is an app that can run in the background which can pickup the wheel buttons and translate them so they work with the google music app.
Any assistance would be great. I hope someone can help.
Did you ever figure this out? I am having the same issue with Spotify.
Try MTCD forums as you have a MTCD not MTCB unit. Suggest searching first for the answer.

I have searched these forums and I have tried damn near every app I can find relating to voice control. I simply want an app that controls a music player (doesn't even have to be google play as long as I can integrate play music into the player) and by control I mean: NEXT for next song and PREVIOUS for previous, PAUSE, for pause, etc. The only thing close is a few apps like Utter where you can say play music, and that's it or Commandr for google now where you have to say like 7 idiotic phrases to get to "NEXT". I know this is possible because from my s2, s3, s4 the STOCK Samsung app had voice control with NO WAKE UP PHRASE and no button pressing. You simply turned on the setting and when you opened the player, you just say "next" "previous" "pause" etc and it was amazing. I even integrated google play online library to the player. HOWEVER the idiots at Samsung took the voice features out of the s5 and Note 4 which I now have and I've spent months trying to find an alternative for my car. I don't know if any of you used this but it's amazing putting your phone down in your car and just simply saying "next" "play" etc...not having to say stupid things like Hi galaxy or wake up or ok google first even if those platforms had a next search function. IF ANYTHING can someone maybe edit the s4 Samsung music player stock app for use in the Note 4. I have tried to install it on my Note 4 but it will not function, even replacing the stock one in the Note 4. My phone is rooted, has custom recovery, xposed framework, and I am willing to do whatever to get this feature. Thanks
Hey all, I don't know if General is the correct location for this question, but it's the most-correct I could find for the moment. I use a Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (that's sadly on the fritz right now), and I haven't been able to find any media player for it since I got it that's set up for a tablet. The buttons are always small, the layouts are always off-center or just out of convenient reach, and they look absurdly stretched-out. I've tried searching Google and the app store for anything, but I can't seem to come across any decent "designed-for-tablet" players. Does such a thing exist? Does anyone know of one that provide large buttons and whatnot, despite not being designed for a tablet? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I've tried: Google Music, Rocket Player, Shuttle+, Phonograph, and Musixmatch so far.
Hi all,
I have a Klyde head unit for my Honda Civic, This one.
- I am running Malaysk's latest ROM from 12 Feb.
-I use CarHomeUltra as my launcher by allowing it to take over the home button (only the software button though, it will not take over the physical home button).
-I have Google Play Music set up as my preferred media player in all places I could find (Carhomeultra, headunit app, the xposed modules) and I have it setup so that it starts playing music right away by using Automagic which is an app like Tasker.
-This whole setup starts once my phone's bluetooth pairs with the head unit, at that time my phone starts a wifi hot spot and the head unit connects to it and does its thing. It all works, but it takes what seems like forever to actually start playing music. This has worked great on earlier setups that I had so I don't know if I have mucked everything up with conflicting settings in the xposed modules or not.
-It is about 30 sec to actually load up android (has been that way since a very early MCU that I was on where android loaded in like 18 sec!), this part I have come to accept. But it takes up to 3 minutes for all my steps to kick in and actually start playing the music.
-I have messed with the PCV startup app, added Google Play Music, automagic, bluetooth, carhomeultra, and anything else I could think of to speed it up. Now when android loads up, I am right at the google play music screen, so that seems to be working.
Do you guys have an efficient setup or know of the best way for me to get this working as optimal as possible? I love how we have a dedicated forum now but still find it difficult to find exactly what you are looking for.
Apologies for perhaps using the wrong forum, I have to wait to create this thread in either the "general" or "Q&A" forum.
Contact the author of this program will help you do, the download will be 20-30 seconds. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3246437

Try Button Mapper from the Play Store. Go to Add buttons, click the + sign to add a button, press the button while the dialog is showing and see if they are detected. If they are detected, you can remap them to anything you like, including next and previous track.

Yeah I did try this but its not picking up the steering wheel controls.
I find this strange cause the steering wheel buttons work with some app and not others. So it must be a software/app thing.
Does anyone else know of anything else?

My problem is the following, I am listening Deezer Premium (paid) with my av-receiver (Onkyo/Pioneer) and there is so much clicking to start it, so I think a macro could help to switch to "My Music".
I use Onkyo Controller
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.onkyo.jp.onkyocontroller
to wake up the receiver
With this app I have to choose
the zone (eg living room)
input device (net)
Deezer
My music
(maybe there are other steps else, especially with Spotify where you have to choose the output device after playing the 1st song)
I have bought
RepetiTouch Pro (root)
Elixir
Can anyone give me some hints how to create a button that does the steps above? It is easy to start an app with Elixir, but then I don't know how to go on. I think it is best to get a start situation, which is every time the same.
