Your ROM is probably corrupted. Happened to me before. Reflash the ROM.
At worst your unit is about to go kaput. It's 3 years old already. Mine has had 2 battery replacements, and the screen has lost sensitivity on one corner.

Copy the Update folder onto SDCard and reboot. It's the simplest device to flash.
It is booting into TWRP. I can select upgrade.zip with TWRP but the installation fails. How can I get TWRP to stop being the boot agent ?

You probably have to try the adb method, or flash a stock recovery image from the stock ROM.
The adb method is covered in other threads here, but offhand what I recall would be :
1. Use the Huawei Update Extractor to extract your recovery.img, system.img etc
2. Place these on your sdcard.
3. In TWRP, use adb commands to flash recovery first.
If it works, then you should be able to perform the normal sdcard upgrade.

What you did it to get stuck on the teamwin bootlogo?
Even for me it gets stuck. I usually get it stuck if i use recovery option under twrp (for e.g. recover anything via twrp backup, may be my nandroid backup). The device successfully recovers, but thereafter twrp is no longer usable even after uninstalling and reinstalling it. The only way I am left out with is to remove twrp and perform a factory reset(but via erecovery) or just dload again.
there are 2 different twrp recovery, one is which work only with emui, other are which works with emui and custom rom (maybe decryption will not work with second)
if you will use second twrp what are treble enabled, then you shuld be able to use twrp with custom rom
ofcorse, if you flash wrong twrp, what isnt meant for your device, you will be stuck on twrp logo too!
there are twrp treble for p20 lite : https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-lite/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-t3782866

Hi, thanks for your reply. I actually found a twrp that works fine (no decryption though, as you mentioned, which is a bit of a pain but at least it works). I just fastboot flashed recovery_ramdisk - sorted.
So hey! I successfully booted into the TWRP and used it to flash the DISABLEFORCEENCRYPTION file, right after. I decided to reboot to recovery (Cause I think that would be great just after you flash something in TWRP) but then after it finishes showing the pocophone booting screen rather than showing TWRP recovery. It showed the stock MIUI recovery! someone please help! I just finished flashing magisk and a custom rom by using the method of: Everytime I need to flash something using TWRP I would just open adb and fastboot boot recovery it again so that I could use the TWRP!
Thank you in advance!

I decided to fix this problem after I flashed a rom cause I think I would run into future problems involving magisk and it's use of the TWRP recovery.

If you already have the ROM installed, use adb to flash TWRP and without booting flash Magisk and then boot to system. If you are on stock ROM, follow THIS.
For entering into TWRP, use the key combination of volume up + power buttons.
You can use the encryption compatible TWRP (search for it) instead of the official one.
Hi all, so, i wanted to boot into twrp today only to realise that i cant since the MIUI 10+ update.

So I then flashed TWRP 3.1.0 into the boot partition and recovery partition using the temporarilyinstalled TWRP . Now I only see TWRP recovery on the screen.I selcted Reboot, then system but it againshowed the same screen. I tried to erase internal storage but it didn't work.. Please help me how to fix this. Is it hardbricked?

I have a locked bootloader and the USB debugging option as well as the OEM unlock are not enabled . Won't it affect the reinstallation of the ROM?

I tried flashing the stock boot img and it was stuck in boot logo. I then gave it some mobile repair center and they somehow managed to get it back to normal. They told that there were problems related to hardware . Thank you for replying mrsiri. I really appreciate it
