I have weird problem with my phone.
First i need to note that, the phone has third screen mounted for now. I have that problem on all 3 screens. Original screen had this problem, then i changed it after cracking screen. After one month i cracked second screen and last day i mounted new screen. The problem is - sometimes (maybe 1-5 times per day) touch (i mean screen + hwkeys on it) is unresponsive until reboot. Touch is never hanging up when is turned on. I doesn't have ghost touch or sometimes like this. Touch is turning off always when i unlock phone with key or fingerprint and i need to reboot device with pressing power. Then it's always working fine.
Anyone has that problem? It's my second lemax because i sell first after problem with camera (no focus, hardware damaged because when i shocked phone it's sometimes started working). Sorry for my bads.
What i tried:
-flashing new firmware (but i dont remember what firmware i have now)
-flashing new custom rom
-flashing phone in 9008 (i need to do that after changing fingerprint sensor)
-changing screen because i cracked two (problem is on 3 screens)
-noted that problem is always. Nothing matter with phone temperature or cracks.
I have hotair and i can reflow IC but i don't know which IC can be damaged.

Hi,
I have a touch screen problem with seems like if the screen "feels" a non-existing touch so that when I actually touch it with my finger it activates pinch-zoom mode.
The problem appeared after I left a phone on a shelf switched off for about 1.5 month waiting for a new battery to arrive. When I switched it on with a new battery the mess started.
Tried the old battery, factory reset. The problem persists, sometimes right after boot, sometimes 1-2 min after boot.
From searching the forum I understand the most common problem with Hero screen it bottom freeze, but that's not my case and I couldn't find problems similar to mine.
Thanks for help in advance.
Xperia Ray user:
I think my ray has sporadic display coma issues.
it seems to happen when phone comes out of deep sleep (standby for a minute or longer) and i press home or power button to play with it. The backlight lits up, but the GPU doesn't seem to come out of its sleep (=coma?) and screen stays black with backlight on. The phone is then fully functional, also touchscreen works well....but without display output.
Only way to wake the screen up is to press the power button repeatedly (press twice fast (=off/on)...nothing..wait a second press twice fast...repeat until screen is on)
I tried "every rom/kernel" out here (incl. factory resets), no simm, no sdcard etc. , also added wakelocks to keep the device out of deep sleep..and the only thing which works best for me is to use cyanogenmod 7.2 (GB). It smells like a hardware problem on the qualcomm chip with its embedded GPU.
Somehow cyanogenmod has a different approach on switching on the screen?
Still when making phonecalls with CM 7.2 and screen goes off by proximity sensor...the coma issue comes back (black screen) and i cannot put the call on hook as i dont see anything on screen.
If anybody knows a low-level tweak (deeper than kernel goes), please PM me and write a reply.
Sorry... i refuse to accept that out of nothing this screen coma issue pops up...and when i finally have the display on...everything works fine.
Thanks in advance
Michel
My 2 friends have xperia ray and both of them are facing the same issue, this issue started to show up after disassembling the phone
for changing the housing.
Did you disassembled your phone or gave it for reapir where they disassembled it?
sometimes the touch screen also stops working but its happens rarely.
I don't think its an hardware problem because it only showed up after disassembling the phone, i think the housing or the touchscreen
cable becomes loose after disassembling because i kept some packing of paper over the touchscreen cable and its sometimes solves the problem but still happens!
I went to sony care they disassembled the phone and found nothing bad inside and told me it may be a software problem but ever since they
disassembled and reassembled the phone the issue magically disappeared!!!! but one of my friend is still facing the issue.
So its can be a loose screws or housing!
Hello Everyone,
I bought my cousin's xperia z2 two days ago its a great piece but so bad for me i couldn't enjoy a full week without problems
the screen becomes unresponsive when i hold two fingers for some time (15-30 seconds), I've discovered this issue when I was playing GTA San Andreas and kept holding the screen, during normal use this issue happens very rarely, but I think what's causing it is when i hold two fingers for some time it becomes unresponsive (tried it on home and other apps its not related to a specific app), locking/unlocking the device fix the issue and everything goes back to normal till i hold two fingers again........ its really irritating and i don't know what to do.
I've tried to boot into safe mode and the issue stills there and I really can't tell whether it's a software or hardware issue .
About the phone :
- Hardware : it has a replaced display and vibrator not working
- Software : no system changes have been made, everything is stock!!
Hello, last week I had to replace my phone's digitizer. I bought one that included its frame to make sure I don't break the flex cable, I hooked up everything and I'm sure as hell there's nothing wrong. Randomly when Im going to unlock the screen doesn't respond, also noticed that when it happens the menu button is always "pressed" even if you don't touch the display, is there a way to fix it, my brother has a redmi 3 too and after he replaced screen same things happen. He has lineage OS and he can reboot because screen doesn' turn unresponsive
Hello XDA.
The screen on my LG G3 Verizon (vs985) has been acting weird and I really would like a second opinion about if I have a screen issue on my hands or if it is a motherboard problem. I included pictures below.
Screen responds to double-tap-to-wake, and buttons still work. I'm able to turn phone off by pressing power button (as long as it normally takes to display Power Menu), then tapping on where the Switch Off button ought to have been displayed. Apparently, motherboard sends stuff to screen, but screen unable to visibly display it.
I've been using motherboard since it was bought new 6 months ago so I really doubt it's the motherboard, but I could be wrong. Screen is over 4 years old. The best way would have been to try another trusted motherboard (if screen is still not normal, then it's DEFINITELY screen's fault). So in the absence of such a conclusive test, I would appreciate opinions.
Thanks.
Pictures (L-R): When booting (picture taken with flash), when booting (picture taken without flash), after booting into Android, phone charging with screen switched off.
SOLUTION: It turned out to be a screen problem (screen was replaced and voila!).
